21 Chapter 21: Naruto's Rage!

Naruto ran back down the hallway he came from, intent on going and beating the shit out of that Higachi guy. The more he thought about all the suffering that Ai had to go through, the more rage he felt building up within him.

"I swear, I'm going to save Ai from that bastard!" Naruto said to himself.

He ran past his cell as well as the others, then he saw the two guards in his way. Instead of hiding, he brought his hands together and created two clones. Then he jumped up and grabbed the clones and tossed them towards the guards. The clones created rasengans in their hands and slammed them into the guard's chests. The guards were slammed into the wall creating two small craters and the clones dispersed afterwards as Naruto kept running past them.

Ai had tried to catch up to Naruto, but she found that no matter how fast she ran, she couldn't catch up to him. Just how fast is he? She wondered as she continued to run. Soon she came upon the two unconscious bodies of the guards Naruto had taken care of. Their eyes were rolled up into their heads and foam fell out of their mouths. What happened here? She wondered, did Naruto do all of this? Just how strong is he? As she ran, more and more questions about Naruto filled her head. But even then, she still wanted to stop him because she knew how strong Higachi is, and no amount of guards could compare to the man. She shuddered as she thought about what Higachi would do once he got his hands on Naruto. So she pushed herself to run faster in order to stop Naruto.

Jiraiya and Kakashi had been waiting outside anxiously as they searched for the exit. Jiraiya was getting close to just dropping any form of stealth and charging in. Suddenly, they felt a rumbling beneath the earth, causing the surroundings to start shaking. The two of them were alarmed and felt that it was even more important for them to get inside of the base. However, just as Jiraiya was getting ready to rush down and tear the shrine apart in search of the hidden door, a patch of floor suddenly came up and moved to the side. Then several men in robes rushed out frantically.

"Run! Quickly! We need to get away as quickly as possible!!" One of the men shouted.

What the hell? Kakashi thought, he looked over at Jiraiya and the two of them nodded together. They rushed out and pinned down one of the fleeing robed men.

"Oof!" The man exclaimed as he was slammed face first into the ground. He struggled to look up only to find a kunai right in front of his face.

"Please don't kill me!! I'll talk, just let me go!!" The man begged.

"Quickly explain what's happening inside now!" Kakashi instructed.

The man nodded his head repeatedly. He then took a deep breath and began recounting the events.

"Everything was fine at first, but suddenly one of the subjects we caught got out." The man spoke.

Kakashi suddenly placed his kunai closer to the man's throat. "Continue explaining." Kakashi ordered.

"Yes, yes, after the subject escaped, we were on high alert as we rushed to find the escapee. That's when things started going wrong." The man continued.

-Earlier-

"What the hell is going on!?" Higachi shouted as he rushed out of his private room.

"Apologies Lord Higachi, but one of the subjects has somehow escaped." One guard informed.

"Which one!?" Higachi asked.

"It was the most recent one that we acquired, the one brought in by the Lady Yui!" The man answered.

"DAMN IT!!" Higachi shouted as he slammed his fist on a wall causing it to crack and broken pieces to fall to the ground.

The guard gulped in fear as he unconsciously took a step back.

"Well? What are you waiting for?! Find him!!" Higachi yelled.

"Yes sir!" The guard quickly turned on his heal and he ran off.

Higachi grit his teeth in irritation as he walked to Yui's room.

Naruto kept running into groups of guards, and the size of each one had been steadily increasing. Seems they're communicating with each other and are trying to gather where I am. Naruto thought as he took out another guard. In that case, let's make this more difficult for them. He crossed his fingers together.

<Multiple Shadow Clone Jutsu>

Naruto had gotten into a large circular room with pathways leading in different directions, so he created about a hundred clones.

"Alright, each of you group up and follow a different path, and continue to separate as the path splits up!" Naruto instructed to his clones.

All of his clones cheered in acknowledgement and began following the plan. He then picked a random path and began rushing down it, while his clones rushed down the other paths.

-present-

"Suddenly we started picking up requests for help all over the place with sightings of the subject across the compound!" The man said.

"Must be the shadow clone jutsu." Kakashi surmised from the information he heard.

