Chapter 639 - Vol 8: Ch 639 – The first official meeting with the Li’s and the Smith

Mother Li knocks on the door to her younger daughter after leaving their room and Lindy opens her daughter with sleepy eyes.

"Mom, it's still 1 am"

"I know but I can come in"

"Okay" then let her mother in.

"Your Dad just comes back from the company"

"And what happened?"

"We are now on the brink of bankruptcy"

"Geez that idiot Sister of mine and if she letting her pride down then apologize instead for sure we are not on the brink of bankruptcy" Just said what's on her mind without knowing that Danni heard it clearly since she eavesdropped on their conversation when she happened to go out from her happened to think and see her mother knocking to her younger sister's room.

"Thank you Lindy and be ready tomorrow"

"Eh Mom tomorrow right away"

"Yes because you might change your mind but you don't need to worry Lindy because I and your Dad won't force you"

On the next day, around 10 am, the Li's and the Smith are now in their first meeting with their complete family members at the Smith Garden Hotel. Of course, Smith is really aware of the brink of bankruptcy of the Li's and plans to cancel the engagement between the Smith and the Li's but then the son of Smith stops it because he really wants to marry Lindy.

Li: [Mother] sorry for the short notice everyone.

Smith: [Mother] well we don't mind and first let's order our foods first. Lian, you can seat beside Lindy. [Lian just nodded while Lindy going to react but stop herself because she doesn't want to offend Smith.

Smith: [Father, actually he is Geo Smith] Woah, Mr. Li and Mrs. Li you do really have a pair of beautiful daughters.

Li: [Mother] Thank you for that Mr. Smith and you also have two pairs of handsome boys and a very beautiful daughter.

Smith: [Mother] Ha, ha, ha, you are flattering us Mrs. Li but I guess if both my son and Lindy got married then for sure they will be gifted for beautiful daughters and sons but that's in the future since for now let's eat our foods.

Li: [Mother] yeah indeed. 

Li: [Father, just keep in silence because he notices the awkward surrounding and realizes that the Smith have different gestures from the time they discuss the first time for their son and daughter betroth and signaling his wife about the awkwardness while his wife just nodded because she's also aware of it.]

Smith: [Mother] now while we are eating why we won't discuss the engagement of Lian and Lindy, right?

Lian: Mom.

Smith: [Mother] well why not Lian? And our purpose here is to discuss your engagement, well the Li's will be lucky to have you as their son-in-law since you are not only a handsome young man but also a genius one, of course, it's their luck and Lindy dear you don't need to be choosy one because you just got a full package with my son Lian here, right?
