Chapter 254 - 254: A Friend Became An Enemy

Seth closed his fists when he realized that there were only few left. All the captives were gone including most of his men like a flash of whirlwind.

He prepared for this battle, but just a snap of enemies' finger, everything vanished like it was used to be.

"Goddamn it! I almost forgot that he's more than a human!" he angrily said while Daren stuck on the middle of danger.

He knew this moment would come, but he has no time to retreat and decide for himself since then.

The people around would always decide even if it was against his will.

"Three years ago, when we encountered Sebastian, I knew he's not a human."

Trembling like a weakling, Seth looked into his way and gritted his teeth. "W-what are you talking about right now? Our men were all gone and that's because of that asshole!"

Daren has been controlling the anger within him. But now, he could no longer pretend that he's weak and nothing compare to the man before his eyes.

"We provoked him that day, and if we will look into the other side, we don't have the right to be violent!"

"Why are you saying this now, huh? Why are you acting like a fucking noble man with your wisdoms?"

Seth burst into anger when he failed to control his emotions. After all this time, he's been keeping a friend who will be traitor someday.

While waiting for an answer, a howling wind blew up around that could even drag them down. He breathed heavily as he stood firm or it would be the end for him.

Until Daren turned his back on him and walked away from the man who felt like his biological brother.

"Farewell to you my friend, but I stand for humanity than your selfish revenge." he whispered and let himself fell into the ground.

However, he didn't feel the cold ground even after a couple of seconds. He must be on the ground, bathing with blood.

But when he opened his eyes, he held his breath when Sebastian appeared.

He stutteringly said, "F-forgive me, Sebastian! I… I failed to stop him from doing these things!"

"It's not yet over, Daren. We have still to stop Seth from turning into a beast or it would be difficult to control our body."

"W-what do… do y-you mean?"

Sebastian has a clear goal and putting Seth on a better cage would be a sign of triumph. He must inoculate a blood of human to bring him back.

It would be dangerous if an ignorant and selfish beast possessed a powerful ability without knowing its benefits and disadvantages.

He sighed and replied, "We need to take back the power he stole! We must bring him back… as a human!"

Daren was flabbergasted. He knew it would be a tough mission that he seemed eager to bring his best friend back to himself.

No matter what happened, they both promised that until the end, they would still be good, old friends who knew nothing aside from laughing and fooling people around.

He could still keep that promise if he convinced Seth to surrender and prevent serious damage.

"We have no time left, Daren. If he will let him escape, he will attack the city and abduct Halora!"

Daren knew what to do from the beginning and now that he was closer to the right path, he took a deep breath.

He replied, "I am surrendering him to you, Sebastian. I am counting on you but I beg you, don't kill him."

Sebastian slightly nodded his head as he quickly vanished from his sight. There was no time left as Seth started to transform.

"On the second life, I hope we will still be friends and live a happy, peaceful life." he murmured as he watched the campus bad boy from a distance.

"TRAITOR SHALL BE KILLED!"

Seth screamed loudly but no one showed fear except Daren. His knees were trembling as he didn't know what to do once he became a fatal beast.

But on the bright side, Sebastian appeared as he stood calmly in front of the enemy.

But before he could utter a word, Seth said, "Killing you now is no longer my intention. I've changed my mind the moment my ally betrayed me."

Yet, the young alpha remained silent and showed bravery more than anything during a close battle.

His cold charisma provoked the enemy as he was trying to evolve. "How dare you look at me that way? I guess there's no point of making this long, Sebastian!"

"Between us, you are nothing but a worthless bad boy compared to me!"

"Does it make sense after you succeed?" Sebastian suddenly asked a mysterious yet fundamental question.

In the middle of the wide field, Sebastian looked intently into his eyes with boldness and power. It would be a waste of time and strength if he quickly attacked the enemy.

"Let's say you killed me right at this moment, what will you do next? Living from once place to another because you possessed a monster's ability- a mankind's threat."

He gasped, "You have nowhere to hide, Seth. But if you stop from this craziness, I am willing to help you. I will teach you how to use that power veiled within you."

Through his convincing ability, Seth stopped with his delusions. His head filled with deep voices that tried to erase his memory.

He quickly hit his head, screamed so audibly like there was no tomorrow at all.

"Ugh! Ugh! What are these voices doing inside of my head?"

Slowly, the bad boy stooped closer as it was the perfect time to catch him up. If he missed it, it would be difficult to capture a slippery, yet powerful target like an eel.

Through his hands, Sebastian lifted his right arm until his men appeared with a net. They quickly captured Seth before it became a threat.

"I don't have other choice but to bring your guard down. But, without Daren's help, this mission would be completely a failure." Sebastian told him.

Seth tried to move his body but it was no used at all. He couldn't transform without a knife to cut his palm.

He cursed until he saw a man stood in front of him. "Daren…" he murmured.

"I will never forget how a friend became an enemy!"
