106 Chapter 105: A jealous elf

Name:Part Wolf Author:obsessedWithWolves
The girls were sitting at the bar, overlooking the dancefloor. Loud music was playing in the background, and bodies were squirming against each other before them. The prince and the future Duke could be seen talking seriously with some people at the other end of the room. As soon as they were left alone, they had started bombarding each other with questions. At first, it was Elize's turn to ask the questions. It turned out that Agatha and Legolas had feelings for each other. And now it was Elize's turn to answer.

"I don't think it's love." She said dismissively, "I think he just sees me as a challenge since I don't entertain him as some other girls do."

Agatha looked at her as if she was crazy. Shaking her head, the witch asked, "Whatever it is, you do understand that this is going to complicate things between you and Zack, right?"

Elize shook her head. "No. Zack is my mate. Lloyd is just...." She trailed off, thinking.

Who was Lloyd to her? She didn't really know, except for the fact that he made her feel better about herself. He had been there to protect her when she was threatened. He had kept her secret. Apart from his incessant flirting, she couldn't find anything to dislike in him. So what was he to her?

"Just what?" Agatha asked, looking at her curiously.

"I don't know..." Elize said with a shrug, "A friend, maybe?"

Agatha reached out to her with a worried expression. Taking hold of her hand, she said, "Elize, you're playing with fire here. If Zack knows-"

"I have a clear conscience, Agatha." Elize said, reassuring her friend, "Now tell me, what do you mean by calling him a dragon prince?"

Agatha turned towards the waiter and motioned him to get her another cocktail. Finally satisfied after a sip of the drink, she started speaking.

"It means that Prince Irving has the soul of a dragon, although he has the body of a Kelpie. Dragons are rare occurrences. They are meant to be the rightful rulers- just and powerful. It's been at least a thousand years since a dragon appeared on earth. Usually, a dragon's birth comes straight after the death of the chosen one as per the legends. But this time.." Agatha trailed off, looking hesitantly at the girl sitting next to her.

"This time, we're here together." Elize completed the sentence.

The witch nodded in agreement. "Yes. I don't know if it's a good sign or a bad one. All I know is that so many anomalies are occurring during our time." She said, looking towards the dancing crowd.

"What else?" Elize prodded.

Two rocks- Elize corrected her friend in her mind. As the information slowly sunk in, she couldn't help but think about the possible connections between all of them. There must be a good reason for all of this to happen. She remembered the prophecy. It seemed to posit in the body of the Chosen One, the ability to deliver the Island from an impending disaster. But the dragon was not in any way connected to the Island. Then how were their fates intertwined at all? There must be something that she didn't know yet- a missing piece to the puzzle, Elize thought to herself.

"What are you low- lives talking about?" A familiar voice interrupted her thoughts.

She turned towards the direction and saw a certain she-elf standing behind them with a tall glass of champagne in her hand.

"Go away Aerin. Agatha is not interested to talk to you right now." Elize said, dismissively waving her away.

Aerin chuckled. With an evil smile, she said, "I'm not worried about the witch. Legolas will soon get bored with her and leave." Narrowing her eyes at Elize, she continued, "I'm actually here for you."

"Me?" Elize asked, surprised.

She wondered what the girl had against her.

"Yes, you -you ugly mutt." Aerin spat.

Elize looked at the elf standing in front of her as if she was crazy. Why was she so worked up all of a sudden?

"Take it back. You'll regret it." Agatha warned casually, setting her drink down.

"Tch. Shut it, blondie." Aerin said, pointing at Agatha.

"You're blonde too, you know," Elize said with a shrug.

"You-" Aerin shouted angrily, staring daggers at her. "You stay away from the prince! He's mine!"

Elize couldn't stop laughing after she witnessed the outburst. The girl must be crazy to assume such stuff. When did she ever show interest in him?

"He's all yours. I don't want him." She said, finally managing to calm herself down.

Aerin smirked at the reply. Pointing to her dress, she asked, "Then why are you wearing the coat that I bought for him two months back?"

