Chapter 197 Spoiled Daughter

Once Mr. Long entered the meeting room, he was sure that he would see everyone there but for some reason the room lacked the distinctive presence of Kang Jun and Lu AnLing.

Mr. Long was completely confused but he tried not to show it as he placed the refreshments on the table.

Taking a bottle of water, Mo Yichen was about to ask where Kang Jun was, but just as he opened his mouth, Lu AnLing and Kang Jun entered the room.

As they did, Kang Jun fixed his suit ever so slightly, and the partially out of breath Lu AnLing tucked her hair behind her ear.

Realizing that Lu AnLing's hair, which had been tied up in a high ponytail in the elevator, now cascaded beautifully down her back, Mr. Long felt his face heat up.

He couldn't believe it...

Could those two not control themselves?!

As she entered the room, Lu AnLing was no longer scared, but she was slightly nervous about her appearance. Sometimes Kang Jun lost himself in the pleasure of her body. So much so, that he would make a complete mess out of her, and this didn't change even if they weren't at home.

Glancing at the people inside the room, as she fixed her hair, Lu AnLing saw two familiar faces; a man and a woman.

The man was Mo Yichen, but the woman was someone Lu AnLing knew but had never physically met before; Tang Bingyi.

As soon as Lu AnLing and Kang Jun had entered the room, both Tang Bingyi and Mo Yichen had noticed something off. Mo Yichen, with the help of Mr. Long's reaction, recognized almost immediately what had happened and he couldn't help but smile. But when it came to Tang Bingyi, she couldn't quite put her finger on it.

Walking up to Lu AnLing, Tang Bingyi ran her eyes over the girl's entire body.

"Hello, I'm Tang Bingyi," she said as she stretched out her hand. Lu AnLing immediately took it and shook it firmly. Feeling this, Tang Bingyi gave a charming grin which revealed her canines. "Let's have a seat and chat, shall we?"

Lu AnLing glanced at Kang Jun nervously, but seeing how calm he was, Lu AnLing decided to follow Tang Bingyi to a corner of the meeting room.

Meanwhile, on the other side of town, Elder Kang was sitting in a restaurant. Thinking about how today could have been the day he saw Lu AnLing again, the old man sighed.

He felt so extremely strange nowadays. It was as if he was finally transforming into an actual grandfather. For all these years, Elder Kang didn't care much about how broken his family way. It was something he had no say about, so he accepted it... but nowadays, all he wanted to do was see his family join together in happiness...

By his side, Kang Mei Xue sat silently as she drank some juice.

Seeing this, he patted the girl on the head and then the old man began to sip on some water as he observed his surroundings.

As he glanced around he frowned. And then he looked at his watch. As he did this, annoyance spread through his face.

He looked away from his watch and then continued to drink water. Then, just as he was about to check his watch again, he heard a voice call to him.

Turning around, Elder Kang met the calm expression of Elder Tang, who walked side by side with a man in his early 50's.

"Guanting, how have you been?" Elder Tang chimed.

Hearing how happy his friend was, Elder Kang frowned hard. "I've been just great... Waiting for over an hour but great!"

Elder Tang laughed and ignored his friend's words.

Sitting down at the table, Elder Tang smiled, greeted Kang Mei Xue and then he asked for the waitress to bring them the finest wine they had.

Looking at the little girl, Elder Tang said, "You're so lucky to have great-grandchildren! If my grandchildren don't start procreating, I might as well adopt my own set of little rascals."

Elder Kang laughed. "No matter what you do, your grandchildren will not look as cute as mine."

Hearing this, Elder Tang shrugged and said, "Any child born out of my family will be cute, that's all thanks to my beautiful Liane."

When he mentioned his deceased wife's name, Elder Tang's gaze became cloudy. Then the wine suddenly came, and he reverted back to his usual demeanor and poured some into his glass.

"None for me. I don't drink anymore," Elder Kang sighed.

Hearing this Elder Tang's face suddenly twisted and then he gave a hearty laugh. "Who said any of this was for you? This is all for me!"

Elder Kang rolled his eyes at this and then he looked to the gentleman who stood by them.

The man had been standing there for a small while and because he was a stranger Kang Mei Xue started at the man strangely.

"Whose this?" Elder Kang asked.

Taking a sip of his wine and appreciating the taste, Elder Tang gave a sigh of utter happiness before he said, "This is my eldest son. The heir to my fortune and the father of the granddaughter your son is considering marrying your grandson to."

Elder Kang's face paled. "T-the matter with Jun had been settled. Your granddaughter will not be marrying him..."

Hearing this, Elder Tang didn't bat an eyelash, he just shrugged and said, "That's unfortunate. I really hoped that our two families could have been connected by marriage."

Elder Kang nodded. "Me too... but if I can get that rascal Liang to marry, I'm happy to allow your granddaughter to marry him."

