29 A White Lie

Qi Tang smirked evilly, showing his canine teeth, "Why are you so interested in the Han Family all of a sudden?"

Qi Feng swallowed her words as she shook her head, "...It's nothing, it's just that my deskmate looks quite similar to Aunt Han so I asked.."

As she entered the manor, Mo Xuanji felt anticipation and excitement in her heart.

As soon as she entered, Auntie Hu greeted her with a kind smile and helped her with her backpack.

A soft and sweet voice then floated over to her ears, "Dad, Mom, you should rest assured.. I'll do my best! I hope that little sister, Xuanxuan can also enter the company after she completes her studies.."

She was none other than Mo Jian, her elder sister.

After a while, she heard someone knocking on her door. It was her mother.

Mo Xuanji wiped the tears off her face as she quickly tossed her bag aside and crumpled the test paper into a ball as she threw it in the dustbin.

She then lied down on the bed as she buried herself under her covers.

Her mother, Wen Anxia, entered the room and saw the big bump on the bed and frowned in disappointment.

She put down Mo Jian's notes on the desk carefully before turning to the big bump on the bed and roaring with anger.

"Aiya, why are you being so disrespectful?! Your sister rarely comes home and when she does, you don't even come down to greet her!"

"The moment you return from school, you're sleeping, you lazy bum! Don't tell me that you failed the test again! You're really the stain of our Mo Family! Humph!"

She then stormed off the room in a fit of anger and closed the door with a loud bang. Once she heard the door closing, the tense Mo Xuanji relaxed.

She lied like that for a while before tears started running down her cheeks.
