Chapter 400 - Your Paths

'But human will is funny and no matter how many times we interfered. In the end your mother still chose the path that we were most afraid off, when she volunteered to be i.m.p.r.e.g.n.a.t.ed by your father, her fate was sealed. There was no other choice left but for the Goddess to call us back and stop us from doing something stupid.' Rahul finished saying and his body started to glow a soft red.

"You tried changing her fate?" Ariana asked as new tears started to roll down her cheeks. 'I should have told the others but I feel at the same time they would have hated me for having the Goddess bring them here to fulfill her own selfish reasons. She really isn't a bad being she was just very inexperienced and is sorry for what happened but at the end of the day she wants her world saved.' Rahul said just as silver and gold swirls appeared on his body.

"Rahul..." Ariana called out. 'Do not worry about me. I am all in now. Whatever happens from here on out, I will be with you until the very end. If the world is destroyed I am willing to die along with you.' Rahul said with a sincere smile. Ariana broke down and hugged Rahul with everything she had. "Rahul I'm so sorry." Ariana cried. 'No child I am sorry. If I never met the Goddess you wouldn't be here.' Rahul said pitifully.

Ariana cried for a long time and by the time she finally let go of Rahul, his entire back was soaked with her tears. "Rahul, now that you are no longer attached to the Goddess will you tell me something?" Ariana asked. Rahul had started to groom his back. He didn't like being wet. 'I will answer anything as long as you are ready to hear it.' Rahul replied. "Owen," Ariana started but Rahul kept grooming away. "Will I ever find Owen again?" Ariana asked. 

'Yes.' Rahul answered absentmindedly. "Will I fall in love with him again?" Ariana asked. 'Depends... are you willingly to part with your current lover for Owen or are you willing to start a harem?' Rahul asked as he turned to face Ariana. "I..." Ariana started to say but then she went silent. 'You're not ready to answer so I will not tell you what family he was reborn into.' Rahul said then he got up and started to walk away. 

"Wait Rahul! Come one! I don't know what my heart will do." Ariana complained. 'What if he was reborn as a female?' Rahul asked as he looked back. "Rahul!" Ariana shouted as she got up. Rahu laughed and continued to walk away. "You're joking right? Come on! Tell me you're joking!" Ariana shouted as she chased after her cat. Unknown to them that someone was watching from within the forest. 

"Wait!" Ariana shouted just as they reached the porch of the Dabney's home. Rahul sighed as he sat down on the porch and waited for Ariana to ask. "M-my father.... Did he... Is he okay?" Ariana asked with great difficulty. Rahul turned his head back and looked at Ariana with shock. 'You want to know if he's okay?' Rahul asked. "Yes." Ariana said with a firm head nod. Rahul plopped onto the ground laughing. 'You seriously surprise me every single time!' He hollered.

"Rahul, I'm being serious." Ariana whispered. Rahul stopped laughing and got of the porch. He then jumped on to the hand railing and narrowed his gaze at Ariana. 'The information will hurt you. Not just hurt you but might push you down a hard path.' Ariana dropped her gaze.

'Think carefully little one. Knowing how you are, you will not stop at just the one question and then what? My foresight only went so far. I know exactly what happened to him but after your awakening I have no idea.' Rahul said in a cool tone. "Which awakening?" Ariana asked. Rahul went quiet and just walked the length on the hand railing along the porch. "Which awakening Rahul?" Ariana asked again.

'When you got your memories back. We had to make sure you got your memories back no matter what. So we made sure a messenger went to Lady Zula.' Rahul said. "So much was planned out." Ariana said bitterly. 'I wish we could have planned out more but we were running out of time. We wished that Lady Zula would have found you sooner but again human will is fickle.' Rahul said before he jumped down and walked up to Ariana.

He started to rub his body against her leg as if to console her. 'We were supposed to meet so much sooner and help you get to a point in your path were your fate would be locked in but now, now we just have to keep you safe and let you figure out what you want to do.' Ariana bent down with trembling hands and picked up Rahul. She then brought his chubby face to her hers and rubbed it with her cheek.

"Let's go inside." She whispered. Rahul purred but a horrible ache settled into his heart. Ariana stopped cuddling Rahul then walked up the few steps. 'He's alive.' Rahul murmured causing Ariana to flinch. "I, I think that's good enough for now." She replied then walked into the house.

The moment Ariana closed the door behind her Vasu flew as fast as he could and collided into her body. Ariana was lost in thought and didn't prepare for the impact. She then fell on to the door and was dumbstruck. When she finally recovered she was sitting on the floor and staring into Vasu's pouting face. "Vasu?" Ariana called out. Vasu narrowed his gaze and snorted hot air.

Ariana dropped her gaze and saw what was causing Vasu's bad mood. Rahul was happily laying in Vasu's favourite spot. Ariana broke out into a loud, hearty laugh. Vasu wasn't impressed while Rahul gave him a smug smile. Vasu then tried to push Rahul out of his spot but Rahul was not budging. Ariana finally calmed down and raised her left arm, signalling Vasu to cuddle against her face.

Vasu gave Ariana a conflict gaze, he looked in between his spot and the new spot. He wanted his old spot so badly but the new spot wasn't bad either. "I'll give you some kisses too." Ariana said sweetly. Vasu no longer hesitated and took the new spot with pride. The other Lumas looked at the scene and were glaring at Vasu with envy.
