Chapter 32 - C

If David were to have a wife as charming as Clyde, he too would be desperate. David would also find anyone that can help him make his wife forgive him so that they could have another 'sexy time'

'Boss is really amazing. Not only was he a war god, he even have such a beautiful and gentle wife!' David thought in his heart

"Hello" Clyde didn't forget his manners as he also greeted the unknown guest that his husband has

"Hehehe, hello, Your Highness!" David greeted back in a goofy manner. He tried to give Clyde a pleasant smile but with how big his head and face was, he only looks like a giant silly bear

"My apologies, I want to give you more time with His Highness. I didn't know that the guest would stay until this time. If I was aware, I would ask the servant to prepare foo—" Clyde was continuing his act of a gentle and virtuous wife but just as he was about to finish his sentence, his eyes landed on the empty plates of food

The number of plates causes Clyde to blink his eyes repeatedly. He was ashamed of not serving food for the guest since he was avoiding Ryden but after seeing those plates, all the shame that he has vanishes

Just how many guests does Ryden have today? How come the number of emptied plates are enough to feed an entire family

However, there is only Ryden and the guest at the dining table. Clyde also knows that there is only one guest that arrives. What's with this ridiculously high number of plates?

After sensing Clyde's gaze, David coughed awkwardly with his cheeks reddening a bit

It was shameful to let such a charming person as Clyde see just how much David can eat

"T-that... I-I didn't eat properly for days and I c-can't help it, Y-Your Highness" David made an excuse as to prevent losing so much face in front of a beauty

"N-no, that's fine. You are His Highness's guest, you can eat as much as you want" Clyde replied with a cough

This was the first time that he saw how much a person can eat. Is David's stomach a bottomless hole?

"Wife, my friend here would stay with us for the time being. Is that alright with you?" Ryden ask gently

If not for Clyde already used at wearing his mask, he might look at Ryden in a weird way

With Ryden's personality, wouldn't he just let David stay in the Manor without saying it to Clyde with the thinking that it wasn't a big deal to find the trouble of informing his wife?

How come Ryden suddenly grew some tact and not only did he inform Clyde, he even ask for his opinion which was a respectful thing to do

Although Clyde was weirded out, if Ryden really became tactful then that is a piece of good news. As such, his earlier resentment towards his husband diminished greatly

"Of course, that is perfectly fine with me, Your Highness" Clyde replied with a smile

As Ryden is already used to seeing that fake smile that Clyde gave to everyone, the former is sure that that smile is not the same

It was Clyde's genuine smile!

Seeing progress already, Ryden can't help but praise his friend inside his heart. He even starts to think that he must make sure David would stay with him in the manor for as long as possible

Look at how helpful that friend of his was!

David said that although Ryden is the Prince and the husband, he should not act overbearing

To make the wife genuinely like him, he must not make Clyde feel little

Ryden wants to scoff when he heard that. After all, isn't it Clyde that always made him feel little?

However, the latter part of David's words were still very helpful. David told him that he must be respectful and think of Clyde as an equal partner and don't just decide things on his own

As a result of that, Ryden informed and also ask for Clyde's opinion regarding David's stay in the Manor

"The guest might be tired now. Let the maids show you to the guest room" Ryden said while giving David a look

David, fortunately, is not as tactless as Ryden and he understood what his boss meant

While laughing inside him at how obvious his boss was being, David nodded his head

"Yes, yes. I traveled a long time to get here. I badly need a rest" David agreed, completely lying

With how robust his body was, even if he were to travel for half a year, the fatigued might still not be unbearable for him

However, for the sake of his boss, David can only cut off his reunion with his good brother and he let the maid guide him to one of the Manor's guestroom leaving only Clyde and Ryden in the dining room

"Are you sure that he can be trusted?" Clyde ask as soon as he made sure that there is no other people around

He can't help but be suspicious of everyone. After all, even Clyde can't 100% guarantee that a person is on their side and not a spy from other people, especially of the Empress

"We have been good brothers for years now. He even shielded me from death a few times already. You can check his body for wounds. He got some of those as a result for blocking for my sake" Ryden reassured him

Ryden would never think that David is a spy and would betray him. After all, they are life and death brothers!

"It's good if that is the case but we must still be careful, alright?" Clyde gently reminded him

If it was any other time, Ryden would scoff at him. Pigs that can fly appearing has an even higher probability than David betraying him

However, after the 'pep talk' that Ryden had with David, he controlled himself

Ryden nodded his head. "Alright, I'll listen to you"

For the second time, Clyde look at his husband with an incredulous look on his face

Seriously? What did Ryden eat today?

As if not sensing the weird gaze that Clyde is giving him, Ryden just smiled

"Are you hungry? I'll ask the servants to prepare food now" Ryden said and the still surprised Clyde can only nod his head

Clyde watched as his husband called a maid and whispered something in that maid's ear before Ryden returned to his side

"The dinner would still take some time to be served. Why don't we stroll around the garden first?" Ryden suggested and Clyde can only nod his head

As he was still in shock, before Clyde knew it, he was already guided by his husband into the garden

The evening wind was a bit chilly and Clyde can't help but shudder a bit

After noticing that, Ryden removed his coat and placed it on Clyde's shoulders to help shield him from the cold

"What the.. do you have a fever or something? Why are you being kind tonight?" Clyde questioned, feeling goosebumps all over his body

He was too used to Ryden's normal personality and the one in front of him doesn't feel like his husband at all

"What are you saying? As your husband, I naturally must be kind to you, silly" Ryden said with a chuckle, he even lightly flicked the other man's forehead

As it wasn't even painful, Clyde wouldn't make a fuss about the forehead flick but he is sure that there was really something wrong with his husband

Did someone abduct and impersonated Ryden without his knowledge? That thought just appeared inside Clyde's mind before he immediately threw it away

With how powerful Ryden was, how can anyone abduct him without making a commotion?

If there really is someone that can abduct Ryden, it certainly wouldn't be a silent abduction

"With how kind you are right now, I feel like you'll do something bad to me any second from that" Clyde accused, expecting to receive a negative reaction but Ryden merely chuckled at him

"You're just imagining things" Ryden replied before he changed the topic

"Anyway, do you want to stroll around the city tomorrow? We aren't exactly the type of people that explored the Empire, we still haven't seen a lot of things and place" Ryden suggested, lowkey asking Clyde to go on a date with him

Clyde sank in deep thought. Although Ryden was being weird tonight, he was also right

Clyde is an illegitimate omega of the Duke and he can only go outside whenever there are public events. That was to show the Duke's 'kindness' as he treat even an illegitimate omega properly

As for Ryden, his whole life in the Empire was spent fighting,  fighting, and fighting. Where would he have time for a stroll and sightseeing?

Both of them don't have the chance of enjoying what this world could offer to them
