Chapter 136 Liam, The Boxing Champion

Peter's slaps were painful. The pain stung and hummed on his cheek, leaving him dizzy and near numbness.

In all honesty, he wanted to beg for Peter's mercy. He wanted the pain to stop. But he couldn't dare to surrender, because Diego and other men were watching him. He was helpless. Deep inside, he wished that the torture would end soon.

"Stop!" Diego called. His eyes lit with rage.

Peter grinned at seeing the underground king flustered. "So much for a Golden City King. You can't stop me."

Peter laughed and slapped the poor man another time.

The man's cheek was red from bleeding. When Peter let go of his hair, the man laid flat on the floor and passed out.

"Excellent! Good for you!" Diego shouted. "You arrogant son of a bitch. You're dead! You hear me? You're not leaving this place alive!"

"Yeah, sure I am!" Peter laughed, before flipping Diego off. "Practice what you preach, man. So far, I haven't been impressed. A lot of people have tried to kill me over the years, but look where I am now.

You think this is brutal? You think this is evil? You don't know what I've been through. You wanna know why I haven't kicked your ass yet? Your tired, old ass wouldn't be able to handle me,"

Peter smirked and cocked his eyebrow, waiting for an angry retort.

Peter was good at dealing with men like Diego. The best way to discard men like him was through fear and intimidation.

This was why Peter chose to beat up his men first, to instill fear.

Then, he'd intimidate Diego to bring out his reckless and tactless behavior, to defeat him easier.

"Liam!" Diego shoute

Drugged one night by her ex-boyfriend, a mysterious man took advantage of her in an ecstatic night filled with sex.

To take her revenge, she married the man, and used him.

"As long as I'm alive, I'm still his legal wife, while all of you are just his mistresses."

She remained adamant even when he was involved in scandals with other women.

Eventually she stormed off after she learned that he had betrayed her again. But life brought her back to him a few years later, to his astonishment.

s was humiliating.

"Sorry, Diego. I just know I'm not a match for him!" Liam replied guiltily, head down as he turned to Diego. "Don't worry, I'll return your payment and I'll leave Golden City tomorrow."

"You're leaving Golden City?" Diego laughed coldly. "You think I'll let you leave? I'd kill you before you step out of the city, and I'd kill your sister, too! How dare you defy me!"

Diego exclaimed, inconceivably irate.

"You're just threatening me, aren't you?" Liam retorted, feeling the panic raise within his chest. "You promised, Diego."

"I promised?" Diego laughed. "That promise means nothing. And that will continue to mean nothing, especially with your defiance," Diego said, cackling at the sheer audacity that Liam had displayed.

"I'll tell you what, Liam. Kill Peter, or I'll kill your sister."

Liam's eyes grew cold as he glared at Diego. He was restricting himself from running down to Diego to strangle the damn bastard.

He didn't expect Diego would become so shameless! He used to be very nice and respectful to Liam before!
