The pitter pattering of the rain resounded throughout the run-down cities in the USA, overlapping the sounds of explosions originating from all around.

Shortly after the explosions had come to a stop, the smoke from them began to fade.

Roan's figure could be seen laying on the ground, blood could be seen flowing down his military uniform as he was riddled with knives all over his body.

His pants grew weaker and his vision was blurrier than usual, he was on deaths doors.

But the smile remained on his face, for ahead of him. The red horned one, known as Reizar, could be seen standing with his entire right side of his body missing, above the torso missing.

It had gotten directly hit by the explosion and blown to pieces.

He too however, was also hit. Looking down, Roan could see that one of his legs was missing. He was already a goner. He had crystalised the wound to prevent blood from flowing out using his smoke's ability but it was only a matter of time before he met his end.

[Squadron 0, I repeat again, we haven't received any reports from you, do you copy?]

"Yeah... *Cough* We encountered some difficulties but I managed to-"

Roan's eyes widened, the following words slipped out of his tongue as he witnessed the nightmarish sight ahead of him.

Reizar's blood was slowly returning back to his body as it began to revert to it's previous state.

Roan was at a loss for words, he couldn't believe it, he couldn't believe his eyes.

His wounds were healing in a way he had never seen before. The life threatening wound which should have killed him without a moment's notice, was healing up.

Roan's mouth trembled, the cigar completely slipped out, falling onto the ground as he was suddenly impaled right in his heart by a blade which had extended out of Reizar's hand.

Roan's life flashed by his eyes once more, for a moment, just a moment he felt glad to finally be freed from this hell hole.

"Mon...Ster..."

Those were his last words, before life left his eyes.

It was 8:00 AM, The sky and clouds were dark as the storm raged on.

Directly above one of the Labyrinth holes in New York above one of the fleets, a large blue cube could be seen.

Feeling a sense of danger, all those inside the city found themselves unable to take their eyes off of it as a loud voice was broadcasted from it.

Even through the rain, the voice could be heard loud and clearly as it said.

"Hyumans... Rather than yielding the labyrinths, you decided to fight back for them and have killed my people.

I've decided to acknowledge your inferior race... And therefore declare... This is war. All of you will die."

…

Alarms could be heard wailing from within countless refugees all around the city. The instant the cube had made the announcement, raids began happening from all over the city.

Unlike before where the horned ones were going off the labyrinths and simply destruction in the city's infrastructure, they were now personally going after hidden settlements.

The cries of people being murdered from left and right had returned after just barely having calmed down, this time seemingly louder than before.

The ability users and defences put up by the refugees struggled to handle even one noble.

This new wave of horned ones was on a completely different level than anything ever encountered by them.

These nobles weren't only using their abilities in ways they didn't know possible.

They were physical superior to the previous horned ones and every single one of them which had been encountered had abilities falling nothing short of level 5.

Monsters... They were monsters.

*WHAM!*

The sound of a slam resounded across the empty room. The president could be seen with an infuriated look on his face.

"Those bastards... Are you telling me they didn't think of this as war before...?"

He took in a deep breath before slowly letting it out.

Following that, he proceeded to head outside of the room.

"A week to launch an attack...? We don't have that long...! Who knows what they're planning!?" The president asked

"The cameras set around caught more horned ones could be seen leaping off the naval fleets, their horns were all red, the highest rank... They're going all out... Executive."

The brown-haired middle-aged man could be seen with his brows together in a frown as he contemplated on something.

"Did I make a mistake...?"

"Imperial Angel Coorps Executive Sir..."

He raised his hand gesturing for her to wait before going back into deep thought.

"No... Our main forces can't be sent out now... We're not ready... The raid will fail if we do attack now... But If we don't countless people will die..."

He proceeded to stand up from his chair as if having finally reached a conclusion.

"I've sent out all the second ranked officers we had available... Along with her... The unstable first rank... I can only hope that they'll be able to buy us some time... We'll have to push the plan forward, eight days is too long." He muttered.

He turned to her, gesturing her to say what she had to say.

"The president has requested another meeting... And regarding her... Sir, do you really think sending her out was the best option? It may cause us more harm than good... Wouldn't it have been better to send out cut?"

"Cut isn't ready... She'll be crucial for our raid, we can't risk losing her... I sent 'Her' out on her own, we don't have to worry about her dark flames injuring her squad or losing control..."

"But sir..."

The man interrupted her, veins could be seen bulging out of his neck as he clenched his fist tightly.

"Can't you see we're out of options!? We have to use very card we have available! The other organisations haven't made any moves as of yet! Other than us, what do the government and people have to rely on!?"

The lady took a step back before lowering her head.

"You're right..."

---

Somewhere in the middle of the city, inside one of the refugees hidden underground.

A single red ranked horned one could be seen standing ahead of sole girl.

Her hair was a strong silver, her eyes sharp and irises golden. She had two swords on her waist and one hanging over shoulder as she held onto it.

She pointed at the horned, a small dark flame lit up ahead of her index finger.

"You're dead." She declared with a threatening glare.

Gray's eyes opened.

He quickly stood up, before looking around.

Darkness, as far as the eye could see.

"Where... Am I...?" He asked.

[You are hibernating...]
