Chapter 425 - Uselessly Pointless

Name:My Way To You Author:Scarlettbunny
"W-who says I'm joking?" Otis said with a pout. "Adelram, I think we should at least help her in something." Hadria said as she looked at Ariana pitifully. "It's not that we are forbidden to help her." Blamore said as he winked at Hadria. "Yes, we can just lead her into the right direction, I think that should be enough." Duana chimed in. "... What about what our King wants? Will he fine with what we do?" Claec asked as he quickly glanced at Loralei then looked at Adelram.

"I can not even think on behalf of our King... Ariana what do you want to do?" Adelram asked. Ariana hugged Vasu as she let out a long sigh. "I don't want your help right now." She said surprising everyone. "What do you mean?! Cough, cough, why are you pushing us away?" Claec said. Loralei rolled her eyes as she crossed her arms over her chest.

"I need to do somethings first.... I want to handle my own personal missions before I take your hands." Ariana admitted. "Personal missions?" Duana asked. "I need to save the lives of the Earth fairies and to do that I need to become the priestess one last time and heal Xander. Once I do, I can," Ariana started but Duana interrupted her with a loud No.

"You can't!" Duana shouted in a panic. "What? Why can't I? He needs to have that thing removed especially if he wants to live a happy and normal life with... with Edlyn." Ariana said awkwardly. "Duana is correct. That child can not be separated from the shadow attached to him." Adelram said with a small sigh. "You still haven't said why. I'm pretty sure if it's me I can successfully do it!" Ariana protested.

"The moment you do that child will die. He and that shadow are one." Blamore said as he gave Ariana a pitiful look. "No, I know I can do it." Ariana whispered as devastation spread across her face. "You don't get it! His fate is intertwined with that shadow. He can not be separated from it nor can he live like two separate beings like he is doing now!" Claec shouted in frustration.

"Their fate?" Ariana said quietly as she looked at Adelram, her eyes were round and shaking, she didn't know what to do. "That boy was on the verge of death when the contract was made, it is his own shadow that has given him his life again." Adelram explained. "No, no that is, I can't, that thing attached to him is a monster!" Ariana shouted. "Only because Xander sees it as a monster." Duana said with a sad smile.

Ariana was dumbstruck, she didn't know what to do. She thought that if she tapped into her powers she could have solved anything but to be told she couldn't do something was foreign. "S-so how do I save him?" Ariana asked. "How do I stop him from consuming everything that has magical powers?!" Ariana asked as panic struck her heart. "You can't." Adelram said flatly. Ariana'd head dropped, tears welled up in her eyes as a small laugh escaped her lips. "So I'm still useless..." Ariana laughed as she hugged Vasu tightly.

"You can't save everyone." Blamore said bluntly. "Then what's the point?! I was told I am here to save everyone but I can't even save my best friend's lover?! How is that not a huge contradiction to my existence?! If I can't save him, I can't save the magical creatures lives! This is complete bullsh*t!" Ariana shouted as she finally raised her gaze.

"So what? Just because you can't save his fate doesn't mean he can not live a normal life. There are other ways then using your power. If you weren't so narcissistic you could see that." Claec said bitterly. "He can be saved a different way?" Ariana asked as she slowly calmed down. "I told you he sees himself, well his shadow as a monster. If he can accept himself then he doesn't need to feed on magical creatures actually he will become more powerful and won't need his shadow self to sustain his life." Duana explained.

"So it's psychological..." Ariana said. "Yes." Adelram confirmed. "Alright... I think I will only need a day to settle everything and then I will come find you." Ariana said as she started to harden her resolve. "A day... Alright but you will only be given a full 24 hours. After that we will come for you. There will be no choice. No matter what you are doing we will take you away from it. So finish what you need to do by then." Adelram said before the others joined him.

Ariana closed her eyes and let out a long sigh. "Deal." After a moment she opened her eyes and found that she was in her room. Ariana looked around and saw that no one was around. She quickly started to rip off her uniform and rushed to her closet to find an outfit. 'Are you going to tell us what you are planning?' Aroha asked as she flew up and sat on Ariana's bed.

"Rahul will fill you in... I don't have I don't have time too." Ariana said as she flung pieces of clothing on to her bed. 'You don't have time?' Aroha asked skeptically. "T-that's right.... time... Aroha, if I start to talk about this..." Ariana said as she clutched her hoodie. "If I start I will, I will not want to go through with it." Ariana admitted quietly. Aroha stared at Ariana and sighed.

'Well talking to Rahul will be useless. I'm pretty sure you only gave him point form instructions and even then they would be so vague he wouldn't know how to explain anything. He would just go on and on about how glorious your plan is and praise how you are finally taking action.' Aroha said as she turned up her beak. "That's right, I pointless do things for my own selfishness." Ariana said with a trembling voice.

'That's not what I meant!' Aroha shouted in a panic. 'But it's the truth.' Rahul said as he walked up to Ariana. 'It's not a bad thing though. Your selfishness is not entirely selfish. So Aroha, why not just listen to her instructions as we walk down that road. Have more faith in her Aroha... We shouldn't doubt her, I know I will never do that again.' Rahul said as he looked up at Ariana.

Ariana's eyes rounded with shock. The shock didn't last very long and she gently smiled at Rahul. "Thank you."
