Chapter 64 - The Wandering Ghost

UNEDITED VERSION: PLEASE WAIT FOR 1 HOUR

After Wan Yi Jun's constant efforts to convince the construction workers that no ghosts are wandering in the wisteria gardens, the renovation works finally started.

When the workers realized that the girl whom they mistook as a ghost in the haunted house, turned out to be the maid of the house, they couldn't help, but laugh at their mistake.

Though they felt a little better after hearing that "Human beings" do live in the mansion, the deep-rooted fear in their mind never ended, and thus, they have decided to work in groups instead of going into the different parts of the house.

Since Ming Yue stayed at the mansion, supervising the renovation during the day, most of the young men among the construction workers were excited to stay close to her.

Indeed, a beautiful woman's company made them forget their fears at least

I still can't believe we all mistook an angel like a girl, as a ghost? How can Miss Ming be a ghost? She is an absolute beauty."

"I never mistook as her a ghost. You guys were the ones who flee from here out of fear."

"When are you going to install the security cameras?"

"It's done by the electrical team, they will be here at any moment."

"How many of them are coming and will they be able to finish it today itself?"

"Mostly, three or four electricians will be there. But since this mansion is quite big, there will be more people."

"Hmmm, please do inform me when they reach here."

"Miss Ming, how will I inform you if you won't give me your phone number?"

"I don't have a phone."

"Huh?"

"That's young master's phone."

"Why are you trying so hard? She is clearly not interested in you."

"Well, nothing wrong in asking for. What if gets lucky."

"People like us, we will never get lucky. You have seen the young master of this mansion, haven't you? He is the one who is going to be lucky."

"Hey, that's not possible. He is a reputed police officer."

"They are staying together in a huge mansion, even if something going between them no one will know."

"I'm damn sure that woman like her only got one goal, to seduce men and leech them off."

"I don't think so."

"No one is here, I will prove it, right now."

"Miss Ming, aren't you scared to live here after hearing all those ghosts stories?"

"No."

"Really?"

we saw something on the south side of the mansion, can you come with us and check?"

"

In the eagle team's office, Lao Yating and Fei Yan, who was in charge of collecting statements from witnesses, sat down at the table and shared everything they had found so far.

or a moment Yojiro felt that his heart stopped beating as the horror they were trying hard to avoid had finally found its way towards them.

"Ming Jiang, are you there?" The voice from the other side asked when he heard a pin drop silence from the receiver end.

Kousuke wasn't a coward but the hostile condition in a foreign country has trigged his trauma and made him a scaredy-cat.

"We collected your contact number from the Rising Ravens club's register and I assume that you have visited the club on new year eve." The police officer mentioned again,

"Yes sir. I was there when the accident happened."

"Were you alone, or did you go there with friends or someone else?"

"I went with my cousin, sir." Yojiro stuck to the basic story that they have created about their fake identities. Their identities weren't exactly fake, but the names and families were stolen from dead people.

"What's your cousin's name and where do you live?"

"His name is Lin Tian...both of us are from dragon city and currently we stay in a rental place next to the Jing university."

"Are you a student?" The police officer asked in a doubtful tone, "Will you be able to come to the south city police station and give your statement?"

"Today, sir?" Yojiro stepped into a nearby alley next to the restuarant and spoke in a lowered voice as if he was trying to keep it a secret.

"Yes, if it is possible."

"Oh...Then how about I come there? Didn't you say that you study at Jing university?" The police officer suggested as if he understood the emergency of the situation.

As soon as the police officer heard Yojiro's worry, he tried to reassure that he would make sure to avoid any hassles of a police enquiry in the university.

"You don't have to worry about it. I won't be coming in my police uniform."

"What happened?" Kousuke asked as soon as Yojiro took a seat opposite to him, "Who was that.

"Police, they want our statements." He replied and took a mouthful of cold water to calm down his nerves,

"We can't just go and give random statements. So I tried my best to delay the interrogation."

"Yes. Our stories should match each other. Otherwise, it will create to more susception." Kousuke calmly

"Actually sir, our second term admissions are going on, and it would be really hard to leave the campus premises until everything sorts out. If it is possible, can we give our statement later?" Yojiro came up with a random excuse that popped out of his mind. To be honest, he was a bit worried about meeting a police officer without discussing it with Ming Yue, since she assured them that she will take care of the case. So he was just trying to stall the time,

"Oh...Then how about I come there? Didn't you say that you study at Jing university?" The police officer suggested as if he understood the emergency of the situation.

"Sir, if a police officer comes looking for us in the university regarding a murder, everyone will mistake us. Can you please not-" Yojiro, who understood that the policeman was desperate to meet him under any circumstances, tried every possible excuse to stop the interrogation, but with believable reasons.

As soon as the police officer heard Yojiro's worry, he tried to reassure that he would make sure to avoid any hassles of a police enquiry in the university.

"You don't have to worry about it. I won't be coming in my police uniform."

"Sir, I'm a student on a charity scholarship. If someone hears that I visited the club with that money, I will be in trouble, sir." Yojiro, who was known for his aloof and silent personality, put on an innocent and naive facade of a college student and began to plead to the police officer. He tried his best to stop the police officer from meeting him at the university grounds.

"Please understand, sir, if the management knows that I misused my scholarship, they will take away whatever they gave me, and my entire future will be ruined."

"Huh, please don't worry. Let me discuss with my superiors and get back to you." The police officer consoled him and ended the conversation.

"Thank you so much, sir." He sighed and quickly returned to the restuarant.
