Chapter 108: Roc

[Are you confident?] Rakuzen asked casually but Lucien didn't reply.

For an entire year plus now he has been receiving notifications from the system but he didn't bother to check any of them, only leaving them to pile up. While checking he realized many of them were notifications from the system, informing him that the Tania village of spirit beast cultivators are under attack and also notifications of their victory.

Amongst the notifications are congratulatory messages on his breakthrough to the warrior realm as a spirituality cultivator, the souls he consumed were enough to allow him breakthrough further into the late stages of the warrior realm but a shaky foundation is something all cultivators fear the most, and Lucien is no exception so he chose to direct the excess nourishment to his spirit beast, strengthening it further.

"Status" Lucien decided to push all the notifications aside and just check his current status.

"Ooh?" Lucien muttered in surprise.

Not only has his strength as a spirituality cultivator increased but his magical stats have risen as well. His experience points are so high, he barely knew what to do with it. Since he wasn't in a rush to make such decisions, Lucien pushed the matter aside and focus on the figures moving below.

[A roc…] Rakuzen's voice trailed off.

Rocs are earth-type magic beasts almost similar to a rhino. At the soldier realm, they possess only the earth element but at the General and King level, they gain a rare element, Metal! Their defense is said to be outstanding and with its brute force, it breaks through all barriers standing in its way! An absolute nightmare for people who lack extremely powerful moves. 

Lucien would have loved to fly past them but along the way, he noticed the Rocs gathering at one spot. On the tree branch were two kids, females. While one had fluffy rabbit ears, the other was a human. Knowing there are no settlements around this place except that Bradford town, Lucien concluded that these two wandered too far from the village!

[Lucien] Rakuzen muttered.

"I know" Lucien answered coldly as he watched the Rocs slam into the tree, trying to break it.

The clouds turned dark as Lucien felt the mana surging through his body. His eyes released a blue light as he slowly made strange movements, controlling the lighting surging around. 

The sudden change in weather caught the attention of the magic beasts and when they looked up, they saw a silver-haired masked man surrounded by lightning and a threefold magic array forming above the clouds.

"Tier 3 magic: Lightning descent!" Lucien muttered as several bolts of lightning struck down viciously, obliterating all soldier-level beasts around the tree but not even a single bolt of lightning touched a branch or a leaf on the tree!

The duo watched the masked man's body vanished and the next moment he was levitating right in front of them. He spread out his hands without saying a word and even though they didn't know this man is, their body instinctively jumped into his arms. There they felt safe 

DING!

[Beast assimilation successful]

Lucien didn't even bother to look at the notification and turned his attention towards the remaining rocs here. There were at least ten of them left after he killed close to four almost effortlessly. Gazing at the cold eyes of the masked man, these kids couldn't help but feel safe. Even when faced with this number of magic beasts, he wasn't flustered.

"I am a friend… Your parents sent me to save you… Don't worry… This big bro will make sure no one in the village gets hurt ever again!" Lucien's voice was soft when the girls heard it but for the magic beasts around, they felt his killing intentions surging forward.

"Go… Kill them all!" Lucien's eyes let out a bright silver light as his spirit beast manifested in front of him!

The shapeless silver light quickly began to twist and turn, before taking the shape of the nightmare demon!

[The faceless is nothing but everything… It assumes the form of what it deems most suitable… That is why it is considered a unique spirit beast… That's why your emotions need to be controlled properly when summoning it… A year ago I would have advised against it but now, you are at your best!]

Shriek!

The faceless roared as it shot forward, releasing a massive veil of darkness that quickly engulfed the enemies!

"Good!" Lucien gazed at the death storm surrounding the spirit beast and Rocs but he didn't seem bothered. This can only be considered as a warm-up for his magic beast.

[You don't plan to pay attention to the fight?] Rakuzen asked.

"No need for that... It's time I fulfill my own part of the contract" Lucien muttered coldly as he stretched his hands towards the empty space ahead and his eyes let out a yellow glow.

"Old piece of shit… come out!" Lucien sneered as a contractor formation appeared a few meters away from him and from it, the Rupture magic beast emerged.

The facial expression in its eyes was filled with shock at first but then it changed to rage!

A year ago, it signed a soul bind contract with Lucien and according to the agreement, Lucien should have summoned it the moment he exited the dungeon but since Rakuzen was the one in control of the body, the soul contract couldn't force Lucien to summon it. 

Taking advantage of that loophole in the contract, Lucien didn't bother summoning it until now. He gazed at the king-level magic beast appear but even then he feel fear like before. If Rupture is eager to exchange blows with him, Lucien had no issues! He would take on this old magic beast and put it down just like the rest.

"YOU…." Rupture bellowed as its surrounding became scorching hot!

The girls in Lucien's hands were terrified and they buried their faces in his robe.
