Name:Miss Sales Manager Author:Aishwaryav
Tina is a Pharmacy graduate hailing from an upper middle class family. She was a model student with top marks. Everyone of her teachers thought that she would be a wonderful research fellow. But she pursued a sales career with an interest to do her MBA. It was shocking for everyone, but that is what she wanted. Sales turned out to be a lucrative career. As she was earning better than her classmates and got to take travel trips around the world. Her social media account was always filled with pictures of scenic places, and airport checkins. She was always on the run and looked smart in her business wear. She aimed on to become a CEO and understood that only hard work would help her. She was always on the move. She kept running.. Eventually she lost touch with her friends, cousins and relatives.. Two years into sales, she was successful,.. Everyone understood her potential, she never lost focus and ensured that people didnot forget her. Since she understood the saying in sales that, ' out of sight - out of mind' very well. She worked hard, strived to do everything in a good way. She continued for one more year in the same company. However in a male dominated sales field, preference was always given to men.. Even her boss told her that she would eventually get married and end up having kids which will lead to taking a break in a career. Sooner or later this was bound to happen according to him.

She endured his comments, but they hurt her. She made a vow that she would not take a break in her career whatsoever. She did not want to get married.. There were people who chased her with proposals but she gently rejected them. She didn't let anyone come near her physically or emotionally. Her guard was always up and people who tried to get close always failed. She was guarded always. She wanted to be a model sales person. She wanted to badly prove that she was someone who couldn't be treated lesser than her male counterparts. This stubborn nature made people think that she was egoistic. She was not egoistic, but she did not care to correct them. All this solid exterior hid a soft interior which was emotional and sensitive. Yet no one was lucky enough to witness that side. Eventually she got a good offer from another organisation and she joined them leaving this pathetic male chauvinistic boss and his old school thoughts.
