Xia Yangyang was stumped for a second before she blushed red.

She really couldn’t bring herself to call him hubby.

Despite being officially married, Xia Yangyang felt that their relationship had developed due to some bizarre occurrence. And up till today, she still couldn’t comprehend what had happened.

Xia Yangyang muttered something inaudible under her breath.

Gu Qichen surveyed Xia Yangyang and knew that she was being shy. So he asked, “What favor?”

She heaved a huge sigh of relief and hurriedly expounded, “Our school broadcast club is doing our first interview with an influential figure. So I would like to invite you to be our guest.”

There wasn’t any change in Gu Qichen’s expression. Quietly, he replied, “I have never accepted interviews before.”

Xia Yangyang was certainly well aware of that. Deep down, she actually didn’t harbor much hope.

Yet, Gu Qichen had spoken again seconds later. “I’ll check if I can spare some time tomorrow.”

That left Xia Yangyang shocked beyond words.

Gu Qichen had agreed?

But she still knew better than to take his word seriously. She was aware of how hectic Gu Qichen’s schedule was.

The following day, Xia Yangyang attended her morning class.

After class, her club president, Xu Li called for a meeting.

Xia Yangyang had just reached the stairs when she saw a horde of people crowding around Guan Xuer.

Everyone seemed to be idolizing her.

·

“Xuer, you’re too amazing! How did you manage to invite Gu Qichen? Our club will finally emerge victorious as the top club on campus!”

“Xuer, be frank. Who is your family? How could the mighty and elusive President Gu agree to your request? Do you know him personally?

“Xuer, yesterday you attended Old Master Gu’s birthday celebration. Tell us more about the event!

Guan Xuer looked exceedingly pleased and smug. The scene looked as though the stars had grouped around the moon. She caught a glimpse of Xia Yangyang, and her expression froze.

Xu Li had walked to the center of the room and she tapped the table. “Silence! Let’s start the meeting.”

Everyone scrambled to find a seat.

Xu Li announced, “This morning, a secretary from Flourishing Origin Corporation has contacted our club. She said that President Gu has agreed to our club interview. At 3:00 p.m. this afternoon, he will be available for half an hour. This interview is of paramount importance to our club. I’m as excited as each of you here and of course, the credit goes to our vice president, Guan Xuer.”

A round of enthusiastic applause led by Xu Li echoed in the room, as everyone congratulated Guan Xuer.

Xia Yangyang was dumbfounded. Why did the credit go to Guan Xuer?

Xu Li continued, “Since Xuer has snagged such a rare opportunity for us, we have to cherish it. I’ve prepared the interview script and Xuer will be in charge of the interview. I believe that she will be up to the task.”

Everyone was envious that Guan Xuer would be able to interview Gu Qichen. That was practically the dream of every reporter.

Xu Li passed the script to Guan Xuer before she approached Xia Yangyang. She said, “Yangyang, continue to assist Xuer. Xuer mentioned that you have helped her too. Good job.”

Xia Yangyang replied, “I’m quitting this interview. President, please look for someone else.”

She was the first to exit the room when the meeting ended.

Guan Xuer’s meek and aggrieved voice rang. “She is a rich lady. I can’t expect her to assist me by carrying the equipment. Besides, I know that Yangyang has always wanted to interview President Gu.”

The others consoled her. “You have fought hard for this chance, so this glory belongs to you. Nobody should be able to reap without sowing anything…”
