Chapter 437 - Splitting Up

Name:My Way To You Author:Scarlettbunny
"Let's go to the roof." Ariana said. "Why the roof?! I think we should stick to the streets." Cayden said as he furrowed his brows. "Flying away is better." Ariana said bitterly. "Flying? I don't know how much time we have. Either the guards are on their way here or worse the Rebellion. Most likely my neighbours called the guard when they heard the screams. If we try running upstairs we can get cornered and be forced to run downstairs. We would be loosing time and energy. I rather play it safe and just stick to the shadows of the streets then be exposed in the air." Cayden explained. Ariana growled, baring her fangs as she did, she really didn't like his reasoning but she had to agree. Cayden's eyes grew wide in surprise causing Ariana to stop.

"Sorry..." Ariana mumbled. Cayden gently caught her face and kissed her sweetly on the lips. "You are too cute! I was momentarily mesmerized there for a second." He said with a sly grin. Ariana flushed. "We can go through the shadows first and take the streets from there." Loralei said interrupting their sweet moment. "That's a good idea but first we will need to get you a cloak and me a disguise." Cayden said as he stepped around Ariana and went towards his closet.

'Someone's coming!' Duko shouted as he growled towards the dark hall. "Sh*t! I thought we had more time!" Cayden shouted. "Do we need anything else?" Ariana asked. "Money." Cayden said as he grabbed a beg and shoved things inside. 'They're here!' Duko shouted as the front door started to get beat down. "No time!" Loralei yelled as she changed.

Ariana grabbed Cayden and wrapped her wings around them. "Now!" She shouted as the door was ripped off the hinges. Footsteps stomped into the living room and the Loralei opened the portal. Ariana, Cayden and the Lumas were swallowed up whole just as a man reached the bedroom door. "What the?! ... T-they've escaped!" He yelled back.

"Where are we going first?" Loralei asked. Ariana opened her wings and looked at Cayden. He was frozen solid again. "Anywhere that is deserted. We can't stay here too long or Cayden might get hurt." Ariana said gently. "I got it. I think I see a place just further ahead." Loralei replied and they all moved behind her.

Ariana opened her eyes and they were standing in the stables. She looked around and saw that the horses just stared at her. "Where are we?" Ariana asked. "Behind the hotel... I recognize those gaudy doors over there." Cayden groaned as he pointed towards a light. Ariana looked to where Cayden pointed and spotted bright red, double doors with fancy gold vines that sparkled under the small light. "Ariana, I need to go back." Loralei said, calling Ariana's attention back. Loralei looked positively ashamed with herself. "What why?" Ariana asked as she turned to Loralei.

"I left our stuff behind." Loralei admitted. "Oh no!" Ariana gasped. "You're stuff? Do you mean your bag?" Cayden asked. Ariana nodded her head. "Can you get out on your own?" Ariana asked. Loralei nodded her head. "Without getting caught?" Ariana asked seriously. Loralei flinched. "Forget it." Ariana sighed.

"You need the book and the stone!" Loralei shouted. The horses started to huff in distress. Cayden moved to calm down the horses along with the other Lumas. "Loralei, we can figure that out later." Ariana sighed as she glanced at the horses, they had finally calmed down. "No!" Loralei shouted then opened a portal. "Loralei!" Ariana shouted. "I'll be careful." Loralei said as ahe disappeared. "Sh*t!" Arinan hissed.

"Do you need your bag badly?" Cayden asked. Ariana averted her gaze, not willing to answer Cayden. "I'll go. I know the streets like the back of my hand. I can make it there and give her support is she needs it." Cayden said as he started to lead a horse out. "I," Ariana started but Cayden shook his head. "She might get captured. There is no way they won't notice her coming in. I'll bring your bag and Loralei back." Cayden said. "Be safe." Ariana grumbled.

"Loralei and Adonis can find you. So go where you need to go. We will go to you." Cayden said as he started to rummage through his bag. He then pulled out a black cloak. "Promise you will all come back safely." Ariana said as she looked at the cloak in his hands. Cayden stayed silent and then he grabbed Ariana's clawed hand and placed the cloak into it.

"Cayden promise me." Ariana pleaded as she gripped the fabric. Cayden pulled her in and placed a kiss on her forehead. "I promise." He whispered but the words seemed to unsettle her heart more. "I'm scared." Ariana admitted. Cayden let go of Ariana and gave her a bittersweet smile causing Ariana to drop her gaze, she couldn't hep but feel worse.

"I promise to be safe." He said with a small chuckle and took the cloak from Ariana's hand and moved to dr.a.p.e it over her shoulders. Ariana looked up and could only show him a small smile. Cayden fastened the cloak and then moved a lock of her hair behind her ear. "I swear, we will come back to you. Don't stay here too long. Go, hide then when it's safe run. We will come find you." Cayden said gently.

Ariana nodded he head and Cayden let out a sigh of relief. He then turned and jumped onto the horse bare back. "I love you." He said before he kicked the horse and galloped away. Ariana watched him until he turned a corner and disappeared. "You guys should turn back into my earings before anyone notices your light." Ariana instructed with a melancholy voice. Find authorized novels in , faster updates, better experience, Please click #%!d(string=12021185405774505)/splitting-up_%!d(string=48539573785000902) for visiting.

"Who's there!" Someone shouted from a window just as the Lumas changed. Ariana pulled up her hood and quicly stepped into the shadows of the stable. In the next moment the back doors of the hotel opened with a loud crash, scaring the horses. They neighed loudly as Ariana spotted a big belied man rushed out with a lamp in hand. "I said who's there?!" He shouted again as he raised the lamp higer into the air.

Ariana narrowed her gaze. She wasn't planning to get caught any time soon. Ariana raised her hand and started to soothe some of the horses. The bellied man looked around and didn't spot anyone. "I know you're out there!" The man shouted as he started walking forward. Ariana took silent steps backwards and kept her eyes glued to the man.

"Do you think you can hide from me! There is only one real spot you can hide!" The man shouted. Ariana crouched down and readied her claws.
