17 Assault Begin

Well, they left the cockpit closed, and the fumes keep them warm during the winter. Still, they were sleeping loudly. Meanwhile, the mechanics were busy fitting the missile and bomb into the plane. The jet was equipped with two GBU-28 bunker-buster and two AGM-84 missiles. Overall, he got the heavy artillery to destroy anything that the flight squadron from the CSG can't kill.

"Morning Dima," Lance said as he turned on the engine of the F-15.

He switched a few dials and knobs; thus, the jet engine started and producing a sound that had more than a hundred decibels. The best alarm clock you can ever have. The roar of the Pratt \u0026 Whitney F100 jet engines echoed on the hangar.

"Is it morning yet?" Dima said as the skies were still dark.

"Wake up old-timer, the morning came a bit late in winter," Lance said as the mechanic gave him an ok sign. Lance checked the flaps, aileron, etc. while Dima asked the mechanic for something.

"Could you bring us a breakfast bar?" He said to one of the young mechanics.

The mechanic brought out four breakfast bar from his pocket and gave it to Dima. He closed the cockpit and adjusted the climate control of the jet. The jet came to a pleasant cold temperature, which was an ideal temperature.

They got on the runway then they asked for authorization from the air traffic controller, which wasn't that necessary since the skies were clear from traffic today.

Lance: "This is Eagle 2, requesting take off and refueling at sector six bravo."

ATC: "Copy that Eagle 2, the skies are clear."

Lance: "Roger that."

Lance pushed his throttle forward and turned on the afterburner of the jet, and the jet took off shortly and leaving that island once again.

Once he got to the cruising altitude, he turned off the afterburner of the Jets and cruise at a cruising speed of 1000km/h.

Lance: "Damn, I miss the liquid engines."

Dima: "(Munching sound) Liquid what?"

Lance: "Liquid engines, the one that used the heat from a nuclear reactor to heat up the engines instead of fuel combustion."

Dima: "What's so special about those engines?"

Lance: "The usage of afterburners in an indefinite amount of times. It was implemented when I was 30."

Dima: "Gee, I know how the afterburner is very important, but I never heard it used for cruising."

They continued their journey for 1,8 hours until they stumbled upon the F-15s squadron, E-3 Sentry AWACS, and a KC-135 tanker. They initiated the refueling and had a conversation with the other pilot and the female boom operator of the tanker.

Tanker: "Sir, what are your WSO eating back there?"

Tanker: "You haven't taken breakfast, sir?"

Lance: "Not yet, could you give me the snack bar, general?"

Dima handed one bar to him, and Lance opened the packaging and ate it.

Lance: "Now, I have my breakfast."

Tanker: "And what are you usually drink on breakfast, sir?."

Lance: "Water, mineral water."

Tanker: "Weird, usually people drinks coffee, especially the black one during breakfast. I drink black coffee too."

Lance: "Well, the person aboard this jet drink clear water for their breakfast, but the person behind me is way weirder than me."

Tanker: "Really, what does the sir behind you drink?"

Dima: "Water, Russian tap water."

Tanker: "Does he mean pure water coming from behind the tap itself?"

Lance: "Nope, Vodka."

Tanker: "Why don't you drink something more colorful, sir? like tea."

Lance\u0026Dima: "We are not British."

They finished the refueling and joined with the other F-15. Some of them were F-15C, and the others were F-15E. Lance was the leader of the F-15E.

Eagle 1: "Good morning, general, I will be the leader of the air superiority fighter, and you will be the leader for the ground strike fighter. The odd number is the F-15C, and the even are the F-15E."

Lance: "Copy that, mission objective?."

Eagle 1: "Provide air support for the ground troops below and destroy any high-value target. It will be marked on your HUD as TGT."

Lance: "Wilco."

AWACS: "This is AWACS Heavycloud, nice to be flying with you, general."

Lance was flying to the town, and he asked Dima, "What's the plan?"

"Shock and awe is the plan. We don't need a strategy for now. The cruisers will be in the front followed by the destroyer and launched their missile to the ground targets, and we the fighters are there to secure air superiority and provide support for the troops," Dima said as the squadron flew over the CSG which were sailing closer to the port.

"What a beautiful view, the calm before the storm," Lance said as he buzzes the tower of the CVN-78.

He flew to the port and had already seen multiple first-rate battleships were stationed there, but he had no fear since he was flying high above the skies. The battleships could serve a good target practice for his AGM-84 'Harpoon" missile.

"0859," Dima said as he read the clock and checked the LANTIRN instrument to launch the A-G missile.

Lance: "Eagle 2, Harpoon missile fired."

The AGM-84 harpoon was fired from Lance's F-15E strike eagle. The 750 kg missile that was fired from the jet sunk the battleship with a big and magnificent explosion. The barricade had a hole in it afterward, and the barricade became ineffective.

The admiral of the CSG announced the start of the operation via an open channel, "Ladies and Gentlemen, let the assault begins." Multiple "Tomahawk" LAM was launched from the destroyer.
