Chapter 230: Rakzuen!

"What do you suggest we do?" Lucien said with a cold look on his face as he leaned forward. As emperor, he couldn't let Derik talk down on his people and all those around him. He hated the fact that Derik didn't give him face and cursed his council without restraint.

"You don't even know the true nature of all three inheritances you gathered... You are just relying on its power boost to fight me... You must be tired of living!" Derik sneered and Lucien turned pale.

He knew what Derik was saying was true. He is just depending on the sheer power he has and has failed to understand the true nature of those three inheritances.

"And I guess you won't teach me since it means I will surpass you" Lucien said coldly as he leaned back on his throne and his eyes showed disinterest.

In his opinion, if Derik can barely win against him right now, if he can master his abilities, Derik definitely won't be able to push him around and that's why he strongly felt Derik won't teach him how to use these abilities.

"Once again, you are dumb..." Derik said with an indifferent look on his face making people frown.

"How many inheritances did you see me use in our battle?" Derik asked with a raised eyebrow, making Lucien frown.

"One... Just devour" Lucien answered

"How many inheritances do you think I have?" Derik asked while leaning forward this time.

Hearing it, Lucien's eyes widened in shock and his body shuddered! Only then did Derik nod in agreement and stand up.

"Since I came to this world I have been holding back... There is a reason why I was called the god of death and destruction and that has to do with my original inheritance!" Derik stomped his feet on the ground and everything began rotting!

The rotting process was so fast and astonishing, even Lucien got off his throne and retreated. Seeing this ability he realized why Derik always claims to be the absolute! While he can sustain himself from ranged attacks with devour when meeting a foe in close combat he can always use the death inheritance to instantly kill an enemy. He and Derik made a lot of physical contact in their last fight so it meant that Derik had all the chances of killing him but he didn't.

"Even if I train you and show you how to use the inheritance, you will still lose against me" Derik said as he withdrew his rotting power, and only then did people calm down.

He quickly turned around and slowly walked out of the doors of the massive hall.

"Prepare yourself tonight... It will not be easy!" Derik said before walking out of the grand hall.

The meeting ended soon after with Lucien revealing their plans of building their forces with high-level magic beasts and acquiring sealed artifacts before moving over to the Drakon empire to force them into an alliance. At first many were against the plan of Lucien traveling alone with someone like Derik but after they realized Lucien would not be persuaded, they could only sigh and assure him of the safety of the empire while he is away.

He also requested they make sure his departure remains a secret since he didn't want to attract the wrong attention. Since it was only a few months, they didn't see this as a difficult task!

That night Lucien sat in a cross-legged position and meditated. After speaking with Derik earlier today, Lucien realized he could no longer hear from Rakzuen or see notifications from his system ever since he acquired this power. He realized that he was so distracted that he failed to notice Rakuzen's fading presence.

When meditating, Lucien found himself once again in the darkness of his mind but the blue azure dragon was gone.

No, it wasn't gone, it was just too far away for him to notice!

Whoosh!

With a single step forward, Lucien crossed thousands of miles appearing in front of the azure blue Chinese serpent dragon, struggling while getting bound by three chains from three different power sources!

"LUCIEN!" Rakzuen quickly noticed Lucien's presence and called out to him!

At this point, Lucien realized something he failed to pay attention to. When he entered the doors of the inheritance, his bond with Rakuzen vanished at that time and he could no longer feel it. He only spoke to it as soon as he left the god vein's core but soon after Rakuzen's presence was gone.

It turned out that the Inheritance and god vein was trying to protect Lucien from the external being living within him! This was its attempt of preventing Rakuzen from taking over his mind and claiming the power for himself! Faced with this, Lucien realized this god vein had a countermeasure for almost everything and that's why Derik lost to them when he initially invaded this world.

"Stop!" Lucien cried out but the dragon and two birds ignored him and focused on restraining the bright blue dragon.

Alice watched Lucien meditate and seeing sweat trickle down his forehead she immediately knew he was engaged in some sort of inner battle. She wished she could help but with her cultivation level she couldn't match up to him, making her feel even more depressed.

"You are a fool..." Derek's voice echoed from one of the darkest corners of the room and his figure slowly emerged from the shadow.

His eyes carried that of disgust when he gazed at Alice and till today she didn't know why Derik hated her so much.

"If I saw you when I came for Emperor Fei's head, I would have taken your life and done this lad a favor... You only sit there making wishes, hoping and wanting this but never works for them... You wish to help him in battle but you are slacking off on your cultivation... You wanna help him in every way possible but you do not make attempts... How do you plan to help him when you show no signs of improving yourself? Maybe I should kill you now and give him the chance to find a more competent lady" Derik said as his eyes revealed a bright red flash.

Seeing this Alice retreated and Derik sighed. If he killed the woman right now, Lucien will most likely fight him with his all and end up dying by his hands allowing him to absorb his power and the three inheritances! This may be convenient but it's not what he wants. This time, he wants a partner who will walk the entire journey with him and that's why he is too reluctant to kill off Lucien, no matter how dumb the kid proves to be.

"You don't even have control over your own power? Pitiful" Derik ignored Alice and placed his hand on Lucien's head. He slowly shut his eyes tight and when he opened it, he saw Lucien struggling to break Rakzuen free from the binding ability of the three inheritances.

When Derik appeared two beings stood behind him. One was the devour in its ghastly form with blood-red eyes and the second was the leech emperor. It was a massive skeleton in a green majestic robe, green crown, and five green rings in its hands. It wielded a death scythe in one hand and a blazing green skull in the other.

Derik's appearance drew the attention of everyone in the dark world and for the first time in his life, Lucien was happy to see Derik.

"Getting consumed by your power... You are really hopeless!" Derik said as he stretched his hands forward and a powerful suction wind emerged from devour, fiercely pulling the chains binding Rakuzen towards it!

Cawwwww!

Seeing their binding technique was about to break due to the interference of this intruder the two birds cried out viciously and charged towards Derik and his inheritances.

"You dare charge at me? You must be tired of living!" Derik's voice deepened as he grew in size and strength, slowly taking his Lycan form before charging forward with the Leech emperor beside him!

Whoosh!

Derik chose to deal with the Phoenix inheritance since it had a high chance of destroying his leech inheritance if care is not taken.

Charging towards it, it released numerous smaller bird-shaped attacks, charging at Derik but even then it couldn't reach him!

With the werewolf side active, Derik's movement was so nimble, he was able to evade the flaming Bird's but they kept chasing after him without giving him a chance to retaliate!

"Focus on subduing these beasts while we keep them distracted! Remember! They are your power! You own them!" Derik said calmly as he darted around but the flaming birds kept chasing after him!

In this situation, one hit meant death and since this was his consciousness in here, he may not be able to survive this time.

Meanwhile, the Dragon inheritance focused all it's strength in reinforcing the chains, while devour kept trying to consume it. That way everyone was pinned down except for Lucien!
