Chapter 109 - 109: I Dare You

Under the black umbrella, two vulnerable teenagers stayed closer to each other. The young man, who protected her from the rain and coldness smiled secretly as he smelled the addicting scent of her wet hair.

He gulped, listened to the sound of his heartbeat that would automatically changed whenever she's near. "A beautiful scenery." He thought.

In a hollow voice, Sebastian looked at the sky as he said, "Halora?"

"Hmm?"

"Have you ever heard about the legends of the beasts who lived thousands of years ago?"

The sweet smile on his face slowly vanished when he got surprised of Halora's sudden reaction. She then narrowed her eyes, looked intently into his blue eyes as if she was recalling someone familiar with her.

"W– werewolves?" She asked. Blinked her eyes twice as she was hypnotized by his deep, serious stare. "Do you mean w– werewolves who truly exists in the modern world?"

He chuckled bitterly and he replied, "Y– yes! I mean, yes! The werewolves, the beasts or most of the people called them monster and so on!"

A long silence, loud noises came from the forests surrounded the entire place. But Halora remembered something that was told by her late grandmother. The witches, the wizards, cruel vampires and werewolves who once existed in the same place.

"Y– yes! And if I'm not mistaken, werewolves are still living in this world. I don't know but sometimes I can feel a person's energy through looking at their eyes."

Her body was embraced with warmth that came from Sebastian's hand and jacket. She was more comfortable than earlier and her spirit was awakened by his interesting questions.

He smiled genuinely, preparing himself to ask more questions about it and waited for her reaction once he confessed to her.

"What will you do if you meet someone who's one of them? Are you going to call the police and kill the beast or you'll do the other way around?"

"Of course, I will! Because–"

"Damn it! I knew it! I knew it since then!"

Halora narrowed her eyes when she heard him cursing silently. She poked him, pouted her lips and she said, "I am not yet done. I mean, of course I will not going to do such cruelty to him if his a man! I would rather have a werewolf friend so that no one could ever bully me at the campus."

She then began to imagine things like her werewolf friend saved her from the group of bullies. They then hurriedly ran for their lives away from her and never bothered her anymore.

"Huh, I wish I'll meet a good beast friend." She yawned, sounded like a sleepy sheep. "Would you help me to find one?"

Little did she knew, she had met an alpha at the first day of class. She didn't knew that she was destined to be as special as ever to Sebastian's life.

"At last, it won't be difficult to reveal my real identity when the right time comes." He whispered to the howling, cold wind until he felt her head leaned over to his shoulder.

He scoffed, closed his eyes for a second and he tapped her face. "Hey! It's too early to sleep, Halora!"

Halora loudly snored instead of waking up. She looked tired, needed some rest as her body was bathed in rain before he arrived.

At that moment, Sebastian took a deep, heavy breath while he smiled widely as it reached on his ears.

And his heart filled with joy but he hid it, denied it but the truth will be prevailed on the perfect time.

Bright, sunny day waked her as it rays touched on her skin. Halora looked throughout the entire place and realized that the rain has finally stopped yet the ground was still wet and myvered with thick mud.

She sighed, opened her mouth and eyes widely as she stayed at his chest the entire night. Her face turned scarlet, her stomach filled with butterflies while she stared at his calm, almost perfect face.

"S– Sebastian? Hey, Sabastian!"

She poked, waked him up yet nothing happened. He was leaning towards the log behind him, holding the umbrella tightly enough that protected her from the rain.

Out of guilt, she let him sleep and waited until he opened his eyes. Out of boredom, she checked her injured ankle for the hope that she could finally walk again and never disturbed anyone of the boys.

"Please, let it heal. Let me walk again like nothing happened to me last night." She prayed, attracted to the power of positivity as she slowly untied the long strip on her right foot.

She breathed heavily after she successfully untied it. Halora searched for a strong, long branch of the tree as it would her cane.

"Alright, I need to stand now. I hope this branch will not break into halves."

Right then, she touched the log behind her, used the branch to help her with balancing her body first. She scowled, bit her lower lip as she found it difficult to have only one foot.

"Come on, Halora! You can do it! You can try harder and walk back to the camp safe and sound!"

As she tried her best to stand straight and walk confidently, at the end, Halora felt that the pain was gone and she could walk properly now.

To her excitement, she jumped, screamed at the top of her lungs and ran back to Sebastian who was still asleep.

"Sebastian!"

"Look at me! Look at my foot!"

She was smiling the whole time, poking his shoulder until he yawned, opened his eyes suddenly.

"Good morning, sunshine! It's time to wake up now." Halora moved her face closer to him as she greeted a bright, sunny morning.

It surprised him to death, smelling her fresh breath and fragrant hair awakened the strong yet strange feeling that was buried deep within his body and soul.

"Come closer and I will sealed you with a passionate kiss," he said. "I dare you." He smirked and smiled mischievously as his arrogance flaunted on his face.

But Halora quickly turned around, stood slowly as she said, "Let's go back to the camp now."

She looked embarrassed and nervous while Sebastian laughed at her genuinely.