Elder Tang laughed. "I'm afraid that wouldn't do. That girl seemed to have her heart set on Kang Jun. I can always ask Bingyi, though she's a bit cold. She has no interest in love and such."

"I understand what you mean before my grandson had no wish to involve himself in such relationships. He always said they were 'troublesome'" Elder Kang mocked Kang Jun's previous beliefs.

Thinking about it now, Kang Jun needed someone to be there for him and to love him. Since childhood, the boy always seemed to be alone, with no one to truly trust. Now, he had a wife who would always love him and be there for him, Elder Kang couldn't be any more thankful.

From the side, Elder Tang's eldest son watched as the two elder happily chatted. He then looked at the little girl who started at him with doe eyes. It felt as if her eyes were accusing him of something and this made the man's head begin to feel extremely uncomfortable.

Massaging his temple, the man sighed, "Dad, I need to go..."

Elder Tang turned to his son and nodded,

"I'm sure that spoiled daughter of yours is waiting for you." The elder huffed.

"She's not spoiled. I raised her well, she's just under a lot of stress lately..." The man said protecting his daughter from his father's verbal abuse.

To this, Elder Tang waved the boy off. As he left, Elder Tang sighed and then began to drink much more heavily.

Seeing this, Elder Kang raised an eyebrow and said, "Is everything okay?"

Elder Tang took his last sip of wine and then said, "If Liane could see me now she would be extremely disappointed about how I treated our son... it's hard to be close to him and his daughter after what I've done."

Elder Kang wasn't sure what crime the man had committed against his own son, but deep in his heart, whatever Elder Tang had done, Elder Kang was probably the only one in the world who could understand.

Elder Kang looked away and said, "We've all made mistakes."

Elder Tang did not respond. He just signaled for the waitress to give him another bottle of wine.

Seeing this, Elder Kang sighed.

Elder Kang: "All that should matter right now is reconciliation. Blood is blood. That will never change, you either learn how to properly love them or repeat the same mistakes again. And we both know that those mistakes could cost not only a relationship, but another's life..."

Hearing such macabre words. Elder Tang looked at Elder Kang apologetically.

"You're talking about Kang Zhi..."

Elder Kang laughed dryly, "Zhi... Li... I don't want to lose anyone else."

Elder Tang nodded and then he looked at Kang Mei Xue who watched as the two old men spoke. She understood that what they were talking about was something sad but she couldn't quite connect it to her emotions.

She was still young and she didn't know what it meant to lose someone. Despite the fact that she had lost her twin, her other half, she couldn't feel any pain about it because she had never known but for some reason, somewhere deep in her heart, she understood loss. And she felt as if she had understood it since the day she was born.

Realizing that a strange darkness was beginning to envelop her eyes, Elder Tang raised his glass a said, "Enough about that, Kang Jun is getting married. I wish him the happiest of marriages and lives!"

Hearing this, Elder Kang laughed and then clanked his glass to Elder Tang's.

Then the two singled to Kang Mei Xue who decided to copy the elders.

Hearing Elder Tang's words, Kang Mei Xue smiled. She also wanted a happy marriage and life for Kang Jun. but not only for him but Lu AnLing and Kang Mingyu too. She wanted them to be the happiest people on the planet because, for some reason, she felt an immense love for them.

Meanwhile, back and Kang Corporations, Lu AnLing was being completely overtaken as she spoke to Tang Bingyi.

Tang Bingyi wasn't usually much of a talker. Like Kang Jun she was usually cold and quiet but because of Kang Jun's interest in Lu AnLing and the weird aura that surrounded the two when they walked into the room, Tang Bingyi's interest was extremely peeked.

"Why did you end up learning so many languages?" Tang Bingyi asked with bright eyes.

Lu AnLing: "I like languages, I guess... I was already fluent in English and French when I was young."

Tang Bingyi coked her head, "That's different..."

Lu AnLing nodded. "My dad was a bit strange. He wanted me to learn a lot of things."

Hearing this, Tang Bingyi nodded her head. "I get you. My mom forced my brother and me to learn weird things too..."

Hearing Tang Bingyi begin to complain about her mother, Lu AnLing felt herself calm.

Tang Bingyi was 24 years old but she always seemed much older due to her demeanor, but right now, Lu AnLing felt like the girl seemed like a teenager.

Seeing Lu AnLing calm, Tang Bingyi felt as if she had an opening so she said, "What's with you a Kang Jun?"

Hearing this, Lu AnLing felt herself choke.

"M-Mr. Kang just offered me a job, so I guess he's a business partner."

Tang Bingyi played with her hair a bit and then she leaned forward, "I'm not very good at beating around the bush so, I'll just tell you this, the man likes you."

Lu AnLing was completely shocked as she heard Tang Bingyi say this, but it wasn't over. The girl reached for Lu AnLing's hand and said, "I want to know why."
