Luckily the transfer student didn't hear it clearly and since the class already start right after she sit at her assigned seats, of course, she studies in advance so that she won't be left behind in the class and that's the reason she answered right when their professor called her attention to answer the professor question.

Getting high marks from the entrance examination is both have pros and cons, the pros one is you got the high marks because of the intelligence you earn and inherited it while the cons of it, everyone will be remarkable on you and expect more from you especially the teachers and professors just because you got the high marks so getting low score is really less your points but well as for her, she just do what she can do and if she gets a low score just be it since she can't do everything after all and she's only a human that commits mistake but learns from it.  ​​

Every time she answered right, Lian always commented quietly show off, and then to their last class for that day he happened to said it loud that enough for everyone from the class to hear it clearly.

Everyone from the class got dumbfounded and surprised that they happened to look in Lian's direction and because Lian just said it loud after the transfer student answered the correct answer.

The transfer student is just wondering at the same time and only thinking right after she heard him. 'What did Mr. Smith means by show-off, is it me? Well, of course, it's me since he just said it right after I got it right but the problem is, what did I do to him for him to be like that?'

Meanwhile, the professor for the class asks the top student "Mr. Smith, is there something wrong?"

"No nothing's wrong Professor Leng"

"Good to know, so now, class, for your first project, I will allow all ladies to pick one piece of roll paper from this one [showing the box] and select your partner for the next project for our class, so then may I call the attention of all the ladies in class to stand and line up according to your last names by ascending. Oh, right Miss [pointing to the transfer student] since you are a new transfer student of us, you will be the first to pick one, okay?"

"Yes, Professor Leng" then she go first and picks one that she almost rolling it but got stop by her Professor.

"Sorry for not informing you in advance but you can only open it after everyone picks one, is that alright?"

"Uh-uh" then rolled it back since she got almost rolling it half.

"Good and now ladies pick one." Then every lady of the class picks according to their last name. "Alright so now you can open it and see who will be your partner for this project then approach your partner right away"

The ladies of the class including the transfer students rolling it and everyone got disappointed since they didn't partner to whom they want to be partners with then approach their partner. As for the transfer student, she only got disappointed because her partner happened to be Lian that she doesn't know what she did to him that Lian is so against on her.

"Miss, what's the problem?" Ask the transfer student since she didn't approach her partner yet.

"Nothing's wrong Professor Leng"

"I see and then go to your partner if you don't have a problem, okay?"

"Uh-uh"

Lian realized that no one approaches him yet and then also heard her professor that he had some guesses that indeed his partner happened to be this show-off transfer student of them.

Lian said it to her the moment she approaches him "eh, you are my partner for this project?" And luckily everyone happened to not heard it since they are currently chatting to their partner and waiting for their professor's next instruction.

"I guess so"

"What?"

"I pick your name so it means you're my partner for this project, right?"

"Yeah but can you at least pick one of our classmates aside from me because I don't want to be a partner with you, can you?"

"That's not a problem for me but then the one I got is your name which is Mr. Lian Smith or is there another Lian Smith in here then?"

"…. [Lian almost got speechless and then call his Professor attention] Professor Leng" 

"Yes, Mr. Smith?"

"Can I work alone on this project?"

"That won't do Mr. Smith since this first project will only work for partner, well, I guess you can do it alone since you're the top student after all but then Mr. Smith, you are a student of the Business Department and in the future, you will run a business but then don't tell me you won't partnered someone just because you don't like that someone, is that how a business student will react?"

"No I won't Professor Leng and it's just that I don't want to be partnered with this [pointing her] transfer student here but I can be a partner with someone of my classmate except for her."

"You are contradicting with yourself Mr. Smith and if you don't want to be a partner with her then expect to receive 0 marks for this project, so which one?"

"That..." Lian got speechless and can't retort back.

"Just I said a while ago that these first projects that I assigned for everyone will only work with a partner and so working alone is a big no to do so. Now everyone this project will be needed to submit the next two weeks from now, failure to submit will automatically receive 0 marks from me, and also that's the same if you won't work on this project with your partner. For this project, the scenario will be you and your partner have decided to open a business but then in the following next two months after you open the business you almost go for bankruptcy, so what are the following steps you can do to avoid bankruptcy? For example: decreasing your workforce and explain why. And so now everyone discusses this one with your partner, you have 60 minutes or exactly one hour to discuss."

Except for Lian and the transfer student, they answered in sync "yes Professor Leng"
