His eyes unconsciously twitched at the stats before him, he seemed to understand the bad premonition that he had before this. Hiding his identity in these conditions was like smashing a rock with an egg.

Futile.

Chu Yi wanted to curse the person who sent him here–all nine generations. In the cool air, he felt relaxed, the depression and gloom of the city gone, but now there was another problem— where was he.

Chu Yi struggled to stand up, the mottled rays of sunlight passed through the trees and fell onto the pure white hair. Chu Yi's eyes had stayed the same color but now his hair had become the color of snow.

Chu Yi didn't care about that, no one could see it except him, after looking around, he realized that he was in an extremely beautiful location, with green hills and small vibrant flowers that swayed in the cool breeze. Amidst the fragrance of flowers and plants, there was also a faint hint of indescribable sweetness, wandering in Chu Yi's nose.

He couldn't help but take another whiff.

"Strange, what's giving out this fragrance? It's so sweet."

The bright red eyes seemed to be covered with a layer of mist. After a moment of hesitation, he followed the scent forward. Passing through a few light bushes he traced the path to a jade green pond. The closer he got to the waters, the stronger the sweet smell. When he finally got to the edge of the pool Chi Yi was instantly able to pinpoint the source.

It was a low white marble altar that didn't belong to nature and was built artificially. From the outside, it looked like the kind of pool for birds to drink in the park. At this time, a few strange green birds were staying on the side of the altar to comb their feathers. Chu Yi did not want to disrupt the birds' rest, but he couldn't resist his curiosity about the fragrance. He sneakily made his way closer, breathing in deeply about a meter away. How sweet—

It was the fruit produced by a vibrant red plant that had been nurtured by the sun and rain. The red fruit had fermented, bringing about a richness that intertwined with its originally fresh and sweet taste. It carried the natural fragrance of wine that needed four seasons to brew, attracting and intoxicating passing creatures.

The reactions of the birds were much slower than usual. Only when the unexpected visitor came near did they think about flying away. Giving a few drunken flaps of their wings, they tumbled onto the soft grass below before struggling to get up, swaying as they hopped a few steps away.

Chu Yi was too busy to notice the birds. After tentatively scooping up a handful of the clear liquid and drinking it, he was instantly conquered by that sweetness that spread throughout his limbs.

In his drunken daze, there seemed to be a faint singing voice in the air. The song seemed to come from the heavens. At first, there was only a small whistle, and then it gradually enlarged and expanded, until it occupied his entire mind, beautiful, just like a mother earth's call.

The song of the goddess collided in the grass, one tree, one stone, and one tile in this empty forest awakened the birds, dated in the wind and all the stillness came to life. All that was able to move was quiet, the birds stopped, the wind stopped, the earth's crust stopped moving, and the bright sun no longer rose eastward.

From the forest, a golden-haired man came walking out. Peeking behind the long strands of golden silk were two pointed ears that twitched slightly at this moment.

When Li Zhen came closer, this was what he saw. On the ground were a few birds sprawled ungainly, the elf wine he had left there as bait was now empty, and there was a black-haired youth lying by the wine pool, his cheeks flushed and his eyes closed, yet there was no sign of the wine to be found.

He frowned slightly, stepping forward to investigate. That seemingly deeply asleep youth now wobbled as he sat up, studying him with a squint.

"Oh, hello." Chu Yi laughed quietly. "Are you....are you an elf?"

Li Zheng's expression did not change.

"How did you end up here?"

"Huh?"

"Were you the one who drank my wine?"

Chu Yi sat there foolishly for a moment, then drunkenly turned his head to look at the pool. It seemed as though he had to take quite some time to consider what he would do next before acting.

"Yes, it was delicious." He paused, "Is there any more?"

Ling Zheng's inner doubts deepened. He could not recall that the elf wine could get ordinary humans drunk. This type of wine was exclusively made from the guardian tree of the Elf Clan and only affected animals and young elves. However, there hasn't been any new elves in the tribes in this forest except–

[Player Chu Yi your identity is on the verge of being discovered. Please react immediately.]

The red eyes that were previously unfocused immediately snapped to attention and Chu Yi stared at the golden elf above him with some consternation. "Cough––I have a sensitive physique, so I can often get drunk by drinking–"

Ling Zheng felt that this excuse was absurd but after a moment of thought, he decided to go with it. Although he wasn't like the noble elves who looked down on humans, he still didn't care for them either. He clenched the bow tighter and glanced down at the human lying on the altar. "Are you here for the ceremony?"

"Ceremony?"

"Yes, the ceremony that we and your human empire have every year to celebrate our alliance. And every year thee are stupid fellows like you getting lost in the forest."

"Are you coming with me?"

Chu Yi weighed the pros and cons for a moment, going to the elf village would mean being more likely to be exposed to his identity. He didn't know the direct consequences of being exposed but something told him it would be unpleasant. The pros would be to reunite with Tang Shun as well as keep an eye on the progress of the others. In the end, he still decided to agree, he was never the type to avoid danger in any case and he was quite excited to play under everyone's nose.

Chu Yi nodded and struggled to get up but immediately after standing, a sudden bout of dizziness crashed into him that left the world spinning. His legs faltered and before he could react his body was sent crashing to the ground

Purely on instinct, Ling Zheng reached out and grabbed Chu Yi's wrist and strongly pulling him into his arms, "Are you humans so weak?"

Chu Yi didn't have the strength to answer, grasping onto his two strong arms, he managed to steady himself before letting go. He didn't know if it was his illusion but the minute his arms had touched another elf, there had been a faint burning sensation on his skin. As if, two incompatible elements had collided.

Ling Zheng didn't seem to have felt anything and only expressionless gripped his bow before turning away.

"The ceremony is not for another two days, it's kept on the eve of the dark moon. However, our clan usually houses the humans in the village."

Chu Yi's eyes narrowed, that was to say during these two days he must find a way to hide his identity from everyone.

At this moment, Lin Zheng suddenly stopped, the glowing green eyes shifting swiftly, one hand reached behind him and pulled an arrow from his hatchet. Slender fingers tightened strongly and the bow stretched to the limit—

Whoosh!

Chu Yi's eyes could not keep up with the trajectory of the bow, there was only a sharp flash of red in the air before there was a low thunk and a screech sounded from the thick foliage before them. His eyes strained to see further and to his surprise, a small bird with an arrow lodged into its wing was nailed to a tree. But what surprised him wasn't the bird but the color of the bird itself.

This bird was completely golden!