"Because I thought it looked good on me," Elize replied with a mischievous smile.

If the girl was going to be a bitch, she knew how to be worse, she thought to herself. The very next second, Aerin threw her glass down in anger. With a wild look on her face, the she-elf charged at her. Elize leaned back in surprise.

"Take it off bitch!" Aerin screamed, grabbing the coat by its collar.

"You better take your hands off of her," Agatha warned, narrowing her eyes at the girl.

The elf was going to say something back when someone called her from behind.

"Aerin?"

The girl turned back with a huge smile on her face, quickly letting go of her grip on the coat. Elize straightened her clothes, covering her exposed legs hastily. She had recognized the voice too. And it had already started to fill her mouth with a sour taste.

"Eun Ae! Jin!" Aerin exclaimed, stepping forward to hug the newcomers.

Eun Ae and Jin? So maybe Zack refused to come with her, she thought hopefully. Elize looked towards the group, relief spreading through her as she couldn't spot her mate anywhere near them.

"Elize?" Eun Ae asked, stepping toward her.

There was a confused look on her face. As if she hadn't expected her to be here.

"You know each other?" Aerin asked, raising her brows.

"Not really." Eun Ae replied, glancing at her and Agatha coldly.

Elize was unbothered by the coldness. She was bathing in the joy of Zack being absent from the group. he had finally warded off the evil desires of the girl! She thought to herself gleefully. But that happiness didn't last long as the scent of forest and honey hit her suddenly. She looked around in surprise.

"Elize! You're here too!" Nina exclaimed, appearing out of nowhere.

"Hey, Nina," Elize replied with a distracted smile.

Nina quickly came forward and wrapped her in a warm hug. She looked her up and down in appreciation.

She exclaimed, "Gosh! You look so stunning in that shade of lipstick! Where did you-" Nina paused, stepping back from her in confusion. Crinkling her nose, she pointed towards the coat, and she asked, "Whose coat is this? It smells funny."

Before she could reply to that, someone else answered it for her.

"That would be mine," Lloyd said, appearing behind them.

The whole group, except for Elize, dropped down on their knees as soon as they saw him.

"Prince Irving." They acknowledged in unison.

The Kelpie waved dismissively. Walking towards where she was sitting, he said, "Don't bother. I'm here to have fun. I'm tired of all the greetings. Let's drop the formalities for tonight." He paused, taking the seat next to Elize. Turning to her with a warm smile, he asked, "Right Elize?"

Elize smiled awkwardly. "Well-"

Everyone stood up one by one, straightening their clothes. Their curious gazes landed on the prince and the girl next to him. Though the Kelpie had a reputation of being a flirt, this was the first time that he had taken someone to one of his lavish parties or even allowed a girl to sit next to him like that. Elize sat next to him, ignorant of such intricacies. Her distracted gaze glanced over the crowd, again and again, searching for someone. Her heart dropped as she spotted him moving towards their group.

Zack was dressed in a black tux. As he walked through the crowd, heads turned to look at him appreciatively. The eyes of many remained on his back long after he had passed them. Zack looked like a mighty God, walking through a sea of devotees. His gaze was fixed on her, ignorant of everything and everyone that he passed. Elize felt her heartbeat quicken as she was drawn into his magnetic gaze. Her blood hummed in happiness, sensing her mate's presence. But her heart was filled with pain, knowing that he had come due to the insistence of someone that she was now coming to hate with every inch of her being. Tears threatened to fall from her eyes, as he came to stand next to Jin, his eyes still on her.

She saw him tense, as he spotted Lloyd next to her. His expression hardened as he shifted his attention to the Kelpie.

Spotting him, Eun Ae waved him forward excitedly. "Oh, Zack! Come here! This is Prince-"

"Irving, I know," Zack said through clenched jaws.

Elize looked at him confusedly. How did they know each other? She wondered. There was a hint of jealousy that she could sense through their bond.
