Chapter 28 - Are You Really Not Going to Find Another Father for Wanwan?

Chapter 28 Are You Really Not Going to Find Another Father for Wanwan?

Today, the drawing class from 9:00 am to 11:00 am was for children between the ages of seven and twelve. They were much easier to take care of than the younger children on Saturdays. Xu Zixuan had arranged a drawing class for twelve children.

Song Ruyi did not have time to bake cookies by herself, so she went to the cake shop and bought twelve bottles of cookies.

The two hours passed very quickly.

When it was over, Xu Zixuan invited Song Ruyi to have lunch together.

Song Ruyi refused. Wanwan was still in the hospital, waiting for her report. She had to rush to the hospital immediately.

When Xu Zixuan heard that Song Wanwan was in the hospital, she said that she would follow her to the hospital to see the little one no matter what.

Song Ruyi could not decline politely, so she brought her along.

At this moment, Song Wanwan was happily playing with toys in Chen Jing’s staff dormitory. Chen Jing had gone to their department to get the blood test report for today, and there were no more problems.

Song Ruyi went to the pharmacy to get medicine for Wanwan for two days before returning home.

As Song Wanwan was sick, the Zhao family canceled their visit to the grave this week and changed it to next weekend instead.

Zhao Yufeng, Song Ruyi’s aunt, knew that the little girl was greedy and ended up being hospitalized, so she came to see her.

Her daughter-in-law had been married to her son for three years but wanted to make a mark in her career, so she still refused to have a child. At the moment, Song Wanwan was the only child in the Zhao family, so she was naturally doted on.

Song Wanwan was sick, and it was the weekend. Song Ruyi’s big uncle and little uncle were both here. When Song Ruyi returned home, everyone in the Zhao family was waiting for her. An Hongming had made a reservation for lunch outside. Although they did not visit the graves today, there was no need to cancel the lunch.

Xu Zixuan bought Song Wanwan a new toy. Song Ruyi did not want it, but Zixuan insisted on buying it anyway. She said it was for Ruyi’s little baby, not for her.

Song Wanwan was very happy with the gift. She hugged Xu Zixuan and kissed her again and again. She even thanked her two or three times.

Xu Zixuan smiled. The Zhao family invited her to dinner, but Xu Zixuan refused. It was not easy for an outsider like her to attend a family dinner.

Song Ruyi did not force her. She held Song Wanwan’s hand and sent Xu Zixuan out.

After that, the Zhao family came out of Chen Jing’s dormitory and walked toward the restaurant that An Hongming had booked.

“Big Sister, I heard that Brother-in-law recently got to know another big boss. It’s said that the boss has a big project in our city.” Zhao Jiaming was a civil servant. He had delayed his retirement. He could have retired in another five years, but he had to delay it for an additional two years.

He would still hear a little about real estate projects in the circle.

An Hongming was an independent businessman, so whether he wanted to do business or not depended on his own wishes. Anyway, the old couple did not have a grandchild to take care of. An Hongming always thought that his health was okay. If he could do more, he would do more. He would help his son and daughter-in-law save more money. “I don’t know. I don’t care about your brother-in-law’s business.” Zhao Yufeng said. She was a teacher. Due to her health, she had retired on her own for a few years.

Once she reached the age, she would go through the retirement procedures and officially retire.

The two elders of the Zhao family had passed away many years ago. Zhao Yufeng was the eldest, and after their parents were gone, she took on the responsibility of taking care of her younger brothers and sisters. When she was young, she worked very hard, and her body had fallen ill. After her younger brothers and sisters achieved success… They naturally treated her as an elder and were filial to her. Zhao Jiaming was the second child, the third was Song Ruyi’s mother, Zhao Yuzhi, the fourth was Song Ruyi’s aunt, Zhao Yurong, and the fifth was Song Ruyi’s uncle, Zhao Jiayuan.

The five siblings were very close. The Zhao family had a very harmonious family dynamic.

If anyone had anything to be handled, the others would rush over immediately.

“Oh right, you’re going to be a grandfather. Why didn’t you follow your wife to take care of your child?” Zhao Yufeng asked Zhao Jiaming in return. When the siblings were together, they talked about their family matters.

Zhao Jiaming and his wife had only one daughter. As they were civil servants, it was a family planning policy at that time. The couple was encouraged to have only one child.

He had always regretted not having a son. Even so, he doted on his daughter, Zhao Weiyi. When she was born, Zhao Jiaming named her Weiyi, which was enough to show her value in Zhao Jiaming’s heart.

During Zhao Weiyi’s growth, her parents gave her whatever she wanted. When Zhao Weiyi got married far away, Zhao Jiaming and his wife were very sad, but their daughter liked the man very much, so they let her be.

Now that Zhao Weiyi was about to have a child, Zhao Jiaming’s wife went over early to accompany her.

Zhao Yufeng was opposed to long-distance marriage. If the child was far away, the old ones would be very lonely at home.

Despite that, since Zhao Jiaming and his wife did not say anything, it was not appropriate for Zhao Yufeng to lecture her insensible niece.

“It’s not convenient for me as a man. After all, my daughter has grown up. My wife is capable, and my daughter’s mother-in-law is also there. It shouldn’t be a problem,” Zhao Jiaming said.

On the way to the restaurant, Song Wanwan was held in her little uncle’s arms.

Song Ruyi’s uncle, Zhao Jiayuan, got married late. After marrying Song Ruyi’s aunt, the couple decided not to have kids. They kept a pet dog at home and did not have children.

Now that more than ten years had passed, Zhao Jiayuan had taken a liking for children again. That said, his wife had aged, and her body could not take it anymore. Naturally, she could not have children now.

She ate a lot of soup and medicine, but it was still unwise for her to carry a child.

As such, Zhao Jiayuan spoiled Wanwan terribly.

Therefore, even though Song Wanwan did not have a father, she did not feel sad at all. That was because there were too many people who spoiled and loved her.

Chen Jing and Song Ruyi walked behind arm in arm. As they were of similar age, they grew up together and went to school together. Every time they were together, there was an endless amount to talk about.

The two sisters’ experiences were very different. Compared to Song Ruyi, Chen Jing was much happier. Song Ruyi had experienced more hardship.

Hence, Chen Jing was not exactly sensible and was still like a little girl. On the other hand, Song Ruyi was already a mother and had taken care of her and her daughter’s wellbeing.

It was then when Song Ruyi remembered that Lu Jingnan had said that he was going to visit Wanwan at the hospital today. Nevertheless, she had not received his call yet.

She had been considering whether or not to send Lu Jingnan a message saying that Wanwan had been discharged from the hospital. He did not need to come to the hospital anymore.

Nonetheless, she was also thinking that Lu Jingnan was a busy person, to begin with. How could he have so much time to waste on the two of them? The reason he was like that before was probably that something was wrong with him.

Chen Jing put away her phone and stopped browsing. She looked at Song Wanwan in front of her and asked Song Ruyi seriously, “Sis, are you really not going to find another father for Wanwan?”

After growing up, Chen Jing had always felt that her second aunt, Zhao Yuzhi, had led a hard life raising Song Ruyi. It was a tough life, and they all felt sorry for her.

Chen Jing did not expect Song Ruyi to choose to be an unmarried mother after she graduated from university. Song Ruyi had really raised her child alone all these years.

She was very worried that Song Ruyi would choose to live the same life as her mother.

It was too hard and not worth it.
