Chapter 77: Another method of cultivation?

"Ghost town?" Lucien asked with a raised eyebrow.

Instructor Emma hoped to get the attention of everyone with this story and it seemed to work since they all gathered around and gazed at her with expectant eyes.

"Yes! A town haunted by ghosts!" instructor Emma said in a spooky way.

Hearing this, Lucien and the others moved back and gazed at Instructor Emma with doubtful eyes. They were never the type to believe in the supernatural or spiritual part of life. Like people who only relied on their strength, magic, and resources to get things done, they never made time to study the spiritual aspect of life and that's why they were skeptical about the story.

"Are you messing with us now?" Lucy asked with a frown on her face.

"I am not joking around… I have to admit that this is the first time for me to go north of the empire but you have to believe me when I say I am not making this up. Everyone I have met who has traveled through this area said the same thing! The ghost town exists…" Instructor Emma said.

"Seriously? What makes them call it the ghost town?" Lucien was intrigued by this and decided to enquire further.

In his opinion, no form of power should be undermined or looked down on. As long as he has enough time, he is willing to learn more.

"I am not sure if you guys know about this but our method of cultivation is not the only way available.." Instructor Emma said with a stern look on her face.

"What do you mean?" Titan asked with a frown on his face.

Studying his expression it seemed that the youth is already pissed off by the revelation without even getting to know the details. While many would find this strange, Lucien found this reasonable since it meant that they weren't given much of a choice before forcing them to choose a path.

"I mean there is what we describe as the spirituality pathways… Unlike us who focus on strengthening our body and magic… These people focus on strengthening their spirit and soul power. Their attacks are rarely physical, most times they direct their attacks towards the enemy's soul or directly attack one's consciousness" Instructor Emma said.

Listening to this, Lucien and the others were a bit restless since they found it hard to digest this information. Who would have thought something this powerful exist?

"Since they don't cultivate the body and magic, doesn't that mean their mana is weak as well as their body… Shouldn't that make them weaker than us?" Lucien asked thoughtfully. No matter how amazing it is to have attacks that directly affect the soul, Lucien wasn't impressed by an ability that doesn't directly protect the body.

"I guess that's why it's not been used in the three great empires… They just deemed it too weak for anyone to cultivate" Titan said coldly while leaning back, showing his lack of interest in the subject now.

'A few seconds ago he was pissed off because he didn't know but now he knows, he just lost interest like that… isn't it dumb to write someone or something off based on little information gotten from an unreliable source? This guy is dumb and he will most likely die early' Lucien muttered in his mind

"Yes, but their abilities are more complicated than that… while there are many paths within the spirituality pathway… ranging from the seer pathway…to the demon kin pathway… shaman pathway and all that… it's even more diversified than that of our own" Emma answered.

'Seer pathway?' Lucien's body trembled as he heard that name.

If the seer pathway is one of the spirituality pathways doesn't that mean the system has access to such a secret and demonic pathway?

If he upgrades the system will he be given access to other spirituality pathways?

Didn't the system call their cultivation pathway common back then in the beginner area?

Does that mean the spirituality pathways are more powerful?

Is it even allowed to practice this pathway in the empire?

Lucien had so many times raging through his mind, leaving him stunned for too long.

"If it's so great, why don't we practice it?" Alucard seemed rather annoyed by the way Instructor Emma was trying to make the spirituality pathway look grander than it should. In his opinion, if it's that amazing, every empire would try to nurture people who have a talent for these powers

In his opinion, since it has never been mention publicly by anyone in the empire, it's only because it's not worth their attention.

"You all truly do not know?" Instructor Emma asked with a raised eyebrow. Drawing their attention…

"Know what?"

Lucien and the others asked at the same time, revealing their confused expressions or their faces.

"I guess noble families also keep this a secret from their heirs and members of their families while those from normal or poor backgrounds are just too poor to know this much" Instructor Emma said with a frown on her face.

Hearing her say things like this, made these people more interested and eager to know.

"Come on… say it!" Titan was rather impatient but because of Instructor Emma's identity as an instructor, he had no other choice but to lower his voice as he made the request.

"The three great empires once joined hands to battle these people from the spirituality pathway right after the empire has been shared and they realized that these people consume most of the land in the central region of the empire, yet they were soundly defeated and the various emperors injured," Instructor Emma said.

She stopped in a bid to let the kids absorb the shocking revelation since she knew their heads would be flooded with so many ideas, theories and thoughts. Not only was one empire defeated but three empires were defeated and the three emperors were badly injured! Who would have thought the human emperor would ever decide to stand with his beast emperor counterpart.
