7 The Stupid, Logical Self

Name:My Perfect Lady Author:Saumya_Singh
Miya walked around, thinking hard. Her heart was racing in her chest, and she couldn't help but feel a little dizzy.

What now?

What the hell had she done? Moreover, how was she going to escape these circumstances?

She looked over at a small bed in the corner, where she had quietly put Ben to sleep. The child was snoring slightly, which gave her some relief. She immediately quickened her steps and thought: Should she just vacate the building and run away? If she was fast enough, she might be able to accomplish it before the CEO woke up.

There was also chloroform. If she used that, she'd be able to get a few more hours.

And almost suddenly, she was filled with anger.

What was the matter with her?! Why could her brain only come up with violent or escapist solutions in such grave situations? She hated her brain!

Not to mention, this was the Hunter Corporation's heir she had messed with. How difficult would it be for them to track her anyway? She wasn't some spy, that she could just disappear without a trace.

Miya sighed. Her head was starting to hurt now.

Anyhow, she contemplated what her chances of being forgiven were. She was just a pauper, who had nothing to do with aristocratic families whatsoever. Was this Hunter being kind enough to let her go without consequences?

"You hit him with a broom, woman," a voice inside her called out, "You bathed him in dirty water and wiped him with a mop. He's lying on your trash can right now."

Miya hit her head.

There was no way out of this, was there?

How did she make such a mistake anyway?

Moreover, why did a C.E.O., this big-shot man, come over to her place?

She was frowning now, thinking harder.

Wait a damn second. Something was amiss.

Why would he come all the way over to her house, just because of a perversion? He must have plenty of women at his disposal. Also, she wasn't even beautiful. Then why…

Or maybe it was simply perversion. There were ample freaks out there.

Confused, she looked around in the small space of her room, and finally found her mobile under the mattress. It was a cheap smartphone, and it had taken her a while to buy it, but one really couldn't survive without the internet in these times.

Especially not someone like her.

She quickly typed "Jimmy Hunter" on Google. There came ten pages worth of results, along with a few images. The Jimmy Hunter in those pictures looked like a proud, cold man, far from reach. When she glanced towards her garbage bin, the same man seemed so out of place in her room that her eyes bulged out. Moreover, he was unrecognizable, with drooping shoulders and water still dripping from his hair.

So different from the pictures she was seeing.

Shrugging, she opened the first link and began to read.

There were posts suggesting he might be gay, and next to nothing was known about his personal life. He was extremely efficient at work, of course, and seldom appeared for interviews of any sort. Besides his academic credentials, not much was known to the world about this man.

Going by the internet, and internet was mostly reliable for her, the man wasn't a womanizer. Unless he had a secret hobby of chasing downhill women and hiding it from the world, that is. It was also a possibility, albeit, a remote one.

Miya sighed. s

Knowledge was power, but so far she had gained nothing to make her feel powerful.

Meanwhile, Jimmy Hunter had begun to shrug.

He had already visited the Prairies, forests, rivers, lakes, and was now on his way back home. He was flying amongst the clouds, the world was beneath him, when suddenly something dropped on his head. He looked up to see that it was a broom. It began wiping his face in mid-air.

This filthy broom… it had dared to touch him!

"You don't touch me!" He suddenly shouted, now violently pulled out of his dreamland, "Nobody dares to touch me!"

His bellow was so loud, Miya nearly jumped out of her skin. The mobile dropped from her hand and fell to the floor.

She looked at Jim in surprise.

The young master shrugged, his eyes a demonic red as he looked up. His expression was foul, so cold that his gaze felt like blades on the skin. He barely gave the room a glance, the odour of his body was enough to remind him of where he was and what had happened there.

He snarled.

These people were dead. He was going to throttle them with his bare hands.

When Miya saw his face, she got goose bumps all over her body. The man was definitely thinking of murder. She wanted to cry.

The worst thing was, he could do it, and get away with it too. And nobody would ever know.

Jimmy kept on glaring before himself, slowly making out the small figure of the woman. She was looking at him with wide eyes, frozen in place.

Just the sight of her filled him with hatred.

He had to kill her. He should kill her! She had dared to… she…

Argh! There was no way he would marry her now!

"But you can, this is your best chance," his brain told him immediately.

Jimmy didn't feel like listening to his rational self, because he knew it would make some sort of distorted sense. Right now, he just wanted revenge. People would stand in queue all day just to have a single glance at him, and this woman had…!

"Listen to me," the stupid, logical self of him began again, "You already got something you can use. Now, you can also use intimidation. Nobody touches you, right? Get her to marry you, anyhow. You don't have a lot of time left. And as for revenge, old Hunter is going to do that for you once you tie the knot. The Hunter Corporation, Jim. Think only of it."

Jim was swayed. Furious, but swayed.

It made sense.

He was insulted, of course, and in the most brutal manner possible, but it could be used to his advantage. The woman already appeared afraid of him. And when he hardened his glare, she flinched, almost shivering.

Jim smiled.

This might be easy.

He got up from wherever he was. Strangely, his ass hurt, but he made the effort. Or tried to, before he realized that his hands and legs were tied up.

The f***.

This woman… she had summoned the devil. She was definitely dead now!
