Chapter 132 - Cooking The Unknown Eel-like Fish

"That's amazing."

Rant Valo said to Floriana Sabina in awe. She made everything so simple. He didn't even have to do anything.

"Fufufu. Doesn't cultivation make things more convenient, Disciple?"

Floriana Sabina asked Rant Valo with a cheeky smile.

"Yes, Master Floriana. I can't wait to be able to do the same."

Rant Valo nodded his head at her. Once he could do what she just did, camping would just be a piece of cake. It gave him another reason to be diligent in cultivation.

"Now, let's cook these fishes."

Rant Valo said to them.

First, he descaled the fish. Second, he gutted it. Third, he seasoned it with the spices and seasonings they got. And lastly, he cooked it in the flame.

"Ohhh! Master, it smells delicious already!"

Veia exclaimed as she smelled the aroma coming from the skewered fish sizzling on the fire.

"I know, right? This fish seems to be a good one."

Rant Valo agreed with her. Even he wasn't sure if this fish would be much tastier than a Spirit Fish as it already smells good.

"Disciple, cook it quickly!"

Floriana Sabina shouted from the side. She was already eager to eat the fish. Her eyes were locked onto it like a lioness eyeing its prey.

"Yes, yes. Be patient, Master Floriana."

Rant Valo cooked the fish slowly to draw out its delicious umami flavor. Of course, it only made Floriana Sabina even more impatient as she waited longer.

"Done!"

After a dozen minutes of agonizingly watching the fish cook, Rant Valo was finally done.

Swoosh!

Instantly, Floriana Sabina's hand grabbed one of the fishes.

Sni~ff

Floriana Sabina took in a great sniff of the fish. Her nose was overloaded with the delicious aroma of the perfectly cooked fish. The seasonings and spices only made it even better.

After giving it a good sniff, Floriana Sabina took a big bite of the meat of the fish. She chewed it as steam rose from the juicy meat of the fish.

"Waaaaaa~! Delicious! Disciple, you got to try this!"

Floriana Sabina's eyes glowed brightly after giving the fish meat a couple of chews. The Spirit Fish that they had eaten was incomparable to this. It was like the difference between heaven and earth.

Seeing that Floriana Sabina had already started to eat hers, Rant Valo blew on his still hot fish. He wasn't like her who could eat food even if it was still piping hot.

A few seconds later, Floriana Sabina had already finished her fish. She turned her hungry eyes towards the fish in Rant Valo's hands.

"Eek! This is my fish!"

Rant Valo hid the fish behind him when he saw Floriana Sabina's hungry gaze. That single fish did not even satiate her appetite. It was just like an appetizer to her.

"Disciple, you can cook another one, right?"

Floriana Sabina walked towards Rant Valo with a sinister grin. She kept looking at his arms that were hiding the fish behind him.

"I'm also hungry, Master Floriana!"

Rant Valo protested. If he gave her this fish, he would have to cook another one which would take a while to be done. He would grow even more hungry if that happens as the smell would stimulate his appetite.

"Hmph. Forget it. Just cook more while you wait for yours to cool."

Floriana Sabina stopped. She might as well just wait. She figured that it will be unfair for Rant Valo if she ate his share.

Rant Valo released a sigh when he heard her words. He was finally able to relax. This fish almost turned this place into a bloodbath.

"Master, I'll cool the fish for you while you cook more."

Veia offered from the side. She had been silently watching them all this time. It took a great deal of her will to stop herself from stealing her master's fish.

"Alright. Thank you."

Rant Valo gave it to her without any worry. He knows that Veia understands what will happen if she ate all of it. She would become crazy.

Veia took the still steaming fish from Rant Valo. She gave it a good sniff, and she couldn't help but tingle in pleasure.

As for Rant Valo, he grabbed his wooden spear and started fishing for more fish. It took him about a quarter of an hour to catch 20 more fish. It was enough for him and Floriana Sabina to split evenly.

"Here, Master."

Veia passed the fish she was holding onto to Rant Valo. There were obvious bite marks on it.

"..."

Rant Valo took it into his hand slowly. His cheeks couldn't help but twitch.

"Master, it was just so delicious I couldn't help it..."

Veia explained herself when she saw the weird look Rant Valo was giving the fish.

"Ehem, I'll just eat it like this."

Rant Valo faked a cough before he took a bite into the fish. It was not as hot as before. It was now bearable and just at the right temperature.

"MMM!"

Rant Valo's eyes widened as he chewed the fish meat. It was like he was eating something that shouldn't exist in this world.

After a few more bites, Rant Valo was already done with the fish. He couldn't help but look at those fishes he caught earlier. They looked appetizing the more he looked at them.

"I'll cook more!"

Rant Valo shouted with great vigor. Floriana Sabina nodded her head seriously. She was finally gonna get another one.

After a while, Rant Valo cooked all of the fish. He was now eating it together with Floriana Sabina.

"Delicious! We should just live here forever!"

Rant Valo couldn't help but say. This was something that he didn't even say when he ate the Spirit Fish.

"I agree, Disciple. But we need to go to the more powerful regions."

Floriana Sabina was in full agreement with Rant Valo. These fishes are simply too divine tasting for them to just leave this place.

"Anyway, what is this place?"

Rant Valo couldn't help but ask.

Rustle Rustle

The bushes from the side of the forest were disturbed. Rant Valo, Veia, and Floriana Sabina turned their head towards it.
