Chapter 54

Su Xiaoxiao opened the lid and drank the Oldenlandia in small gulps. Cheng Nuo looked at her fearfully.

“Cheng Nuo,” said Su Xiaoxiao softly.

“Hmm?” replied Cheng Nuo. “What’s the matter?”

Su Xiaoxiao hesitated slightly but she tightened her fist and made up her mind.

She poured all the snacks on the stone table before looking up at Cheng Nuo and saying, “Cheng Nuo, I want to sell all these snacks!”

Huh!?

Cheng Nuo was extremely confused and looked at Su Xiaoxiao from head to toe. That was strange. Su Xiaoxiao was a foodie, but she was willing to sell her snacks? Did she take the wrong medicine today??!

“Do you have a fever!?” Cheng Nuo said after touching Su Xiaoxiao’s forehead.

Su Xiaoxiao rolled her eyes and counted with her fingers. “Cheng Nuo, look, the things here are priced four to five times more than the usual price. If I sold it at a price that was only twice the normal price, many people would buy my food!”

“Hold on, let me calculate.” Su Xiaoxiao started to count the snacks on the table and said, “There are 21 packs of snacks here—five packs of chips, one pack of rice crackers, two packs of pistachios… I bought the chips at 5 Yuan per pack, so we will sell it at ten… In total, we can earn 125 Yuan!”

125 Yuan!

Su Xiaoxiao smiled when she got the number.

“125 Yuan is enough for me to buy a lot more snacks!”

Su Xiaoxiao cheered and tugged on Cheng Nuo’s clothes while acting pitiful. “Cheng Nuo, help me sell the snacks, please? Rest assured, I will not mistreat you. I will give you 20 Yuan to thank you after we sell out!”

Su Xiaoxiao waved her hands and said proudly. She was someone who was about to make big money. She did not care about losing 20 Yuan. However… Hmm, she could buy a few packs of chips with 20 Yuan!

Cheng Nuo smiled and agreed to Su Xiaoxiao’s idea.

There was a saying that went “for a deal, if one could make a 10% profit, it would be used everywhere; if one could make a 20% profit, it would become popular; if one could make a 50% profit, it was dangerous; if one could make a 100% profit, it would triumph all laws of humanity; if one could make a 300% profit, it was so risky that one would commit any crime to do it.”

Now, there was a 100% profitable deal in front of him. Although Su Xiaoxiao only had snacks in mind, she could not resist the temptation of this deal.

The reason why Su Xiaoxiao had dragged Cheng Nuo along was because she was shy and not confident. On the other hand, Cheng Nuo was someone who had experience with selling things and nothing would go wrong under his advice.

“What are the two of you planning to do?” asked Jiang Qingqing when she saw Cheng Nuo and Su Xiaoxiao stand up.

“Oh, Xiaoxiao wants to sell the snacks. I am going to help her,” explained Cheng Nuo briefly. Jiang Qingqing looked at him in envy. She had never thought about this idea.

However, Mu Leng was used to it. The memories of the three of them selling plush toys at the bridge were still extremely vivid. Nevertheless, she did not expect the two of them to expand their business to the mountain.

“How about… I should help you guys too,” said Jiang Qingqing after hesitating.

It was her first time being a street vendor! She was curious and wanted to experience it. Moreover, as classmates, they ought to help each other.

“Hmm then let’s go together!” Cheng Nuo smiled and nodded.

After Jiang Qingqing asked, Hao Shuai and Mu Leng also joined the team.

Cheng Nuo found a relatively empty space at the rest stop and placed the 20 over bags of snacks down.

A 40-year-old middle-aged man beside them who sold cup noodles, ham, and mineral water asked while fanning himself with a fan, “What are you students doing?”

“Uncle, we are students who are broke. So we came to sell some snacks,” answered Cheng Nuo while smiling.

However, after Cheng Nuo said that, the man’s expression changed immediately. He turned to attend to his customers and ignored Cheng Nuo.

Cheng Nuo was confused but did not bother with it. They spread out the cloth in Cheng Nuo’s bag and poured the snacks on it.

The “Xiaoxiao Snack Bar” had officially opened for business!

After a while, none of the hikers came forward to approach them.

“Why isn’t anybody coming?” Jiang Qingqing did not understand as it was her first time selling things.

Cheng Nuo replied, “I think people don’t know that we are selling the snacks, since we are dressed like students.”

“Then what should we do?” asked Jiang Qingqing.

Cheng Nuo, the experienced one, said, “Let me do some shouting.”

Cheng Nuo thought that he had to take action if he wanted business to improve.

He shouted at the top of his lungs.

“Selling snacks! Selling snacks! It is only twice as expensive as the market price! We are selling the snacks which you can get for 5 Yuan for only 10 Yuan here. Yes, only 10 Yuan! Only 10 Yuan!”

Mu Leng was speechless.

Jiang Qingqing was speechless.

The middle-aged man was speechless.

Hmm, although it made sense, it sounded really awkward!

Cheng Nuo did not stop shouting.

“Others are selling their things at four to five times the market price. Our stall will not accept any bargains. All the snacks are only twice as expensive as market price! We will not cheat your money! Only twice as much! Twice as much! What are you waiting for, come and buy now!”

The public finally realized that something was wrong.

Yes, although the things sold on the mountain were more expensive than the normal price, Cheng Nuo was shouting as though it was worth boasting about.

Even if it was twice as much as market price, it was still more expensive! Cheng Nuo made it sound as though they were being nice, but they were ultimately still exploiting the customers.

“Cheng Nuo… Cheng Nuo, I don’t think it’s good for you to phrase it like that,” Mu Leng said while drowning.

“What’s wrong?” Cheng Nuo smiled and pointed at the few people in front of them. “Look, we have customers.”

Although what Cheng Nuo had done seemed unreliable, he had put it out and attracted attention. Everyone at the rest area knew that Cheng Nuo was selling snacks that were twice as expensive as the market price. Therefore, they swarmed towards him like old ladies who saw discounted eggs in the supermarket.

“You guys are only selling things twice as expensive as the market price?” asked a young man who was about 25 years old while frowning.

“Yes. What do you want? I can help you get it!” Jiang Qingqing said as she thought they finally got a customer.
