65 You're Quiet Than Usual

"Umm. Xui Li, h..how long have they been together?" She tries to courage up and ask him about Ren.

Glance a bit at her, he says, "Around half of the year I think."

"Oh..it's still new. Has he been in good condition when I was away?"

"Not at all. Where did you go all these past years Ha Eun?" He already turns to her.

She clearly holds her tears as she clenches her both of hand tightly.

"I..I was.." She sniffing a bit. Not knowing how to answer him.

Hold her hand, Xui Li said. "It's okay if you don't want to talk about it. But, just so you know. He was hurt so much when you're gone. He almost kills himself back then, you know."

Snaps her head, she shot him with a guilty face. Her tears already well up. "He..he…do that?" Her voice trembling and her tears flow down on her cheek.

"It's okay. He's fine now. You see it yourself right?" He tries to calm her down.

"I..I..I'm sorry." She starts to cry and her body jolts because she tries to hold her sobs.

Pull her body closer to him, he caresses her hair and her back. "Shh..it's okay. It's all in the past."

"Xui Li.." Xue Mei went out from the room and find that both of them in a hugging position again.

A similar feeling still lingering in her heart. But immediately she brushes it off. Not wanting to disturb those two, she went to the kitchen.

She wants to feed Ren Zhi with the food that she bought, but once he enters the kitchen, she could see that Ha Eun already prepare him dinner. It's all already set in a tray at the top of the counter.

Took a spoon, she tries the porridge she makes. 'Mmmm.. delicious.'

"Erm..let just put this two dish inside the tray and let Ren Zhi choose it by himself." She put the dinner that she bought earlier on the bowl before she put it onto the tray.

After done, she brings the tray to Ren Zhi's room.

Place it on the moveable table in front of him, she helps him to sit up. She did not say anything about which one is hers and which one is Ha Eun. She just wants to watch it, which one he will choose.

Looked at the tray, he turns to look at Xue Mei after that. "Why there are two dishes?"

"Hm? Well, to make you plumper." She grinning.

"Silly." He bonks her head with his knuckles.

He unconsciously takes a porridge bowl and eats it. Once he tastes the flavor, he looks at Xue Mei again.

She still with her smile on her face.

"This is not yours, right?" He asks.

'He can tell!'

"How do you know?" She was still the same as before with smiling on her face.

"Of course I know how my girlfriend's cooking." He said it and after a moment he turns silent. Knowing that his word doesn't fit with the situation right now.

"I..I mean, I remember the taste of your cooking at your house last time." He tries to fix it back.

Chuckles, she shakes her head. "Relax. I know I'm not a great cook. I taste it earlier too, and it's good. She really can cook. There's nothing wrong even if you eat it. As long as you eat to get healthy again."

He smile and stroke her hair. "This is why I love you so much."

"I know." She winks at him and watches him to eat his supper.

After washing the dish and clean the kitchen, Xue Mei look at the clock that hanging on the wall. It's already 12.30 am. She needs to go back to the dorm.

Xui Li fall asleep while sitting on the couch while Ha Eun sits beside him reading some book.

"Um, Ha Eun. I think I would be returning back to the dorm now with Xui Li. Ren also already asleep.."

"Oh..okay then...I should also get going. Sorry I didn't check on the time." She immediately closes her book and standing up.

"I help you to wake up Xui Li." She said and pats on Xui Li's arm.

"Xui Li...Xui Li.."

Looking at how she wakes him up makes her heart throbbing in pain a bit. She ignores it and went to the bedroom. Took the bag and kiss Ren Zhi on his forehead.

"Get well soon, Ren." She whispers and leaves the room after that.

When she went out, Xui Li was already awake. He stretched up a bit and Ha Eun laughs at him who looks like a kid.

"Don't laugh." He pokes her nose with his finger and both of them went to the door followed by Xue Mei.

After seeing Ha Eun close her apartment door, both of them went to the elevator.

Xue Mei remains silent.

"Xue Mei? What's wrong? You're quiet than usual." He asks her when the elevator door's open.

"Nothing. I just tired." She said slowly. Right now she didn't even understand the feeling that she had kept feels when it comes to Xui Li.

She was sure that she loves Ren Zhi and not him. So why she always feels hurt when seeing Xui Li with another woman? Especially Ha Eun.

"...Mei.."

He holds her shoulder to make her stop. Back to reality. She turns to look at him. "Huh?"

"My parking in this way." He said with a gentle voice.

"Oh! Sorry." She shakes her head and follows behind him. When they want to cross to the other side, Xui Li grabs her hand and led her to his car.

He makes her feel secure and all the fire burning inside her heart recede bit by bit.

The next morning,

Early in the morning she already gets a notification from Risa.

"Wake up. Don't forget to cheer on me!"

Xue Mei throws her phone on her pillow. "Of course I'll cheer you. Geez.." She rolled on the bed and suddenly she remembers about Ren.

She immediately picks her phone again and sends a message to Ren.

"Babe, did you feel alright, today?"

Beep!

Her phone beeped and she slides it open.

"Yes, dear. Thanks to you."

She smiles happily and replies to him again. "Then, tonight?"

"I'll pick you up at 7 sharp. This time, you need to go with me. Got it?"

"Yes, boss!" She replies and not long after, she sat up from the bed. Yawning and stretching up a bit.

Xue Mei wears navy blue color summer lace off shoulder dress with a high-low cut. It is now summer, so wearing something long would make her feel uncomfortable and hot.

She makes her hair styled with a high messy bun and leave her fringe cover her forehead.

She looks cute like seventeen years old teenagers who want to go to prom night.

Not long after, Ren Zhi beeps his honk at the outside of the girls' dorm. She went outside of the dorm and get inside the car.

"You look beautiful."

"Haa~ I know." She smiles happily to him.

"Let's go then." He drives to the auditorium.
