Chapter 141: Genius vs monster

Lucien watched from a distance as he kept circling the enemy. He hated the fact he knew nothing about his spirit martial technique, leaving him with no choice but to face the enemy without the aid of his dual cultivation martial technique.

Suddenly the blazing blue azure dragon charged forward releasing a mouthful of blue flames but just like before it was effortlessly blocked by the invisible wall but this didn't stop the faceless's assault, as it continued pouring out blue flames

"Break!" Zhao Li growled as he swung his hands forward, releasing two invisible blades of force energy, tearing through the sea of flames and successfully splitting the faceless in two, causing it to decimate but even that wasn't enough to make him jubilate!

"Where?" He screamed hastily the moment he noticed that Lucien had vanished! His heart skipped a bit as his eyes darted around the room madly! He originally assumed Lucien was still trying to break through his impenetrable shield with his dragon flame, unknown to him, the blue dragon flame was just a cover for him to block Zhao Li's vision and give Lucien a chance to sneak away and launch a sneak attack.

Blood squirted out as Zhao Li narrowly manage to redirect Lucien's attack, ultimately saving his life! Originally, he felt restless that Lucien could see his force shields which should be invisible for any normal cultivator yet, this is why he was terrified of Lucien. Now, with this attack, he was sure Lucien has found out another secret related to his martial technique again!

An average fighter or mage would try to attack him with magic from his blind spot and every time this happens, the attacks are negated by the invisible force shield placed to protect his back from friends and foes at all times but now Lucien didn't use any power, instead, he used his fist!

Like an animal, he threw an open palm forward, purely based on instincts, and watched his hand pierce sink into the invisible force field like it never existed and reach the enemy's neck! Zhao Li's reaction speed could be considered superb and that's why he was able to deflect the attack, allowing Lucien to only graze his neck slightly but this is enough to put a sinister smile on the face of the silver-haired youth!

"It went through! You are not as invincible as you look!" Lucien sneered as he quickly withdrew his hand and tried to retreat but Zhao Li had no plans of letting him go!

His back struck a purple force shield that appeared behind him the moment he tried to retreat, catching him by surprise, and at that moment a purple force blade shot towards him!

"Habakiri!" Lucien growled as a lightning whip appeared in his hand and he promptly deflected the force blade shooting towards him!

Puff!

He promptly turned into a gray mist as he retreated farther and soon regained his original form!

"I see" Lucien said calmly as he gazed at Zhao Li with a look of understanding in his eyes.

Seeing this, Zhao Li's face turned terribly pale. He felt like all his secrets has been exposed and there was nothing else to hide from Lucien while he is yet to understand a thing about Lucien's martial technique!

"Why did you block instead of fleeing?" Zhao Li asked after swallowing a ball of saliva. He asked in hopes of getting an answer from Lucien, that way he can know whether the youth has truly grasped the real nature of his abilities.

"Instincts" Lucien answered calmly.

"I simply felt like I can block this attack and I did it" Lucien added after a while.

Hearing this, Zhao Li's face twisted in rage at first since he assumed Lucien was toying with him but when he was about to lash out a thought reached his mind causing him to calm down and rethink the whole situation.

Before today Lucien is arguably the most popular character in the continent since the day he got the grade one sealed artifact. The three great empires have been watching his every move and with each success, his fame kept rising until it surpassed the level of 'Genius' and he was now given a new title 'Monster'. Many claimed he was given this title because he was more of a beast than a man now, meanwhile many said he got this title because his talent far surpasses that of a genius. As a young man who has always been regarded as one of the top talents of his empire, Zhao Li has always dreamed of the day he will prove to the world that Lucien I just overrated and today should be that day but things are not going the way he expected.

Upon meeting Lucien, he realized something important. The two speculations about the reason why Lucien was given the title monster are both correct. In the warrior realm, he is already able to create his martial technique and this is something even spirit realm masters find it hard to do but he did it, proving to the world that the so called genius is inferior to him. Finally, the rumor about him becoming more beast than man can be considered true as well. Throughout their short exchange, fighting Lucien was like fighting different magic beasts at once. His actions and reactions have always been done based on pure instincts! To be able to use his hand as a weapon and leave a clean cut on his skin showed he possessed strength that even fighters and warriors lack!

He is a monster!

"It is only a matter of time when the barrier falls… do you think you can win?" Zhao Li asked as he gazed at the web-like cracks on the barrier behind him!

"Do you think you can kill me before my comrades make it through?" Zhao Li asked again but then a sinister smile bloomed on Lucien's face making his heart skip a beat. Right now it can be said that this young master is genuinely afraid of Lucien for reasons the even he cannot explain!

"You have two forms of barrier… The invisible and impenetrable barrier that stops all forms of abilities and spells but is weak to physical attacks without magic or any forms of enhancements…. And the second is the normal barrier that any force Mage can cast but due to the conditions given to you by your martial technique it can only block physical attacks but it is weak to magic attacks… I must say your ability is unique even amongst spirit realm masters but even then, it still has some weak points and loopholes…" Lucien said casually as he gazed at the fear growing in Zhao Li's face. His experiments truly paid off and with this he now understands the enemy almost perfectly, giving him the advantage he needs in battle.

"Now to answer your question… Yes, I believe I can kill you... Even if the other two are here… and for the sake of decency, I think it's best I give you a heads up! Behind you!" Lucien said as the hell hound beast assimilation pounced on him from behind but thanks to his advice, Zhao Li was able to get away on time.

Gazing around, Zhao Li realized that the fifty or less mortal and warrior realm experts that were stuck in this place with him were already dead! While he was too busy with Lucien and too focused on his fight to pay attention to his subordinates, Lucien's city magic towers kept killing off these experts in large numbers! On normal conditions, Lucien alone even with his undying beast assimilations who regenerate even when damaged will not be able to beat this many enemies but thanks to the powerful magic towers that can only be challenged by spirit realm masters, all fifty enemy forces were wiped out in just a few minutes.

Right now, Zhao Li was surrounded by all six beast assimilations and above them was the azure blue dragon with Lucien levitating not too far behind! He still had eight or so magic towers pinned on him and only at this moment did he know the true terror of death. The spies from afar watching the battle take place were stunned and impressed by how Lucien was able to suppress a small army and a few spirit realm experts without outside help. Everyone was sure if any other noble family head was put in Lucien's position, they would most likely fail.

While many were excited they also felt disappointed. They came here to see Lucien's true capabilities but he has managed to subdue the enemy without showing much. With limited resources, he had managed to subdue the enemy and now he had an important person from the Libet empire begging for mercy.

"Do you know I can kill you in three moves?" Lucien's question made many gasps in shock as they switched their attention to Zhao Li to see his reaction.

Just as expected, Zhao Li's face was scorching red with anger and embarrassment. Never in his life did he think a mere warrior realm kid would speak to him, a spirit realm expert in that manner!
