Chapter 140 - 140. Coincidence Or Fate

Halora burst into tears while he comforted her shattered heart and exhausted soul. She never thought that she was fooled by the man she loved, but the most painful thing was that– it happened too abruptly and unexpectedly.

"Shh I probably don't know how to comfort a broken hearted girl but I will do my best to help you ease the pain you feel right now."

"T– thank you for listening to all nonsense things about my poor life. I... I couldn't even understand why I am telling everything to you."

A loud laughter filled around the room but it turned out to be awkward. Markus became serious, stared at her face and listened to her attentively that made Halora stop talking and intimated by his deep gaze.

But she shrugged off her shoulders, looked away as she recalled every little things that stuck inside of her head.

"We are not in a romantic relationship."

"She's annoying, spoiled brat girl that I hated the most."

"I like someone else..."

"Help me nail the upcoming examination to accomplish my greatest mission."

Sebastian's voice flashed back to her memory and everything he had said to Halora. She never thought that it was all white lies because he seemed so real in front of her but on the other side, it was all a trap, and he only took her for granted.

"I... I trust you even we just met the other day, but I trusted and believed to his words like we've known each other since birth..."

"You shouldn't have trusted that womanizer in the first place! You should have known the truth and his true colors!"

Markus busted into anger as he said those words and talked back to Sebastian. He knew he was such a great enemy but this time around, because of Halora, he will never stop until he convince Halora to be his real, serious girlfriend.

He breathed deeply, caressed his temple as he stood and turned around on her but suddenly, Halora grabbed his arms and embraced him tightly that surprised him out of the blue.

His eyes widened, his pulse had stopped pounding as the latter he realized what just happened a few seconds ago.

"J– just let me hug you like this. I know this is noting to you but please, please... just let me cry on your chest, Markus."

She thought she had already cried everything that kept her heart in vain. The burden she felt slowly faded when she felt his warm, soothing touch on her back.

But Halora knew it was just a temporary treatment for her broken heart. If there was someone who would take way the weight effortlessly, it would be Sebastian who looked after his ill grandfather at their hideaway.

If only she confronted him beforehand, things would be different and there was no a deep misunderstanding between him.

"If you want to cry harder, just cry on my chest, Halora. I know it is not easy for you but I am here always to protect and stay beside you no matter what." he whispered to her ears.

And if only he could take all the sorrow she felt, he would have done that since the moment he discovered that Sebastian kept her waiting for nothing.

Secretly, he looked at the window that covered with white curtains, and smirked devilishly, "I will kill that punk mercilessly!" he muttered, closed his fists until his eyes turned darker and dangerous.

Vague, dark sky and a heavy rain welcomed the students the next day. Most of the students brought thick raincoats and umbrellas as they were all afraid of getting wet.

It was not the ideal day for all of the students and teachers who needed to be in the school before the start of the classes.

And they quickly went into the hallway as it has a roof and walked to their perspective rooms. All of them stayed and waited for their teachers while the rain became too heavy that almost caused a flash flood to the nearby cities.

"Good day! Am I late?" said Halora who just arrived at the main entrance as she brought a black umbrella with her. "Oh! I forgot to swipe my ID!"

Quickly, she took it from the pocket of her bag while the head of the school guards waited for her with a smile on his face.

Despite the gloomy and not so good weather, people who talked to Halora always ended up smiling without any valid reason.

She seemed like a clown who would always made someone laugh through simple, ordinary actions.

"Alright, get inside before you bath in rain, Young Lady! And to tell you honestly, you are two minutes early."

"Ahh I see. I am going now, and have a nice day despite the sad sky." she replied as if she referred to herself as the 'sad sky' that cried uncontrollably last night.

She walked into the hallway when she felt a heavy feeling. She stopped, held the umbrella tightly as she murmured, "Take a deep breath, Halora. Inhale. Exhale..."

She was standing in the middle of the hallway, closed her eyes as she tried to forget the things that had took place yesterday.

The unbearable feeling that she buried deeply into her soul came back the moment she opened her eyes, and saw the man who was the reason behind of her heartbreak.

He smiled at her, standing from a distance with a white umbrella that protected him from the rain.

"Halora...," he uttered her name as she missed her so badly but he was hesitant to tell her the truth. "Do you think it is still a coincidence or a destiny?"

She stood still at the moment. Her body turned weak as his voice electrified her system that nearly poisoned her mind.

But, because of what he did, she decided to be the old Halora who doesn't ever care about other people. She would be still his tutor but she promised herself that she will never crossed the line all over again.

She gasped, took stepped back when Sebastian walked nearer to her and before he fooled her once again, Halora smiled mischievously at him.

"Don't worry, as is it only a coincidence that happens to all of us sometimes." she told him without any hint of fear and pain.
