11 Going to the party

In the morning.

When the new maid hired by Madam Jiang, Christie, saw Jiang Yue racking the closet until it was in a messy state, she was shocked. She ran towards her.

"Young miss, what are you trying to do?" She asked.

Jiang Yue was so focused on her doing that she didn't hear her maid.

"Young miss, young miss.." She called again.

Coincidentally, Jiang Yue started to turn left and saw Christie's face in front of her, she was shocked and screamed. "AHH!!!"

At the same time, when Christie heard her scream, she also screamed. "AHHH!!"

After they stopped screaming, it turned to an awkward silence.

"Uh..so why are you here?" Jiang Yue was the first one who broke the silence.

"I passed by here before and saw you making the room a whole mess. So I wanted to ask you what you were doing." Christie answered.

"Ah..sorry for bothering you. I actually was looking for some clothes to wear to the party and it'll start in an hour." Jiang Yue explained. 

"W-what?! It'll start in an hour and you still look like this now!!" Christie gasped.

"Hehe..I forgot about the party until just now." Jiang Yue said with an awkward smile.

"Y-You! How can you be so calm?" Christie asked.

Although Christie was a maid, she can sometimes be a nagging mother to Jiang Yue. Of course, she knew her boundaries as well. 

She was the kind of person who was straight-forward and maybe sometimes hurt someone else's feelings but good at heart.

"I'm panicking now too. If I don't, then why do I bother doing all this?" Jiang Yue explained again.

"Y-You..we don't have time to spare. Do you have your make-up tools and a dress to wear?" Christie asked.

"It's in the dressing room. Why?" Jiang Yue answered.

Just as she answered, Christie immediately dragged her to the dressing room. When they arrived there, Christie settled her down to sit. 

Unbeknownst to Jiang Yue, the next thing that Christie would do might greatly surprised her.

"Close your eyes." Christie demanded.

"What for?" Jiang Yue asked.

"Just shut up." Christie said.

"…"

Jiang Yue was speechless and just closed her eyes to find out what it was for.

The next 45 minutes later.

When Jiang Yue opened her eyes and looked at the mirror, what she was seeing made her speechless. She mumbled. "W-what.. is this me?" 

Then she suddenly looked ecstatic and admiration grew in her heart.

"How are you so good at make-up and fashion? You can make me turn 180 degrees. I look prettier." Jiang Yue asked curiously.

"Well, I used to take the major in those areas. Unfortunately, because of some circumstances, I was forced to quit." Christie explained sadly.

After she was done explaining, she turned back to her original personality and smile cheerfully. Of course, Jiang Yue didn't miss that sense of sadness in her eyes before.

"Go, go.. You'll be later than this if you're still wasting time." Christie made an excuse.

"Goodbye, Christie. Take care." Jiang Yue said goodbye. Then, she ran out and got on the car.

After Christie saw Jiang Yue was already gone, she walked back into the house and locked the door while sobbing. She was leaning on the door and crying.

In the Xu estate, where the party was held.

When Jiang Yue walked down the car with graceful and exquisite steps, everyone turned to look at her and were stunned, including the women. Most of the men and women were adoring her while the others were either jealous or indifferent.

Jiang Yue was a wearing a long grey gown that showed her collarbone and back. It also perfectly sized her figure making the men in the ballroom drooled. There were some crystals on the upper part of the gown which made it look more fancy and grand. A diamond necklace, bracelet and pair of earrings could be seen on her neck and wrist. Although it was shiny, it didn't look too much on her and instead complimented her.

She wore some light make-up that highlighted her features perfectly and her hair was slightly curled.

As she was walking, men and women were glancing at her secretly and people were whispering like 'Whose daughter is she?' or 'So pretty. I wish I'm as pretty as her.' Everyone's gaze were shifted to her. She noticed them but didn't say anything. 

She took a glass of wine from the waiter and drank it silently. When she was dancing, she started to feel someone's gaze staring at her intensely and chill ran down her spine.

Then, she was snapped out by someone's voice. 

"Yue, I'm glad you came today!" An Ran exclaimed and patted Jiang Yue's shoulder from the back.

Jiang Yue was shocked feeling her best friend's pat since she was out of space before.

An Ran could see that she was surprised so she apologized. "I'm sorry, Yue. I was too excited seeing you."

"It's fine. At least I didn't get a heart attack." Jiang Yue giggled.

"Hahaha..don't worry, if you get one, I'll save you. " An Ran chuckled. 

"How are you going to do that?" Jiang Yue asked while her eyes turned to crescents due to her smile.

"Hehe..don't forget that I'm taking the major in science. You know I'm aiming to be a professional doctor and save people." An Ran winked at her.

"Yes, doctor. If something happened to me, I'll immediately ask for your service." Jiang Yue said jokingly.

Then, they talked and laughed together for a bit more and An Ran bid goodbye since she needed to join her parents and welcome the guests.
