113 He's Mine

Imperial city.

"Have you found her?" Ren Zhi loosens his tie a bit. He is now working at his father company.

"Yes. But from the investigation, she lives alone and had no contact with any men." One of his informants gives the report about Xue Mei to him.

"That's good. Just keep an eye for her." He said and ended the call.

Not long after, Ha Eun knocks on his study room's door.

"Ren.." She brings him a tea and snack for his evening hi-tea.

"Hey, I told you to not carry these things. We have a maid to do it. Why are you so stubborn?" He takes the tray and led her to sit on the couch. She looks a bit pale.

"Hmm. Ren, did you find her yet?" She asks. She knew Ren Zhi was searching for Xue Mei for months since she decides to leave him.

"I did. But, she is now living peacefully and furthers her studies. So I won't disturb her." His eyes show a glint of sorrow. He did love her but he was entangled with his past love.

He admits he was wrong to always treat her as a second and always prioritize Ha Eun first. But it can't be helped. Both of the girls is important to him.

"Don't you want to see her? Maybe she was just angry that day. Try to reconcile with her." She tries to give him support. Even though she knew it was her fault to make him bound with her like this.

But she also loves this man in front of her. She loves him so much that she willing to do anything to have him back. Never that she knew before, Xue Mei was a very kind girl. She never says anything harsh to her and that's torture her a little when she had to hurt her this way.

Smiling at her, he sips his cup of tea. "No. Let's focus on your condition first."

Early in the morning, Xue Mei makes Xui Li a breakfast before she went to her campus.

She put a note on the table and leave the spare keys for him. Rushing, she bites her bread while running to go to her class.

"Xue Mei!" Milan calls her name from afar. She looks at her with a bit 'Eeuww' face.

"What are you doing? You look like a dog with your bread on your mouth." She said.

Give her the files on her hand, she then takes the bread from her mouth and said. "It's your fault. Your file makes me not enough hand to hold my bread." She bristled.

"Oh..hihi..sorry. By the way, thanks for bringing it for me." She smiles at her.

"Ergh..do not leave it at my apartment again."

"Ah, I'll remember that. Oh, by the way, can I crash at your apartment tonight?" She asks while making the puppy eyes.

"What? Why?"

"Erm..my mom went out of the town. So, I hate to be home alone. You know, maybe someone will kidnap me while I'm sleeping."

"You're too paranoid. And my answer is no." She rejected her idea.

"Huh? Why?" She already pouted.

"I told you, my boyfriend coming over for a week. My apartment only has one bedroom. So, no. Can't help." She still refuses.

"Aww...Xue Mei. I can sleep on your couch. I won't try to listen to your moaning 'ah-ah' sound. I promise you." When she makes that sound, a few students turn to look at them.

"Hey shhh!" She hush her to quiet down.

"Come on..help me, please?" She clasps her fingers with both of her hand and blinks her eyes a few times.

Sighing, she said. "I can't..my boyfriend is someone that I can't reveal his identity."

Her eyes turn gleaming. "Is he a professional killer? A spy? Or is he a prince?"

"Huh?"

"Okay, scratch that prince. You're too 'ugly' to get a prince. But, please….I beg you.." She already kneeling down with fake tears.

"Geez!! this stupid girl. Fine! Just one night. And you need to return back to your house! You got that?" She said firmly.

"Yes! Ma'am." She salutes her with a happy face.

"And one more thing, once you saw my boyfriend, you need to keep your mouth shut! Forever! And don't tell anyone about it!" Again, she warns her.

"Yes! Ma'am!"

"Good. Now, off we go to the class." She said and both of them went to their class.

Xui Li yawned a bit. When he wakes up, Xue Mei was already off to her class.

He takes a bath and went out of the room. He smiles upon seeing a breakfast on the kitchen counter with a note under it.

"I'll be back around 3 PM. Use your time to take a stroll or watch a movie. Ah, don't forget to eat your breakfast. -love-"

Put the note back at the kitchen counter, he took the plate and eat the breakfast that she prepared for him. Simple, but it tastes so delicious to him.

After breakfast, he took the spare keys and going outside for strolling around the city as Xue Mei suggest. He buys a lot of dress, heels, and all of the girls' accessories for her. Yes, he knew Xue Mei's size because he already snaps a picture of her dress and heels size before he went out.

He wants to give something for her as a boyfriend would do to his girlfriend. Since they had a long distance relationship, they had less time to meet and date. It frustrates him but he keeps telling himself it's for only a short of time. Once she graduates, he will marry her and stay with her.

He stops at Tiffany & Co. Jewelry shop. Went inside the store, he finds something for Xue Mei. He wants to give her a ring, but it would be too early to give her that. After long thinking, he decides to give her a necklace.

He buys her a round pendant with baguette aquamarines stone with a platinum necklace. Under the pendant is carved with her name and his name too. Wrapped with a velvet luxury box, Xui Li was satisfied.

He pay a big amount of money for that necklace but it doesn't concern him, he had a lot of money after all.

Look at his watch, it already 3.30 PM. He went to buy some grocery before he walks back to Xue Mei's apartment.

Open the door, he looked at the girl which is sitting on Xue Mei's couch. She also looked at him. Her jaw drops upon seeing his face.

Xui Li immediately close back the door. He could hear that girl screaming in excited. He then looks at the number plate on the door.

"This is the right house. But where is my darling?" He murmurs and opens the door back hoping that he can see his darling inside the house.

Like magic, once he opens the door, Xue Mei standing there looking at him with her scrunching eyebrow.

"What are you doing, playing with the door?" She asks.

"Oh, baby! I'm so glad." He went inside and close the door back. When he wants to approach her, he saw a glimpse of other people behind his girlfriend.

He stops midway. "Who is she?"

She turns her head to behind her back. "Hey, come out. Don't hide behind me." Xue Mei moves to the side.

Grinning with a stupid smile on her face, she looks at him with full of adoration.

"Uh..ha ha ha..Xue Mei, is this your boyfriend?" her voice turns into a robot mode.

"Urgh...I told you, didn't I? This is my boyfriend. Xui Li. Or his commercial name Feng Li." She introduces her to Xui Li.

With a shy, she wants to extend her hand, but immediately Xue Mei grabs her hand. "Na-uh... no touching. He's mine."

"Stingy." She pouted a bit.

Seeing how protective her girlfriend is, his heart flutter with happiness.

"Nice to meet you." He looks at Milan before he diverts his eyes to Xue Mei. "Dear, I bought a lot of ingredients to cook tonight."

"Hmm. Thank you, darling." She went to him and get the grocery bag from him and bring to the kitchen counter.
