Chapter 103 - The Secrets Of Gui Xiang

UNEDITED: Please wait for some time

No one was perfect.

No individual in this world was ever known as a man who made no mistakes.

It was the same for the Wan family. While a majority of the population of the country believed and treated the Wan family as the nation builders, the rest had a different opinion, questioning the integrity of the ruthless warriors who did everything in their power and authority to make their country the greatest in the world, without thinking about the right and wrong.

Unfortunately, Wan Yi Jun had only met the very few people who saw his family in a negative light.

Even after moving to another country, he couldn't escape from his fate.

"Let's go." Han Ze Min grabbed Wan Yi Jun's arm and dragged him away from the foul-mouthed Oldman, who blamed his cousin.

No matter how much he hated Wan Yi Jun, he never allowed a stranger to hurt his cousin.

"You were, right. We were indeed silent spectators of terrible things that happened here." Zhu Yuhai admitted as he watched the two young men walk away from him.

Hearing such a confession from the man who kept provocating others, letting down his guard before everyone else, Han Ze Min unknowingly stopped in his tracks,

"Hmm?" Han Ze Min raised his eyebrows in confusion,

"Everyone in this village was involved until the day fire broke out in the asylum."

"Elder Mao!!!" Zhu Yuhai almost screamed in fear when he heard the village elder confessing the secret they had hidden from the world for all these years.

"What did we achieve after hiding it from everyone? Nothing. So please, keep your mouth shut."

And the patients?"

"We could only rescue a few of them, and the rest either burnt to death or fell into the sea."

"What about the people in charge?"

"The chief in charge and half of the workers died in the fire breakout itself."

"Any survivors?"

"No, most of the workers were from Zhi Ruo."

"Were Hu Geng Xin was a part of it?"

"His father was, but he died when Hu Geng Xin was around fourteen or fifteen. He just lived in that hut, did every work he could find and lived like if he wasn't part of this world."

"How come you two share a special bond? As far as we know, natives from Zhi Ruo was looked down upon by everyone here."

"He was different. He wasn't spiteful like his father or anyone else in this village."

"Until someone makes him the monster he doesn't want to be."

"Hmm. He was nice but could be the worse if he got pushed into his limits."

Do you know where did he go?"

"I don't know."

"You were like a father figure to him."

"He found a friend, a delivery van driver who used to take fish to imperial."

"Do you know his name?"

"Ren Xianqi, both of them went to the imperial together."

"One last question, the one who pushed him to limits, who was it? Shu Lili or Song Jia?"

"I swear I will kill him if gets into some trouble." Wan Yi Jun cussed out as he sprang up from his seat, with his handsome face flaring in anger. He was already frustrated by Han Ze Min's reckless decision to go out in the evening without informing anyone, but going out at the night cannot be encouraged, especially at a place like this.

"I will go and check his room." Shen Junru volunteered to lead the searching party and immediately stood up from the seat,

"Or you could look in the balcony? I saw him there when I came out for dinner." Bing Wen added just as he saw Shen Junru going upstairs to look for Han Ze Min.

"He was there with me during the dinner, and after that, suddenly he just disappeared." Fei Yan spoke in a doubtful tone and tried to recall what Han Ze Min said before leaving his side.

"Ahhh...now I remember, he said that he has to make an important call."

Just as those words fell from Fei Yan's mouth, everyone took out their phones and began to call Han Ze Min, who went missing.

"His phone is engaged." Bing Wen informed them and checked his phone's screen once again,

"Didn't he say that his phone doesn't have any proper network? He must have been gone outside."

"What the.. bloody actual..F!!!!!" Wan Yi Jun cursed again and stormed outside, leaving his bewildered team members behind.

"Please tell me I'm not the only one who heard it." Bing Wen asked his fellow teammates, who had the same mortified look on their faces, upon hearing something unexpected.

"Of course, he curses." Shen Junru robotically stated as he stared in the direction where Wan Yi Jun went out, " People curse when they are under stress or disappointed..."

"Or angry." Lao Yating added and quickly exchanged glances with his teammates, only to run after Wan Yi Jun.

"Oh God, please save officer Han." Bing Wen prayed and bolted out of the guest house.

"Han Ze Min!!!!" Wan Yi Jun yelled at the top of his lungs as he walked into the darkness. Unlike the daytime, the guest house and its surroundings appeared eerie and empty in the night, giving off a spooky vibe in the air.

Under the tiny stream of their phone's flashlight, the rest of the eagle team, who was a bit late to follow their captain, loudly shouted Han Ze Min's name.

Lao Yating and Bing Wen followed Wan Yi Jun, who almost sprinted towards the beach as if he was a front runner aiming for the championship.

"How can he run so fast?" Bing Wen, who couldn't catch up with Wan Yi Jun, wondered as he panted while running through the soft sand on the beach.

"Han Ze Min!!!!! Ze Min !!!!! Minahhhh!!!!" Wan Yi Jun's desperate voice echoed in the empty beach with the sound of hustling wind and crashing waves.

Under the faintly lit sky, his eyes subconsciously darted at the eerie outline of the old building on the cliff and the Zhu Yuhai's words,

"Damn it." Even Wan Yi Jun knew what came into you, he quickly leaped in the direction calling out loud for Han Ze Min.

If something happens to Han Ze Min, too, he won't be able to live the rest of his life in peace.

"No, that won't happen." Wan Yi Jun mumbled in his head and glanced around for any human presence,

"Mina-" His voice broke when he noticed a tiny bluish-white streak of light, not so far from him.

For a moment, Wan Yi Jun's brain stopped working when he saw a silhouette sitting on the sand dunes, talking over the call.

"Woman, why it is so hard to impress you?" Han Ze Min's sulky voice echoed in the shore, calming Wan Yi Jun's heated nerves for a mere second,

"Didn't I assure that you don't have to worry about thing...I will marry...that's-" Even before Han Ze Min could complete his words, Wan Yi Jun grabbed his collar and lifted the guy on call with no delay,

Han Ze Min who didn't expected anything like that, almost elbowed Wan Yi Jun in the ribs, thinking that he got attacked by a random stranger.

"Yaaa...what the hell....are you doing?" He shouted at the man who was glaring at him with murderous intent. "Have you gone mad?"

"What the hell are you doing here?" Wan Yi Jun didn't hesitate as he retorted and snatched the earphones from the other. No wonder,  Han Ze Min didn't hear the hassle that was going around him.

" Wandering in an unknown place, that too in the darkness? What if something happens to you? What if you get mugged or kille?" Wan Yi Jun couldn't even control his anger as he began to scold his cousin, so harshly that even Han Ze was left dumbfounded by the action.

"Yaa...I'm not a kid...I can take care..." Han Ze Min tried to reason his decision to take walk before going to bed. However that wasn't enough to convince Wan Yi Jun who was shaking in fury. Even though they treat each other coldly, there was a bit of care and affection left in them, which voluntarily made the brothers look out for each other other.

"Oh yeah...you are not kid....even kids won't be this dumb." Wan Yi Jun spat out an insult at the man who had no idea why is he getting scolded. "Enough with your wander. Go back to your room..."

"What's wrong with you? Acting so bossy and ordering around?" Han Ze Min who couldn't comprehend the sudden change in Wan Yi Jun's aloof character, seethed at him in the same tone.

"What's wrong with you, you stupid little prick?" Wan Yi Jun let out his mouth run without any control and cursed at the other, once again.