Jiraiya nodded his head in agreement.

"Continue explaining!" Kakashi said as he pointed his kunai back at the man who shrieked as he nodded his head.

"Yes! Yes!" The man cried out. He couldn't help but wounder how his luck had gotten so low to the point of being interrogated by these two scary people, he just hoped they wouldn't notice how he wet his pants earlier.

-Earlier-

"Sir, reporting on the escaped subject!" A guard walked in and shouted.

"Well? Did you find him?" Higachi growled as he continued walking to Yui's room.

"Ummm, about that... it seems we have located the subject, but there's a problem." The man hesitantly said.

Higachi halted as he turned to face the man. "What...problem?"

"Well, the subject..... he's everywhere..." The man said.

Higachi almost exploded in anger at the man. "Well then, just gather all of them up!! It's just one kid, how hard can that be?"

"Well.... ummm.... it appears.... that he's been taking out anyone that tries to capture him..." The guard explained as he began sweating in fear.

Higachi snapped when he heard that and grabbed the guards throat and snapped his neck. Another guard nearby was trembling in fear as he watched Higachi kill the poor man who was only doing their job.

"You!" Higachi pointed at the man.

"I want you to capture the subject, and don't come back until you do!"

"YES SIR!" The guard shouted as he ran away as quickly as possible.

Higachi then continued on his way until he finally reached Yui's room, he kicked open the door and glared at Yui's figure who was sitting at her desk.

"What's your problem!?" Yui yelled.

"Is this your plan!?" Higachi yelled as he rushed and grabbed Yui by the throat.

"What are you talking about?" Yui breathed out.

"Don't play dumb bitch, the brat you brought is apparently going on a rampaging in here!!" Higachi yelled.

"And you think I had something to do about that?" Yui guessed.

"How else would some random brat be able to pull this off?!" Higachi hissed.

"Maybe because the brat was a shinobi!" Yui answered.

"What?!" Higachi shouted.

Yui then pulled out a leaf forehead protector from her pocket and showed it to Higachi who had veins popping out of his head.

"I took this from the brat when I captured him." Yui said.

Higachi squeezed tighter on Yui's neck, causing her to struggle to breathe.

"And you didn't feel it was important to tell me this fact?" Higachi slowly spoke.

"You never asked, and I assumed you were competent enough to handle one shinobi kid." Yui gasped out.

Higachi suddenly released his grip on Yui's neck, causing her to fall to her knees as she coughed. Then he squatted down in front of her as he grabbed her cheeks and held her face close to his.

"You are going to solve this problem for me, and if you don't, you can say goodbye to your little sister Ai!!" Higachi whispered.

Yui bit her lip in frustration but could only give in to Higachi's demand as she nodded her head.

"Good, and I expect to hear good news soon." Higachi smiled as he released her.

Then he turned and left her alone in her room. She squeezed her fists tightly as she held back tears of humiliation and frustration. She then got up and left her room.

Naruto had lost track of how many guards he had taken out when he arrived inside of a large cavern. A lake was off to his right with a waterfall on the far end. Well, can't say I was expecting something like this, Naruto thought as he looked around, I wonder what they do in here. Suddenly a large eruption of water shot out of the lake revealing a giant snake's head and standing on top of it was none other than Yui.

"Yui!" Naruto shouted.

Yui remained silent as she started forming hand seals.

<Snake Mouth Poison Mist Jutsu>

The poisonous mist was spewed at Naruto who quickly body flickered away in order to dodge the attack.

"Wait! I've met Ai again, I'm trying to help you two!" Naruto yelled out.

Yui grit her teeth as she had the giant snake attack Naruto. The snake swung it's tail at Naruto causing him to body flicker away again.

"Please! I'm trying to help you! Please stop attacking me!" Naruto shouted out.

"We don't need your help! Just obediently get captured and go back inside your cell!" Yui yelled back.

Naruto frowned at Yui's words and knew that talking wasn't going to solve anything at this point. But because of the situation, and knowing the reason behind it only caused Naruto to feel even more rage build up inside him. Guess I have no choice, Naruto thought.... first gate, gate of opening.... open!

