Chapter 156: Chapter 155

Lucien's body trembled as images of his past with emperor Fei and Instructor Han flashed across his eyes. These two are the only ones that treated him like a person and not an asset. They treated him like a brother and not just one random junior and even though he couldn't be of use to them at that time, they still filled him in on their plans and always had high hopes for him! These people gave him a chance at life and encouraged him without restraint and during those moments when he wanted to venture into dangerous grounds for personal reasons, they still put their faith in him and let him go with hopes that he will succeed.

"You two are the only family I have ever had and for that reason, I will not let any of you die! I will die fighting by your side! You don't have to worry, the Rakuzen clan has your back!" Lucien said with a stern look on his face, making Instructor Han and Emperor Fei smiled softly as they both placed their hands on his shoulder.

"How can I help?" Instructor Han asked catching Lucien by surprise.

"I am a support type mage with almost zero capabilities… As you can see it took only four peak warrior realm fighters to bring me down, but I can be useful in other ways… We have high hopes for your Rakuzen clan… That way even if the emperor falls, your clan will remain standing and carry on his dreams of creating a world where everyone is equal!" Instructor Han said with a stern look on his face.

Only at this point did Lucien realize something he has failed to notice for a long time now. All this while he has been too focused on himself that he failed to realize that he has been carrying out the emperor's dreams without knowing it. He created a territory with both humans and beast-mean alike and now he is just a step away from adding the spirit cultivators into the group. If he is able to do this, he will be able to achieve something no one in the empire has ever been able to accomplish!

"This…" Lucien muttered as he took a step back and pondered for a while before speaking.

"I was going to take my time in doing these things but I guess there is no time…. I need you to join my clan, Han… Find a way to contact every member of my clan in the academy and have them return… Also, I want you to invite every potential student in the academy willing to join my faction….  Lenard's group should be prioritized… I will head out and bring the spirit beast cultivators over… Something big is about to happen and I need to be prepared for it" Lucien said coldly.

He turned and walked up to Alice, gently grabbing her shoulders.

"I will be needing your help this time… I know this will be difficult but I need you to assist Instructor Han in any way possible… Once I return, I will join you all and push the plan to the second phase" Lucien said calmly and Alice nodded with a reddened face.

"Don't you think living the empire now is not safe? There are too many people who want us dead… Leaving the empire at a time like this will give them the opportunity to strike without restraint!" Instructor Han asked with furrowed eyebrows but seeing the vicious smile on Lucien's face his body shivered and he instinctively took a step back.

"I am hoping they come… If they are so dumb to come with their full force, I may end up ending this coup before it even starts" Lucien said and a smile bloomed on Emperor Fei's face.

"That's the spirit!"

Lucien prepared everything and quickly left the empire through the northern gates, without any guard or escort. He did not make his movements known but he did not try to hide it either, if anyone wished to attack him on his way there, he will be more than willing to send them to hell.

Even though he felt a bit insecure because he was not within his territory anymore, Lucien knew he can't always rely on his city defenses. He could easily warp to his castle at the Tania village but he didn't deem this necessary for now since he was hoping someone would attack him, maybe he can get some information out of the attacker.

But this didn't mean Lucien would slow down his traveling, speed. Most of the journey was spent flying towards the direction of the Tania village until something unexpected happened.

Lucien felt the sky rumble viciously as the clouds began gathering above his head, causing him to frown.

Whoosh!

Lucien quickly decided to take a dive increasing the distance between him and the clouds and just a few seconds after he made that move, he saw a bolt of lightning speeding towards him. His glare turned murderous as he waved his hand releasing his own bolt of black lightning but Lucien never had any intentions of facing the enemy head-on, so his body twisted in an unnatural way as he slithered out of the way before releasing his power, allowing the bolt of lightning hit an unoccupied spot.

Lucien didn't dare look back as he kept moving at top speed, only to feel the countless vibrations rocking the spots he just left!

"DO YOU THINK I WILL BE EASILY KILLED?" Lucien growled as his body coiled like a spring and the next moment he shot into the air, racing towards the figure hiding within the dense forest.

"Cocky BRAT!" a familiar elderly voice reached his ears as the loud familiar bird cry reached Lucien's ears and his eyes turned bloodshot!

The figure turned into a silver beam and short towards him, enraging Lucien even more!

"GOOD! VERY GOOD! YOU JUST CAME HERE TO DIE, LUKAS!" Lucien growled as his body turned into a golden beam of light and raced towards the silver light!s
