Chapter 5: Fotià Academy

CAAAAAAWWWWWWWW!

The high-pitched cry of the Raizen echoed all over the hall as the silver light slowly took the shape of the Raizen. It was a man with an eagle head with talons for hands and legs. This man was topless and on his back were four mighty wings.

The man slowly gazed at the hall and all those within, its self-awareness was stunning even for the clan head. It shot the clan head a glance before turning its attention to the two youths beside Lucien, only then did it return its attention to the one channeling its power.

CAAAAAAWWWWW!

With a loud cry, the silver image surged into Lucien's body, and right there and then his fist turned to talons and his eyes changed as well and moved to the sides the grant him a greater range of vision just like that of the Raizen.

It's general knowledge that the more powerful the caster is, the more features they can take from the God beast during a shift. While many are stuck at one, a good number of them can take two features while the elites can take up to three features. Rumors have it that at a certain level, a beast-man can completely transform and take the form of their God beast. Although this has never been seen lately by the younger generation, the older generation insists on it.

Seeing that Lucien could take two features right off the bat from the God beast brought upon him a lot of reactions. There was love, there was joy, there was admiration but there was also hate and jealousy. In their opinion, Lucien's talent is too astonishing! This is not something only one man should acquire. If given the chance and proper cultivation resources, he will definitely surpass the current patriarch of the Raizen clan.

"Hahaha hahaha… good, very good… as expected of my grandson… you truly are the future of this clan" Lukas Raizen clapped his hands in excitement as he spoke.

With Lucien's capabilities, he should be able to reach the top in the Fotià academy if he puts in a lot of effort. While he wished he could keep Lucien back and tutor him personally, Fotia academy is a must-go for every young cultivator in the kingdom. A clan is not allowed to let have their members undergo refinement outside the Academy, meaning if one cannot afford to go to the Academy, they will only remain a normal person with no abilities. This was a method used by the emperor to keep tabs on the forces of the noble families in his kingdom. That way the royal family can pick out the most talented ones amongst them and have them serve the empire while simultaneously balancing the strength of their nobles.

The Five years' worth of education is enough time for everyone's true potential to manifest and only then will the emperor pick out those who will serve the empire in different ways and give them irresistible offers. The fear of losing Lucien and the other prodigies of the clan to the empire terrified Lukas Raizen a lot. This wasn't the first time a powerful member of their clan has abandoned the clan for personal benefits. Extremely powerful Raizen clan members who are worthy to take the place of the clan head exist but they all serve the empire in so many ways like joining the army.

"As important as it is to serve the empire, it's even more important to put the clan needs first… this is a struggle for survival and if our peak experts keep leaving, a time will come when our strength will depreciate to a level where we won't be able to stand on the same footing as the Drax clan and the Luno clan." The clan head spoke slowly as if those words weren't meant for the three of them. The

A new session was beginning tomorrow for the Fotia academy and the three prodigies of the clan will be leaving, only to return five years later or stay back and at the capital and serve the empire. Lukas has never been a man of many words and his pride prevented him from doing things like begging on his knees. He hadn't worried about the other two since they have been controlled and well-coordinated from the very beginning. They follow orders to the last letter and they never act without approval. The real problem here was Lucien who was known to have great admiration for the royal family of the Phoenix clan. No matter what anyone said, Lucien has always wanted to serve directly under the man whom he regarded as his role model, Emperor Fei. Apart from that he is wild and rarely follows orders. He makes decisions on his own and ignores advice given to him. In terms of cultivation, this has helped him since he acts based on instincts but in other aspects, it's a disaster. Unfortunately, he is the most talented amongst the three and probably the one who will be wooed over by the empire!

"In five years I expect to see all three of you here, ready to serve your clan with the best of your abilities! Is that clear?!" Lukas growled.

"Yes! Clan master!"

Only two voices could be heard replying. Apparently, Lucien remained silent.
