Chapter 171 - Yuerui and Yefang

"Are you alright?" A boy in his mid-20s asked her with concern.

The boy had pale skin. His short black locks complemented his clean shaved face. But what caught Yuerui's attention was his pitch-black eyes.

Since Yuerui had blue colored eyes she always wondered about other types of eyes as well. Once she even wanted to be an ophthalmologist.

"I am sorry, miss. Are you okay? I rang the bell a lot of times but you didn't hear. And I also lost my balance." The boy said like a gentleman.

"Oh, it's not your fault. I was the crazy one to walk backward. I am so sorry." Yuerui also admitted her fault and chuckled foolishly.

"Are you okay? Did you get hurt?" he asked with concern.

"I am fine. Don't worry." She said.

"Okay then…"

"Yeah… okay. Goodbye."

They bid each other goodbye and parted their ways.

---------------------

After their semester final and summer vacation, everybody returned to their dormitory.

Yuerui was now determined to enrich her CV. So she decided to take some extra-departmental courses. And she chose to study English and statistics.

At first, her friends were not interested in extra courses. But after constant nagging of Yuerui, Ning Tan gave in to her. But she was not able to convince Yang Zi.

Even though at first thoughts of getting into a relationship once surfaced in her mind, but Yuerui actually never found any suitable guy for that category. And then the Bo Hai thing happened. So Yuerui completely brushed it off her mind and was determined to only concentrate on her study.

But like an unexpected storm, she found a person with whom she started to feel butterflies in her heart.

In the first lecture of their English course, everyone went to the board and introduced himself/ herself.

While she was nervous about how she will tackle the situation her eyes fell on the board where she saw a familiar face.

'It's the bicycle guy' she thought.

"Hello, my name is Han Yefang, My major in Architecture. I am in 2nd year. And I am living in the dorm- C"

Even though, he gave some unnecessary information. But through this Yuerui get to know that he lives in the adjacent dorm hers.

"Today you are don't seem as gentle as you were that day." Yuerui murmured.

"Did you say something, Yuerui?" Ning Tan asked.

"Oh... no"

---------

After class Yuerui and Ning Tan were having snacks and waiting for Yang Zi in the cafeteria when Yuerui saw Han Yefang sitting alone at one corner and silently drinking coffee.

"Hey, Tantan. Do you see that guy? He is in our class and he is in the dorm that's beside ours." Yuerui said.

"Yeah… isn't he the guy who gave a little too much information?" Ning Tan said.

"Yes. Maybe he is a loner. Let's have a talk with them."

Ning Tan didn't have any problem. So she went to Han Yefang along with Yuerui.

"Hi, we were in the English class together."

"Hmm" Yefang nodded in reply and pursed his lips slightly to make a small smile.

"My name is Ning Tan and this is Mai Yuerui."

"I am Han Yefang. Nice to meet you." Even though he was politely replying to them but it seems that his attention was on the coffee he was drinking.

"So which dorm are you in?"

"I am in dorm-C"

"Oh… that's beside our dorm." Yuerui finally said something and her tone was a little excited.

When Yuerui finally opened her mouth, Han Yefang raised his head and looked at her.

"Oh… that's cool." He said.

By the time, Yang Zi had come to the cafeteria. So they bid him goodbye and left.

---------

Due to the extra courses, the schedule of Ning Tan and Yuerui's did not match with Yang Zi's. So, they had to leave the university at different times. The extra classes made the two of them so exhausted that they didn't want to return home on foot.

Fortunately, there was a bus that goes to that route. So they decided to take that bus from then on.

To Yuerui's surprise, Han Yefang also used to take that bus. His dorm was in the same way as well. By spending time together the three of them had come to a friend-like relationship.

Han Yefang was not that of a special person to Ning Tan, but to Yuerui he started to become special little by little.

One day, the students of their English course decided to go on a tour to the Li river in Guilin, one of the most beautiful tourist spots in china. It was two days and one night tour. They booked a private cruise for the tour. They planned to visit every sight that is the caves, the villages all day and have a bbq at night on the cruise.

They were to reach the pier close to Guilin by themselves and took the cruise from there. Since Yuerui, Yefang and Ning Tan lived in the same area they decided to go together.

After visiting the cave they went to a village nearby and had their lunch there.

The villagers were so hospitable to them.

They were even offered to have their lunch with them.

The food was fresh with zero preservatives.

They were served bamboo rice, salmon, dumplings, chicken curry, fruits, and vegetables.

The fish they were served was caught from the river especially for them.