Suddenly Naruto's movements became faster, then he rushed over and hopped onto the snake's tail that it had swung at him. He began running up the snake's body and appeared behind Yui who was slow in reacting to him.

"Time for you to cool your head!" Naruto yelled as he punched her in the gut and sent her flying into the lake.

Yui's body created a huge splash as she landed. The snake began to thrash about trying to shake Naruto off. Naruto was worried that the snake's thrashing would cause further injury to Yui so he quickly formed a clone and the two created a rasengan together. Then he slammed it onto the snake's head.

"Stop thrashing around so much!!" Naruto yelled.

<Big Ball Rasengan>

Once the rasengan made contact with the snake it launched the snake's head to the ground, knocking it unconscious. Naruto then jumped into the water and swam to where Yui was, then he carried her out of the water and dragged her to the shore. He checked for her pulse and breathing and found that she was fine, then he breathed out in relief. Naruto then heard footsteps coming up behind him and when he turned around, he saw Ai's figure running in his direction.

"Oh! Hey Ai, what are you doing here?" Naruto asked.

Ai was breathing heavily as she tried to recover her breath and could only stare at Naruto in exasperation.

"I was.... trying..... to..... stop..... you!" She managed to say in between gasps of air.

"Eh? Why? Don't you want to be free of Higachi?" Naruto asked in confusion.

"Of course!! But not at the expense of you're life!" Ai yelled.

Naruto blinked at her before laughing.

"W-what? Why are you laughing?" Ai asked.

"It's nothing, it's just.. you're a really kind person Ai." Naruto said while grinning.

Ai blushed at Naruto's remark and turned her head away.

"Shut up.. stupid!" She then stuck her tongue out at Naruto.

"Ahahahahahah!" Naruto laughed even harder at Ai's actions, causing her face to redden even more.

Suddenly, Yui began to stir as she slowly got up while clutching her stomach.

"Eh? Ai?" Yui exclaimed.

"Yui?" Ai exclaimed at the same time.

The two stared at each other in surprise.

"Oh right, I was fighting your sister until a moment ago and then you arrived Ai." Naruto explained as he scratched his head.

"Eh? But why?" Ai asked.

Yui sighed, she saw how the two seemed to be on good terms and couldn't gather the will to fight against Naruto anymore, especially in front of her little sister.

"Don't worry about it Ai." Yui replied.

Ai nodded her head but still felt some confusion on how and why her sister and Naruto fought each other. Naruto only laughed as the two sisters interacted with each other. The two sisters stared at Naruto as he laughed, but eventually the two of them couldn't help but start laughing as well. There was just something about Naruto that seemed to make everyone let go of their restraints when around him.

"GYAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!!"

Suddenly, the three of them heard a laughter coming from the other side of the cavern, when they looked, they saw that it was Higachi walking toward them. He had a mocking expression on his face as he got closer that only got worse as his creepy smile stretched across his face that was covered in scars and burns. Naruto hadn't been able to get a good look at the man, but when he finally saw him clearly, he couldn't help but want to vomit. Ai looked terrified as the man approached and Yui could only grit her teeth as she slowly stood up and place Ai behind her.

"Well isn't this a touching reunion between sisters!! And look, there's my special subject that kind Yui had brought to me!" Higachi laughed maniacally.

Ai stared at Yui in shock when she heard those words.

"What is he talking about Yui?" Ai asked.

Yui looked down as she turned away from Ai.

"Oh?! Don't you know? You're dear lovely sister has been abducting subjects for me in order to keep you alive!" Higachi laughed as he glared at Ai.

"That... that's not true!!" Ai shouted, she then turned to her sister that wouldn't look at her.

"Hey, tell me.... tell me that's not true!!" Ai pleaded.

Naruto grit his teeth as his body shook in rage, he glared at Higachi.

"Oh how scary!!" Higachi mocked before laughing again.

Yui still kept her silence as she couldn't bring herself to look at her sister in the eye. Leaving Ai to accept the harsh reality.

"But why?!" Ai cried out.

"Gyahahahah, it's because if she didn't do so, we would've taken you as a subject!!" Higachi answered.

Ai looked shocked when she heard his words.

