Chapter 79 - NOT EDITED YET

Name:Our Throne Author:KenceRussel
Imperial Palace

Throne Room

Sitting on his throne, the Emperor of the Empire can be seen. He usually has a dignified aura around him but as of right now, if one were to stare at his face, they would be able to see signs of nervousness

As for the reason why he was nervous? It was because of a certain someone kneeling below the platform

In it, Ryden and his wife can be seen. They are showing utmost respect for the Emperor but deep inside them, not even the least bit of respect is present to be given to the Emperor

They were just acting as to not put themselves on danger

However, even though Ryden seemed to be respectful and is lowering himself, the Emperor still does not feel good

In the past, this illegitimate child of his has always also acts like this. In some sense, aside from his status, he is a good child that is respectful and is also different from his brothers that are coveting the Throne

If it was before, the Emperor would just treat Ryden as a pushover child of his. But now, things are completely different

Ryden's brand as a madman earned the Emperor's fear

The Emperor would rather face an intelligent man since with his position, no matter how intelligent a man is, they would still never do harsh things

However, a madman is completely different. Angering such a person might trigger him into attacking everything he could see

In fact, instances like that already happened as Ryden losing his mind and having an episode in front of the Duke of Rothland has already spread

If he can do that to a Duke and although the Emperor is superior, who is to say that Ryden cannot do the same to him

As such, there are many Knights that were present inside the Throne Room to save the Emperor in case Ryden went mad

However, the Emperor knew that even these skillful Knights might not be enough to save him from Ryden's hands

The Emperor is naturally aware of Ryden's ability to massacre an entire army by himself

As long as there is no enough number of Knights, no one would be able to defeat sich a wargod that turned mad

With that being the case, how can the Emperor not feel even a bit of fear?

"M-my child, for what you have visited me despite your busy schedule? There is no need for this"

This time, the Emperor's tone was warmer than usual. He was unconsciously trying to be good to Ryden as to not trigger him though his words seems to be saying that he don't want Ryden to visit him

"Your Majesty, please pardon my visit. I merely want to Your Majesty again before I set off" Ryden replied causing the Emperor to raise his brows

"Set off? Is there any place in the Empire that you wish to go? Just name it and I'll make sure that you will receive the best welcome!" The Emperor said

He and the capital would be safer if Ryden were to be send away. It's just that he cannot do that before since Ryden wants to rest and spend time with his wife. If his good time was interrupted then he might came charging at the Palace and kill all the people in it

As such, the Emperor wants to use this time to send Ryden far away from him

"Your Majesty, I have decided to return to my fief now" Ryden said and the Emperor's eyes glowed

If Ryden is returning to his fief then that is great!

Originally, the Emperor sent his eldest son to one of the border cities of the Empire to defend it from the monsters

However, despite the support that the 1st Prince has, his performance is still far from satisfactory

In the past, it was Ryden that was sent into the borders and after making sure that one border city is safe again, he would then be send to another city of the border

However, even until now, the city that the 1st Prince was sent is still not completely safe. This made the other border cities neglected and they became chaotic

If Ryden is going back to the Isondale City then could the Emperor have him clean the borders again

However, before the Emperor can suggest of it, Ryden already spoke again

"I wosh to be of service to Your Majesty and the Empire. As such, I am going to do everything I can to make my fief become stronger and more prosperous. With my sword, I would cut down anyone that tries to stop me from doing so!" Ryden said with a serious tone, even a hint of killing intent was leaking out from him

As such, the Emperor can only shut his mouth. Ryden said that he wants to make his fief prosper and will kill anyone that tries to stop him

If the Emperor were to send him in different border cities then wouldn't that be the same as stopping Ryden from doing 'service' to his fief?

The Emperor don't want to risk being a target of such a madman. And anyway, the reason why he sent the 1st Prince was for him to gain experience and show that he is a capable alpha that can inherit the Throne

If he performed well then good, the seat of the Crowned Prince is almost his already. But if not and he continued to be a fool then the Emperor will choose another Prince as he don't lack of them

"Alright. I am looking forward to what the Isondale City would become in your hands. Make sure to do your best" the Emperor said and he hopes that Ryden would just stay at his fief forever

"I thank Your Majesty. This Prince would make sure not to disappoint you" Ryden said and with the matter done, he was hurriedly dismissed by the Emperor and he returned to his Manor with Clyde

———-

"Boss, do I really have to stay here?" David asks with a pout. He was also a soldier and the only reason why he stayed in the Manor was for his boss and his wife

Now that they are going to return in the Isondale City, naturally, he also wants to go with them

"You can't, you are the only one we can trust to maintain the Manor and be our eyes" Ryden said

He already explained to his good friend the situation since even Clyde judged that David is trustworthy

As such, as much as Ryden wants David to go with them so that when he is not around, there is still a powerful guard that can prevent Clyde from being in harm

Too bad that their trusted manpower is lacking. There is Kervy but naturally, Clyde and Ryden would not trust him a hundred percent

"Boss, hurry and find a new housekeeper so that I could fight with you again!" David can only give up and say that

He hopes that he would have a replacement soon

"Alright, alright, I will keep that in mind!" Ryden replied before he boarded the carriage where Clyde was already waiting for them

After more than a week since the incident, Clyde more or less recovered since Ryden didn't care about how much money he would pay to heal his wife as soon as possible

In this frame of time, the agitated minds of the two also already calmed down a bit. But even then, they are still set on dirtying their hands for the sake of survival

Clyde thought that he was thinking too naively in the past. Ryden is already a wargod and he has many comrades in the borders

In the first place, Ryden's strongest point was his military prowess. Clyde should have utilized that from the start and did not try to raise their status using money and politics

Fortunately, it was not too late yet before he realizes it

The Isondale City is prone to attack from monsters but at the same time, since Clyde and Ryden's real enemies were real humans, that city is much safer

Ryden has many trusted and skillful comrades in there and they could help fend of the attacks from the Nobles or the Empress

After all, commoner soldiers most of the time have bad impression over the Nobles and Royalty

Ryden might be a royalty but his comrades feel pity for him. He is a Prince yet because of the commoner blood that he has, he was treated as a tool of war

Those experienced soldiers sympathizes with Ryden. They have the strength, experience, and also the dislike for the people in High Society. Aren't they the ones that Clyde and Ryden should form a strong bond and not the Nobles?

If they have a large number of loyal soldiers in command then even the Imperial Family would think twice before touching them

Clyde was too naive before to not think about this
