Chapter 193 Call Me Auntie

Qiao Lan did not waste time contacting Kang Mu and Mo Ruyi. The two had been busy for a while now, so talking to them on the phone was quite hard. Not wanting to risk a negative response from the two, Qiao Lan thought it best to go up there and chat.

Kang Mu and Mo Ruyi lived in a villa not too far away from the Qiao Manor, so as soon as she had a small semblance of time, she got her driver to bring her there.

Arriving at the villa, Qiao Lan was warmly welcomed by the housekeeper and brought straight to the dining hall,

The housekeeper turned to smile at Qiao Lan and said, "The madame and the master have some guests over, but I'm sure they'll be glad to see you."

Qiao Lan nodded with a smile as she elegantly followed the housekeeper, but internally she was a bit annoyed. She had hoped that she could quickly convince Kang Mu And Mo Ruyi to give Rong Yue Wan another chance, but it seemed like she had to wait for the guests to leave...

It was really early in the afternoon.

'Who could possibly be here?'

Wondering this, Qiao Lan asked the housekeeper to leave her. She wanted to find her own way to the dining room. When the woman left her, Qiao Lan quickly made her way there, then, at the huge doors. Qiao Lan stopped. She could vaguely hear the conversation inside. Opening the door ever so slightly, Qiao Lan peered inside.

Looking at the table, Qiao Lan laid eyes on three women she remembered well...

"I'm so glad you made some time in your busy schedule to speak with us, Madame Feng." Kang Mu laughed as he reached to touch Mo Ruyi's hand. "My wife and I are really trying our best to find the perfect wife for our son."

Madame Feng reciprocates the laugh, except instead of being explosive like Kang Mu's it was dainty, and said, "I completely understand."

Kang Mu: "I feel a bit bad about what happened last time regarding Feng Yue... my son was cruel to break off the engagement so close to the wedding day, but this time, such a thing will not happen!"

Kang Mu's voice contained certainty.

Recognizing this, Madame Feng smiled, "That's good to hear, but don't be too hard on the boy, Feng Yue told me that she and he had spoken before breaking off the engagement. It was a mutual decision. I'm sorry to say this but..." she turned to look at Feng Yue who sat awkwardly beside her, "My daughter was still a child back then, she had no idea what marriage truly entailed, but she knew she didn't want to spend her life with Kang Jun."

"That's quite alright," Kang Mu said shaking his head, "Jun is quite odd and cold, it would be hard for anyone to live with him. He also gets angry easily..."

Touching her arm, Feng Yue receded into her chair as the hairs on her arms raised.

Not noticing her sisters reaction, Feng Yan interrupted. "I think Kang Jun is just slightly misunderstood. He seems like a very good and accomplished man to me."

Hearing this, Kang Mu couldn't help but laugh out loud. "I see that you have your heart set on our son!"

To this statement, Feng Yan blushed but she didn't say a word. She tried her best not to speak too much, in this formal meeting. Unlike her sister, Feng Yan was not good at keeping her emotions in check, so her mother had ordered her to keep herself prim and proper, and for her to do that, she had to say and do as less as possible.

Seeing the way Feng Yan reacted, Kang Mu turned to Feng Yue worriedly and said, "If your sister becomes Kang Jun's wife, will it not bother you?"

Feng Yue shook her head. "As much as I agree that Kang Jun is a good man, I have to admit that I don't hold the feelings for him that my sister does. She's been in love with your son for a long time, so I'm sure that she would make a great wife and daughter-in-law of the Kang's"

Hearing this, Madame Feng nodded. She couldn't have said it better herself. To show her praise for her eldest daughter, Madame Feng, touches Feng Yue's shoulder and said, "Yue Yue you really are your father's daughter..."

She had no other words to say, but by simple affectionately calling Feng Yue's name and talking about her father, the girl smiled softly at her mother.

Madame Feng had always been an emotional person who loved her husband and daughters more than anything. However, she loved her husband more. When Master Feng died, Madame Feng receded into making the Feng family business grow in order to fulfill the dreams her husband had had when he was alive.

Since then, the woman tried to act like an ice queen, despite the fact that it didn't suit her.

For Feng Yue, seeing her mother warm and affectionate was something of the past, but when the woman was proud, the love came back.

Watching the two, Feng Yan felt her body stiffen. Feng Yue was the respectable child, and she was not...

Feng Yan hoped that this would change when she married into the Kang family.

Looking across the table to Kang Mu and Mo Ruyi, Feng Yan's emotions were divided in half.

While Kang Mu was relatively relaxed and kind, Feng Yan knew that Mo Ruyi was even more glacial and strict. In all these years none of the Kang boys had caused scandals. Not even Kang Liang who flirted with every living, breathing woman. And Feng Yan knew that this had something to do with Mo Ruyi...

Staring at Mo Ruyi, Feng Yan wondered how her relationship with her future mother-in-law would be like.

'Not easy.' Were the words that came to mind. If she didn't find a way to melt the ice queen's heart, Feng Yan was in for a strained mother-in-law and daughter-in-law relationship.

This scared her.

Was there any way to win the woman over?

As she thought of this, the sound of a door opening alerted everyone.

They all turned to the sound.

Entering the dining hall, Qiao Lan had her head held high. Her high heels tapping on the marble floor impatiently as she made her way to the table. As the people sat, staring at her quietly, Qiao Lan examines her surroundings before she said,

"Hello mother, father," she made sure to greet her in-laws first, and then she turned to the Feng's and said, "How do you do Madame Feng?"

Madame Feng smiled at Qiao Lan. The woman had always liked Qiao Qingqing's daughter. The girl was the perfect socialite, admired by all. This was exactly how she wanted her own daughters to be.

Madame Feng: "Oh my, Qiao Lan, it's been a while. How are your mother and grandfather doing?"

Qiao Lan's face immediately paled.

Seeing the pain Qiao Lan showed, Kang Mu's face filled with sadness and he answered for the girl, "I'm afraid Elder Qiao is in a coma..."

Madame Feng's eyes opened wide. "My condolences. What happened?"

"Heart attack." Mo Ruyi was the one who answered this time. Emotionlessly.

Putting on a sad smile, Qiao Lan put her hands together and said, "Granpa is getting better... we have hope that he will wake up soon. For now, I'm taking care of his estate."

Madame Feng reciprocated Qiao Lan's sad smiled and said, "Sweetie, If there is anything you need, come and see me. I'd be glad to help you."

"Thank you, Mrs. Feng." Qiao Lan said.

"Nonsense," Madame Feng said loudly, "We might be family sooner or later, call me Auntie Feng."

Hearing this, Qiao Lan couldn't help but smile.

Meanwhile, Feng Yan And Feng Yue looked at Qiao Lan suspiciously.