Naruto gripped his fists tightly as he rushed Higachi and appeared behind him. But before he could land a blow, a snake broke through the ground below him with it's mouth wide open and swallowed him whole.

"NARUTOOO!!" Ai screamed as she witnessed him get eaten.

"GYAHAHAHAH!! Was that all?? I thought he'd put up more of a challenge than that!!" Higachi laughed.

Yui's eyes were wide as she stared at Higachi, then she formed hand seals quickly.

<Snake Mouth Poison Mist Jutsu>

The snake that came out of the ground behind Higachi wrapped itself around him, shielding him from the poison mist. Yui had jumped up and threw several shurikens at Higachi from above, but the snake shielded him from that as well. She grit her teeth in frustration before she was sent flying toward the ground after the snake had swatter her out of the air by it's tail.

"Yui!" Ai screamed.

Yui landed on the ground and coughed up blood. She still managed to struggle and get up however.

"Oho! You're still alive, that's pretty impressive!" Higachi mocked.

"But that's how it should be! Otherwise it wouldn't be enjoyable!"

He then began walking toward Yui who was barely standing on her feet. Suddenly, Ai stood in front of Higachi with her arms spread out.

"Don't touch Yui!" She shouted.

Higachi looked surprised when he saw Ai get in his way, but then he grinned widely. Yui who was also momentarily stunned quickly snapped out of it as she tried to yell for her to get out of the way. But it was too late, Higachi places his hands together and activated the curse mark on Ai, causing her to collapse onto the ground as her chakra was forcefully drained. She screamed in agony as her chakra was siphoned off. Higachi began laughing crazily like a mad man while he listened to Ai's agonized screams.

"Please.... stop... you can have my life!" Yui cried out as she fell to her knees.

Higachi stopped laughing and stared at Yui and frowned.

"Well this isn't fun, oh well, I guess I can do that." He spoke, then he walked right in front of Yui and stared down at her. Yui smiled in relief for a brief moment but when she looked up and saw Higachi's face, her smile froze. Higachi wore a sadistic smile as he stared at her face as he watched her come to the realization that he wouldn't spare her sister. Suddenly, he frowned as he looked over at the snake, it's body had swelled up and wasn't showing any signs of stopping. Then it exploded as a bunch of smoke filled the area, when he looked closer, he saw that Naruto was breathing heavily in the middle of the remains. Higachi frowned at the sudden turn of events but then quickly made a decision as he turned back toward Yui.

Yui had a moment of hope light up within her as she saw that Naruto was still alive, but then she saw Higachi above her and her smile froze.

Naruto was looking around to figure out what was happening, then he saw Ai screaming in agony on the ground and when he looked further up, he saw Higachi standing above Yui who was struggling to stay up. Then he saw Higachi raise up a kunai and swing it down. Time seemed to stop as Naruto's body began moving on it's own. Naruto's eyes were wide as he watched the kunai fall through the air getting closer to Yui. Yui's eyes closed as though she was accepting her fate. Higachi had a cruel smile plastered across his face.

Then, the unthinkable happened, Naruto's exhaustion from using the first gate hit him and he started to collapse onto the ground. His eyes widened in horror as he watched the kunai pierce Yui's chest.

-present-

"Oi, why'd you stop! What did you see!?" Kakashi said in agitation.

Jiraiya was also restless as well, while the guard was telling them the story, they had decided to listen as they moved. So they were carrying the man as he explained what had happened, but then he had gone quiet toward the end. The man shook as he remembered what he had witnessed, he never would have expected something like that from the small blonde hair kid.

"Well... I left right after that, so I don't know what happened." The man said causing both Jiraiya and Kakashi to sigh in irritation, then they dropped the man and picked up their pace, leaving him there.

The man looked around and slowly stood up, then he turned and ran, fuck this shit, I'm out! The man thought.

-earlier-

Naruto's mind went blank, and the scene he watched just now replayed before his eyes over and over. All he could hear was the sound of Higachi's laughter filling the cavern.

Higachi was laughing hysterically when suddenly, he felt a change in the air. He turned over and saw Naruto on the ground who was slowly getting up. Red chakra started forming around him and began swirling around, the air howled as the chakra moved. Naruto's finger nails began extending into claws while his eyes began turning red and his pupils extended into slits. Naruto glared at him, but what he saw for a second was the image of Kurama roaring at him behind Naruto. Higachi unconsciously took a step back as his hair stood on end.

