A pain shot through my head as my vision filled with tiny particles of light that swam in unidentifiable ways. I grabbed my head and started pulling my hair, I don't care if I'm in public, this is too much to handle!

After the flurry of light slowed down I noticed something which seemed to be almost floating in my view. If I were to look away from it I would not notice it at all, but when I actively search for it I can see a rounded bronze colored button. Kind of like one of those fancy buttons you would find on a nice button-up.

The hell is this thing? I've heard of glaucoma, but, does it come with the brain shattering headache? And why would it go away when I look at it?

As I was thinking I reached out to see if covering that part of my vision would let me see it better if it had a black backdrop of color. Just as I did when my hand reached inside the boundaries of the button; it expanded at a speed faster than I could blink.

"What in the Hell!" I screamed

I immediately regretted it as I hate drawing attention to myself, I do look like a mental homeless freakshow then.

Wait how could I see those people with this thing in front of me? The button had expanded to cover my entire vision as if it were a bronze-colored tab opened on a computer. Except I could see right through the other side of it, as well as being able to see it.

If I were to describe it, it is akin to putting a piece of paper between your eyes so they cant see the same thing. If you were to focus on something with the left eye rather than the right eye you would still "see" it. Even if the right eye cannot see it, your brain still processes the information as if you could.

However, in reality, only your left eye is looking at that object, and if you were to close it you would only see the blank paper.

The window that popped up seemed to inhabit itself in my dominant right eye. And I could see that there were many things written on it.

It neatly laid out the information in the easiest to read font and size as if apologizing for the brain aneurysm.

This… This isn't this an RPG menu?

Nevermind that there's a literal RPG Status menu in my right eye, it even says that my strength is equal to my intelligence? I always liked to train other people, however, I never had the talents required for it.

I'll mess around with it later, I'm in the middle of who-knows where with this thing in my eye. Maybe it's normal around here? I'm lacking too much information.

My first step should be to get somewhere I know I am safe and can relax. Where could I find a hotel I wonder?

But first, how do I move this thing out of my eye? I'm guessing I should just look down into the corner the button was at.

Just as my eyes moved to the corner of my vision the panel shut itself down in a neat little animation of packing itself into the button. Neat!

My now unobscured eyes scanned for anything that looked like a hotel. As I looked closer I could see that I could read what was posted on the signs above some places, and some of these are pretty strange.

"Treasure Pavilion", "Medicine Hall", "Radiant Sun Barracks"

I've read some wuxia and other types of novels before and this blew my mind immediately. There was no one gaping with their mouth open or taking pictures so this was definitely a common sight. Was I transported to this place right before I died?