It was so delicious that Yuerui didn't feel embarrassed to lick her bowl.

Her food was finished but her heart was not content. She wanted to have another piece. But she was too embarrassed to ask for more.

"Hey, Tantan. Will you eat that fish of yours?" she whispered to Ning Tan.

"Yes." She replied while still chewing her food.

"Can I have a tiny piece from yours?" she asked with her eyes making cute gestures.

'No!" But Ning Tan bluntly refused her.

"Please… " she again tried to ask her.

"If you want more then just ask them." She said.

"It's too embarrassing." She pouted.

"Please… just a tiny bit." She again tried to persuade her.

"I am gonna change my seat. Or else I am gonna get indigestion today." Saying so Ning tan swiftly changed her seat.

After Ning Tan left, Yuerui realized in the end, she had to ask for more. But when she looked at the dish, the fish was already finished.

Heart-broken Yuerui had to sit with a sad face holding her empty bowl.

Suddenly someone gave her two pieces of fish.

She looked at the person and it was Han Yefang.

"How can I have this? It's yours." She said out of formality.

"The ladies here gave it to me. But I don't like this fish. So… you can have it." He replied without looking at her and put a mouthful of rice indifferently.

"Thank you so much, Fengfeng." Her face beamed with a smile.

It was the first time Yuerui called him Fengfeng which made him halt for a moment.

Yuerui suddenly realized what she called him.

"I can call you Fengfeng, right?" she asked.

Yefang slowly nodded in reply.

Yuerui gave out a smile in return and resumed her eating.

While she was eating, she peeped a look at him and saw the corner of his lips curve a little.

Han Yefang always maintains a stiff demeanor on his face. Even though his talks with people like a gentleman but the stiff expression never leaves his face. Doesn't mean that it lessens any slight of his handsomeness.

When Yuerui saw the slight smile on his face she was mesmerized by it. It's a pity that she didn't think of capturing the moment then. And she regretted it later.

After their visit to the village, they returned to their cruise, and at night it was time for their BBQ party.

When there is a BBQ, of course, there will hard drinks and stuff.

As Ning Tan was busy with her drinks and food Yuerui went to look for Han Yefang. At last, she found him at one corner of the cruise. He was talking with someone on the phone.

Since music was playing very loud she couldn't hear anything. She decided to wait till he finishes his call.

Yuerui waited for quite some time but he was still on the phone.

Yuerui became a little upset. But she didn't say anything and left the place quietly.

So after dinner all of them were drunk and so they went back to sleep.

Yuerui had a low tolerance for alcohol. So she let it pass.

As all of them went back to went the cruise became silent. The music was off and so she could hear the humming sound of insects around her. With cool wind breezing and the clear sky with thousands of stars made her admire the beauty around her.

Maybe the wind was a little cold for her that she subconsciously rubbed her body with her hands.

Suddenly a pair of warm hands gently wrapped her with a shawl.

Since it was too sudden and Yuerui still being in her recovering state, she startled in fright.

"Who is this?" she asked.

"I saw you shivering so I thought you might need it," Yefang replied with the stiff expression on his face.

"O.. Thank you." She replied.

"So... you are not sleepy?" he asked.

Yefang always seems to talk with a slight pause in between his words as if he is calculating every word that is coming out of his mouth. And somewhat it amazes Yuerui. It makes her think that he might be as introverted as hers. Thus, finding similarities in them.

"No… I was busy looking at the sky." She hurriedly replied as she came out of her thoughts.

"Wanna have some coffee?" he asked.

"You already made one for me so how can I reject?" Yuerui looked at the two mugs in his hands.

"It's okay if you don't want it."

"No, I fine. It's far better than alcohol." She said.

"You don't drink?" he cautiously asked.

"No. Low tolerance you know." She whispered to him.

"Do you want to drink?" he asked.

"Forget it. It's not safe." She refused.

"Next time when you want to drink just call me. I will be there for you?" his simple collection of words made her feel warmth unknowingly.

She stopped drinking her coffee and kept looking at every feature of his face which was not looking at her.

"Are you saying that I am safe around you?" Yuerui became curious and unconsciously the words came out of her mouth.

Han Yefang removed the mug from his mouth and licked his lips that were soaked in coffee. He then turned to her and gave her a charming smile. Then he said to her in a clear and soft voice, "Goodnight, Mai Yuerui."

He took her mug and left quietly.

Yuerui looked at the silhouette of Yefang vanishing slowly. After he left, Yuerui pressed her hands on her chest and felt her heart beating rapidly.
