Chapter 427 - Parcel Drop Off

Name:My Way To You Author:Scarlettbunny
Ariana hid Vanessa in the foliage close to the female dormitory. She felt bad that she was leaving Vanessa in the forest but she needed to divert some of the attention off of herself. If Ms. Hadley was looking for her and then couldn't find Vanessa, she would have to split up the search parties. "If you see any more students, knock them out immediately. I want them tied up and hidden." Ariana instructed as she gently covered Vanessa with one of her spare blankets.

'Wouldn't that create panic?' Davita asked. 'Exactly.' Duko replied. "We need to stay hidden on grounds and get everything sorted out. I want the teachers to panic and forget about me. If we can't I will have regrets about this place and not want to leave." Ariana said. 'We are on it.' Vasu replied.

"But what about you?" Loralei asked as the Lumas readied themselves. "I'm going to leave a package at the Dabneys, I won't stay and talk to them... I can't stay and talk... Then I will track down the Earth fairies and try to bide my time there until nightfall." Ariana told them. 'Alright but be careful.' Aroha said as the other Lumas nodded their heads in agreement. "You too." Ariana replied.

The Lumas quickly dispersed, each going in a separate direction while Ariana stealthily headed towards the Dabneys. The only thing she wasn't expecting to run into more students. She wondered why everyone was outside and walking around when class should have been in session or at least some sort of assembly to tell them what was going on outside. Instead everyone looked happy and were chatting with one another without a care in the world.

Ariana knocked out every student she ran into, wondering if her Lumas found just as many students along their paths. "You got to be kidding me!" Ariana grumbled to herself when a group of girls were heading towards her.

It took Ariana three times as long to get to the Dabneys and she was completely out of breath. It was hard hiding so many students and she made sure to hide them in various locations. She didn't want to leave a trail that lead up to the Dabneys. She finally reached the porch and she walked up to it slowly. She slightly turned to reach for her bag and pulled out a rather thick package from it. She bent over and tried to put the package down and suddenly the door opened.

Ariana looked up and broke out into a cold sweat. "Hi." She said awkwardly as the package hovered over it's resting spot. "Get in here!" Mrs. Dabney hissed, Ariana was pulled in with the package in hand. "Where have you been?!" Mrs. Dabney shouted as she slammed the door closed. "Roselyn, I can't stay." Ariana said calmly but she was screaming internally, she was trying to avoid this very confrontation.

"Of course you can and you will need to tell me exactly what is going on!" Mrs. Dabney spat. "I just came to drop this off to you with a letter." Ariana said as she presented the package. "Thank you." Mrs Dabney said bitterly as she accepted the package. "Now tell me what is going on out there?" Mrs. Dabney said in a low and threatening tone. Ariana looked at Mrs. Dabney with cold and unmoving eyes. "The churhc is making their move and they don't care who knows."

Mrs. Dabeny paled, the grip on the package loosened and it slipped from her grasp. Ariana caught sight of the parcel dropping and rushed to catch it. Once it was in her hands she quickly inspected it and let out a small sigh of relief. It wasn't damaged. "Is that why they are calling me back?' Mrs. Dabney whispered as tears started to roll down her cheeks.

"Who's calling you back?" Ariana asked as she presented the package again to Mrs. Dabney. "The Rebellion... They want me back." She replied. Ariana's eyes rounded with fear and she turned around, scanning the room. "Brie?! Where's Brie?!" She shouted in a panic. "Gone... Pascal and her are gone." Mrs. Dabney answered.

"Where?!" Ariana shouted. "They are safe. For now." Mrs. Dabney replied. Ariana settled down and looked at Mrs. Dabney. "So the Rebellion is calling you back. Is it that bad?" Ariana asked. "Worse. If they are calling me back after so much time it means they need me for war preparations." Mrs. Dabney replied.

"So don't go. Go into hiding with your family and stay safe." Ariana said with a small shrug. "I can't do that." Mrs. Dabney replied. "Why not?" Ariana asked. "They need me and my abilities. If I don't go they will take my family hostage." Mrs. Dabney explained.

"They do that?!" Ariana shouted. "Only to the ones they desperately need." Mrs. Dabney replied as her tears turned into giant blobs and rolled down her face. "Ariana, promise me you will stay away from the Rebellion and the church. If either one gets ahold of you then there will be no stopping this war!" Mrs. Dabney cried.

Ariana gave Mrs. Dabney a bittersweet smile. "I know. That's why I'm running away." Ariana said as showed Mrs. Dabney the package again. Mrs, Dabney froze and looked at Ariana's hands. "Is that my goodbye... sniff... oh my G*d." rs. Dabney said as she covered her mouth. "But I guess it's pointless now. It was a letter, a stuffie and blanket for Brie.. sniff, sniff... my book and the start of my prototype for Icarus's grandmother but I guess that's pointless now." Ariana said as tears welled up in her eyes.

Suddenly there was a knock on the door. "Sweetie bell, the Headmaster is looking for you!" A familiar voice sang. Mrs. Dabney paled and quickly grabbed Ariana into an embrace. "Don't say a word. I will distract Kyrie as much as I can. Escape through the window." Mrs. Dabney whispered then she pushed Ariana away. "Bye." She whispered then left. "Darling you look awful!" Kyrie shouted.
