95 I'm Cold

Half an hour earlier.

"Xue Mei, where are we?" Ha Eun starts to feel uneasy when the route they take has no one else besides them.

"I think we're in this area." Xue Mei took out her map and show to Ha Eun.

"Oh..so we gonna take this route to go back. They must be worrying about us. I also need to take my medicine. I left it on my bag at the locker. Let's go." She starts to slide down while Xue Mei right at behind her.

In the middle of their way back, Ha Eun suddenly feels her heart racing and she couldn't breathe properly. She stops and kneels down while clenching her hand on her chest.

"Ergh!!"

"Ha Eun!" Xue Mei also stops and take off her ski. She jabs her ski pole on the ground before she went to her.

"Are you okay? What's wrong?" She tries to look around them and as before there's no one in their area.

"My chest hurt. I couldn't breathe" She said slowly with a pale face. Her eyes were a bit teary trying to endure the pain.

"Hold on, I try to find someone." She said and run to the nearest place forth and back and still, there's no one there.

"Mei...Just help…help me to the nearest stop." He tries to call Xue Mei.

Turning back to her, she helps her and walks down the route slowly. Ha Eun's complexion becomes paler and she starting to lose her consciousness.

A few minutes later, Ren Zhi saw a glimpse of two girls walking down the path of the terrain, he slide his ski and went to them before he stops his ski in front of them. He was so shocked to see Ha Eun in a weak condition.

"What happen?! Why is she like this?!" He roared at Xue Mei and looks at Ha Eun's pale face.

Xue Mei shrunk a bit when he suddenly raising his voice to her. Shocked and sad. "She...She said her chest hurt. She..she couldn't breathe."

Ren took over Ha Eun body and check on her pulse before he checks on his watch. "She passes her medicine time." He murmurs and with furious he look at Xue Mei.

"Hurry up, get your ski and get down to the station. I'll be leaving first. She needs to go to the hospital." He carries her in his arm, and give the ski pole to Xue Mei.

"How useless can you be?" He growled and started to move his legs.

Xue Mei did not say anything until Ren moves his ski and she hurriedly went back to where she left her ski and poles, she also carries Ha Eun ski and poles. "Erm...I can't carry it back while I'm skiing, guess I could only walk and bring this equipment back."

Once she turns around, Ren Zhi has already left her and no track at all. She almost cries there.

"It's okay Shen Xue Mei. You have your maps." She took out the map and observe where is she right now.

With a lot of things happen to her, she can't concentrate at all. Her tears already roll down. "Where am I?" She starts to cry.

Put back the maps inside her pocket, she starts walking. Not long before suddenly she feels the ground shook and when she turn around, she could only see big white snow waves coming fast to her.

She runs as fast she can and she thought that hiding behind the tree could at least save her from the avalanche. She went to the tree area and once step at behind one of the tree ground, she falls down into a hole.

"Ahhh!!!!"

"Help! I need an ambulance or whatever to send her to the hospital!" He still carries Ha Eun in his arm when he bangs the door using his ski boots.

Clatter!

Risa, Xui Li, and Ying Yue hurriedly went to him in panic. All other people also gather around him.

"What happens?" Xui Li start.

"Where's Xue Mei?" Risa also asks.

"Risa, please..use your authorization to help her," Ren begs at her.

Without any delay, she makes a call for a helicopter to come to their station immediately.

"Ren! Where's Xue Mei?!" Xui Li already grab his jacket when there's no hint of her at all behind him.

"She's supposed to be following me from behind," Ren said.

"Follow you?! You're fast Ren, she's just a beginner. She can't keep up with you." Ying Yue look at him in disbelief.

"So, in another word, you just abandon her? In this situation?! Seriously, Ren?!" Xui Li couldn't contain his anger anymore.

He took his snowboard and went outside. All the people in the lounge could only look at them bickering and some of them try to help Ha Eun with first aid before the helicopter arrive.

Risa already crying hoping that Xue Mei will be safe and Xui Li can find her before..it's too late.

"Xue Mei!!" Xui Li cried out loud.

He went for searching her in the middle of the storm and after 15 minutes, he found her ski and ski poles not far from the track that avalanche just happen.

He takes off his boots from his snowboard and runs to the nearest alpine tree. "Xue Mei!!!"

He tries to dig the snow using the snowboard. "Come on! God, please." He really in panics now.

"Xui….Li…" After a few minutes he dig the snow, he heard someone call his name with a slow and trembling voice.

"Xue Mei, where are you?!" He stops digging and looks around.

"I'm..here.."

He ran to the voice source until he found her sitting down in a deep hole and covered with snow inside it. The hole is blocked by the big tree and only a bit snow manage to fall into the hole when the avalanche happens.

"Oh! Thank God you're safe." He went to the edge of the hole and try to extend his hand to her but the hole is quite deep.

"Can you stand up? I'll try to get you out using the snowboard." He said and bring his snowboard to the edge of the hole.

"Erm...I can't." She shakes her head. "I think I broke my ankle." She has been sat on the ground for awhile while waiting for someone to find her and the first voice she heard is Xui Li's voice.

"it's okay. Just grab on my snowboard and I pull you out of there. Okay?" He tries to calm her down.

While in the process of taking her out, he could feel a second wave of the avalanche.

Raise his head up, he couldn't believe his eyes. He immediately says to her "Xue Mei, retreat back, there's a second wave. It's bigger than before, I guess."

He jumps inside the hole and pushes his snowboard upward at the hole's mouth.

Grrr…..Grrrr…

5 minutes pass.

"Urgh! I can't hold on anymore." He said and try with his all might to make sure the snow can't get inside the hole and buried them alive.

Xue Mei already half buried with the snow and after the loud sound clear, Xui Li pushes the snowboard to flip.

Bash!

"Huff..huff.." He huffing and turn around.

Xue Mei already leans on the hole wall with no more energy. Her body is in great ached, her mind also is loaded with so many things and the harsh word from Ren, her ankle hurt like hell. She just wants to sleep right now. Hoping that can at least ease her pain away.

"Hey, Hey Xue Mei. Don't fall asleep." He tries to dig her out from the snow that buried half of her body.

Put her on his laps, she starts shivering and her body trembling.

"Hold on, okay. The rescue team must be on their way to find us." He tries to pacify her even though he doesn't know whether there's a rescue team or not.

"I'm..I'm cold." She said and cry at the same moment.

"It's okay, I'm here. Sorry, I took so long to find you." He wipes her tears and hugs her

The hole is covered with snow, he can't get out of it as the snow close the way out and only left him a hole that he or either Xue Mei can't pass it. But, at least, they still could breathe until the team comes.
