Chapter 30: The Dome Refugee: Part 2

From the outside, Gray could see that rather than it being one single Dome, it was one large connected by four other medium sized ones, this was certainly interesting to see.

After passing through the gates, they were quickly subjugated to a sterilization area, a place where, upon entering, sprayed them with some sort of detoxified or sterilizer.

There was only one path, the room following that was an area known as the quarantining area, this one was heavily guarded by automatic reinforced metal doors.

There were a few others in the area, a small queue which led to a group of trained professionals wearing a white full body suit and gas masks.

It was split between males and females, the females conducted a full body check up hidden behind curtains for the girls and the same went for the guys. Aurora and Lita were hesitant to split up at first, but eventually they got over it.

The process itself was quick, they had to strip down to their underwear. Fortunately it was nothing further than that, otherwise Aurora might have honestly frozen the whole place down.

After that, they also did a blood test to make sure there was no signs of the virus in the bloodstream, as apparently many of the water supplies around the city were indeed infected meaning it could still be in some peoples system.

"W-What?! What do you mean I'm infected?!" Someone suddenly sprung up, yelling out from the other side of the curtains.

Gray who was outside waiting his turn could, watched quietly as a group of guards escorted the man out of the curtains. Once he began struggling saying that there was nothing waiting for him out there, one of them pointed their rifles at him.

"This is for everyone's safety. You're already a goner. I'm sorry." Said the guard as he kept the rifle pointed at him.

A military outfit, so far all the guards Gray had seen had been apart of the military. Well all those except for the ability users outside, they wore regular clothing.

"P-Please! M-My family is in there, They called me! I still have the mail!" The man begged.

Despite that, the guard didn't falter.

"I'm sorry."

The man cried out for help as they dragged him outside the quarantine room.

Without a change in his expression, Gray proceeded through, now that it was his turn.

After everything was done, they were given a key card with their digitalized names and a number displayed. They were also given a rule book which explained how they would get their rations and how things worked were given to them.

Together, the four along with the rest of those who had passed the exam stood in front of another set of automatic reinforced doors, waiting for it to open.

A voice came from the speaker.

"Welcome to Refugee X-012, I hope you enjoy your stay."

Following that, the sound of steam compressing could be heard, as the reinforced doors automatically opened.

A warm breeze instantly blew by, the sweet scent of food filled their nostrils and a bright light lit up their eyes.

Through their eyes they could see a large transparent spherical roof, displaying the cloudy and rainy sky. Beneath it were countless different types of stores, the range varied from restaurants to even clothes.

There was even an arcade with games inside and a casino.

From the outside, this was completely unexpected. Smiles could be seen on the faces of many as they walked around. Music was playing and there was even a large TV, broadcasting prerecorded channels at the very top.

The four of them were honestly taken aback, compared to outside, it looked like heaven.

"Amazing, isn't it?"

Turning to the source of the voice, they find a grown man. Short black hair, brown eyes and a trimmed beard. He wore a black shirt with long green camo pants.

"With how bad things are outside, it almost seems fake. But you can relax." He said as he took a step forward. "You're safe here." He added before walking off.

Without saying anything, they watched as he disappeared off into one of the restaurants.

The other people followed after, some even cried tears of joy, leaving only Gray and his group behind.

"Warning, door will shut down in 5-"

Not willing to take their chances, they stepped through, a mixture of excitement and joy filled Lita's face as the fact came to mind. She had finally arrived.

Although she hadn't seen the vision she had given Gray, she could easily recall most of her visions. This place was exactly the vision which she had seen, her mother was here.

"Kylo, Aurora, quickly! We need to find mum! I can't wait to introduce you to her!" She yelled out, her voice filled with enthusiasm. She then proceeded to grab Kylo and Aurora by their hands before rushing off with them.

'What about me?' Gray wondered as he pointed at himself with a confused look.

Suddenly, she stopped as if remembering something before turning around and looking right at him.

'Ah… so she wasn't that ungrateful-'

Gray's thoughts were cut off as she stuck out her tongue towards him before running off with Aurora and Kylo.

A vein popped on Gray's forehead before he chased after them, wondering just how exactly he would punish the brat.

"Yep, that's it. I'll teach her a lesson."

Aurora who had been watching, played along occasionally letting out a few chuckles whilst watching and Kylo seemed terrified of the nerve on his little sister as he chased after them.

They were all in a much better mood and were feeling more relaxed.

Gray's sprint was interrupted however as he suddenly bumped into someone, causing them to spill their drink on the floor.

"Ah Sorry." Gray apologized with a nervous look.

Once he glanced at the the person's face however, his eyes widened.

"Holy shit… No way, Is that you, Gray?" The person asked.

Never would he have expected to have encountered this person again. It was his classmate, or more precisely, one of the people who bullied him throughout his years in school.

Short spiky black hair, with piercings all over his ears. He had sharp black eyes, and emitted the bad boy aura from the way he was dressed. He wore shorts and a vest which hi lighted his defined muscles. Muscles which Gray had lost count of the amount of torture it had caused him.

A group of boys who had just come out of the same store as said person, called out to him.

"Hey, Luke! What happened to your drink? Lol." Said one of them.

Gray turned to the voice, only to see it was even more of his classmates. There were three in total, the tallest towering over him through his height as he approached. He was the biggest and baddest of them all. Axel.

His snow white hair, dyed red throughout the edges, and sharp white eyes. His ripped body and bulging muscles could be seen highlighted cross his tight shirt.

Being one of the best players on the football team and his looks, He was the most popular boy in the school, just based on his Aura alone, he had been given the title of lone wolf. Some even went as far as calling him King.

But on top of being all of those things, there was one other thing which he also excelled at. And that was bullying.

Why? Because he felt like it. No one would mess with him or annoy him in any way, in fact everyone showed respect. Despite that, if he was in a bad mood or just wanted to release some stress, he'd grab a victim.

And who was his number one victim, you might ask? It was no other than Gray.

With his hair covering his expression, Gray turned away from them and began heading towards, Aurora and the kids who were waiting with her.

The group, confused, watched as Gray's back faded into the distance.

————————

"Who was that your friends?" Aurora asked.

With his hair still covering his expression, Gray walked on without replying. He placed his palm on his face as he muttered.

"That was bad… If I had stayed there any longer… I really might have killed them."