"What the hell is this?" He mumbled.

"What the hell are you!?" Higachi yelled at Naruto.

Naruto was silent as he continued to glare at the man standing in front of him. His rage toward this person had been building up within him ever since he entered this place, and now it was all coming out at once.

"I'm going to kill you!" Naruto said.

"Eh?" Higachi mumbled as he slowly comprehended Naruto's words.

Suddenly Naruto had vanished and appeared behind him, then he swung his fist and sent Higachi flying. Before Higachi could react however, Naruto caught up to him and punched him into the ground, creating a crater that grew larger as he continued to pummel the man. Suddenly another giant snake came out of the ground as it tried to swallow Naruto along with Higachi. Naruto jumped up and grabbed the snake's fangs and rotated his body and pulled. He then threw the snake toward the cavern wall and then he rotated again before landing on the ground. As soon as his foot touched the ground, he launched himself toward the snake and created a rasengan in his palm. Then he thrust his palm forward and hit the snake's body with the rasengan. The rasengan created a large indentation within the snake's stomach causing it to vomit. Higachi jumped out of the snake and began running away as quickly as he could.

Naruto saw him running and took off after him. Damn this brat, what the hell is he? Some kind of demon? Higachi thought. He jumped and turned around putting his hands together.

<Snake Mouth Poison Mist Jutsu>

He spewed poison at Naruto causing him to stop in his tracks. Higachi landed on the ground formed the snake hand seal then he slammed his hands down.

<Earth Release Barrier: Earth Prison Dome of Magnificent Nothingness>

He trapped Naruto within the dome and breathed out in relief. Now all I have to do is wait and everything will be fine again, he thought. Then he noticed two individuals rush into the room, and when he looked over he saw that they were Jiraiya and Kakashi. The two of them surveyed their surroundings and saw Yui on the ground with a puddle of blood forming around her. Then they saw Ai on the ground as she was silently screaming, her voice had gone after screaming for so long. Then they looked over and saw Higachi with his hands on the ground and a large rock dome in front of him.

"That must be where Naruto is." Kakashi observed.

Jiraiya nodded his head in agreement as he bit his thumb and formed hand seals.

Boar → Dog → Bird → Monkey → Ram

<Summoning Jutsu>

Jiraiya summoned a large toad which he hopped onto the back of.

"You take care of those two girls over there, I'll take care of this guy." Jiraiya said.

Kakashi nodded as he rushed over to where Yui and Ai were. The toad jumped through the air and landed where Higachi used to be as he had jumped away. However, the toad opened it's mouth and stuck out it's tongue, launching it toward Higachi and wrapping it around his ankle. Not good! Higachi thought, before he was yanked and pulled toward Jiraiya who had prepared a rasengan and slammed it into Higachi's chest.

Jiraiya started forming more hand seals as Higachi fell through the air.

Boar → Dog → Bird → Monkey → Ram

<Summoning Jutsu>

He summoned another toad and threw it at Higachi, the toad opened it's mouth and swallowed Higachi whole. Once Jiraiya arrived by the toad, he also stepped into it's mouth and disappeared into it's body. When he arrived he found Higachi within the side of the wall of the toad's insides. Jiraiya walked up to Higachi and woke him up before he started interrogating the man.

As soon as Higachi removed his hands from the ground, the rock dome fell apart and revealed Naruto who was panting hard while his blue eyes had returned. He looked around and saw that Jiraiya and Kakashi had arrived. Once he saw that the two of them had taken care of the situation, he turned toward Ai and Yui's direction and made his way there. He saw Kakashi was also there and kept walking. Soon, he arrived by Ai's side who had stopped moving around and making sound. Suspecting the worse, Naruto bent over and checked her pulse but discovered that it was still there but it was still weak.

Naruto looked up and saw Kakashi looking at him. Then he glanced down at Yui and looked back at Kakashi only to see him shake his head with his eye closed. Naruto closed his eyes in sadness and fell down onto the ground unconscious.
