Chapter 133 - 133: Back To School I

Early in the morning, thirty minutes before the start of the classes, Halora walked alone at the campus garden with sandwich and a bottle of cold water as she went back to school.

Until now, she was thinking about Sebastian, and the urgent, serious matter that took place the other night. She rambled on the wide, peaceful garden as she ate it as she wondered of so many things.

"Huh, I hope nothing bad happened to anyone of his family." she hoped, whispered to the howling wind and a soothing sensation brought by the calm, sunny day.

She sighed out of weariness, looked for an empty bench, luckily, there was a vacant place for her that was found only few steps away from her.

As confused and curious as she was, she opened the bottle of water, drank half of it and gasped for a second. "Should I call him?" she thought.

After a week, Halora found her cellular phone inside of her room. The moment she checked upon it last night, she saw a lot of missed calls, text messages from him and Roy.

Halora quickly took it from her bag with both excitement and uneasiness on her face. She didn't know what was happening but she dialed his number.

Her knees trembled when she heard it ringing, she couldn't find the exact words to say but, he didn't pick up the phone.

"Maybe he's doing something important!" she shrugged off her shoulders and put back the phone into her black backpack.

Disappointingly, she ate the sandwich silently that took away the stress that almost devoured her fate and sanity. She looked at the trees without leaves and still, there was a beauty on it.

And she realized that there were a lot of couples who stayed at the garden before their classes. She sighed, looked down at her feet as she wished for a someone who will be her girl best friend.

She has been wishing for a kind, humble girl who would accept her flaws and weaknesses, a friend that stay no matter what.

"H– Halora? Is that you?" spoke someone from behind.

She slowly lifted her head, glanced at the girl who stood in front of her with a wide smile on her lips.

She said, "Zenith? W– what brought you h– here?"

"I was walking around until I saw you here. But, tell me why are you here too? There must be a reason why you came here at this hour."

Zenith knew what happened to Lord Solomon last night. All of them was summoned by Stevenson according to the old man's will.

She sighed, looked away from Halora's eyes when she felt like she would be interrogated by her.

"N– nothing! I just want to unwind before classes." she lied to her.

But behind the sweet smile on her lips, she wanted to ask Zenith the truth that bothered and frightened Sebastian to death. She could still remember his eyes that was filled with sadness and despair.

"Oh! I have to go by now, Zenith. I forgot to get a book from the library!" It was her alibi, but the truth was– she couldn't afford to remain calm in front of anyone because of the things that bothered her.

Zenith was about to tell her about it but Halora seemed to be in a hurry. She has classes as well and she thought for another plan.

She smiled bitterly, bowed her head and she said, "See you around, Halora I have to go as well."

"See you around." said Halora who were mentally absent.

Mr. Yang was explaining about the rules of grund and it uses. He taught them without referring to a book as he mastered the topic through all these years.

He gave examples to the students until they comprehended how to use it in a sentence.

"At this point, before I dismiss all of you, I want two volunteers who will write a sentence using gerund."

A long silence filled around the entire room as no one wanted to volunteer. Roy who stared at Mr. Yang, poked Halora's shoulder when he noticed that she was being caught by their English Teacher.

He gritted his teeth, poked her shoulders countless times while Mr. Yang walked into her way.

"Halora! Halora! You should stop doing that and pay attention to Mr. Yang!"

Yet, she didn't move nor answer to him. Until Mr. Yang stopped in front of Halora who was sleeping peacefully on her desk.

He sighed, looked at the paper on the armchair and saw ten examples of a sentence using gerund.

"Hmm, she's quiet intelligent but I want to know if she wrote it by herself." Mr. Yang took the paper while the whole class looked into Halora's way.

All of them chuckled secretly as they thought she was doomed and didn't know the answer.

"Alright Ms. Chui, since you are one of the consistent scholars in the whole campus, why don't you give us ten sentences using gerund."

Sandra's group of friends laughed loudly at her and thought that it was her karma after everything she have done to their best friend.

"And now you're doomed, little insect!" Gary said with a smirk on her lips.

However, Halora didn't hear what the teacher said earlier. She was just awakened when Roy pinched her nape secretly.

She yawned, closed her eyes for seconds until the next thing that happened was unbelievable.

"Since you are sleeping during my class, as your punishment, give me 15 sentences instead of 10!"

"A– are you talking to me, by any chance, Sir?"

Roy covered his face when he saw how Mr. Yang transformed into a dangerous man. His ears turned red, and he was ready to blow a fire at her.

Mr. Yang said, "You have five minutes to complete the task, if not, then you will fail in my subject!" And he walked back to his desk while waiting for Halora's answer.

It shocked the entire class especially Roy who pushed her chair that brought her back to her senses. She sighed, rubbed her nape, walked closer to the whiteboard and took the black marker before she started writing.

She rubbed her eyes for a second and wrote fifteen sentences in five minutes that surprised everyone and Mr. Yang.

"I'm sorry for sleeping during your class, I just fell asleep because I mastered the topic while you're teaching." she said with a mischievous smile on her lips, walked straight to her seat and gave Roy a calm gaze and wink.
