131 The Truth 2

"What did you just say?" Kyler could not believe what he heard first so he asked again.

"Father's family is still alive and well in Korea. They had changed identities and faked their deaths just to make sure you will be accepted and spared of the impending disaster. They took that risk just to make sure that those who seek you will not implicate father... and from time to time, mother and father would visit them there... Just recently they haven't been able to because father is sick.." Lyndon said in one breath.

Kyler looked at him with evident disbelief in his eyes and could not utter any word. He suddenly felt that he's so petty of making plans of his revenge on his younger brother yet he didn't know anything at all!

His silence indicated that he did not know anything at all in Lyndon's understanding so he continued to say.

"We did not know that Lance King would undergo you in a plastic surgery. I only thought that he would change your name to another but I never imagined that he would be so vicious to change your appearance." He looked at Kyler with a complicated emotion. He could not say the words he really wanted to say to him.

For the second time of his life, he was at loss for words.

Kyler didn't get any better.

Rodora seemed to fade in the background but the light and muffled sobs escaped from her which made the two men turn their attention towards her.

They both looked at their mother with pity on their eyes.

"Mother..." they simultaneously called out with tenderness and helplessness.

Rodora did not speak up but instead, she hugged them both in her small arms. Which the two men caught them off-guard.

"I'm so sorry my sons... *hicks* I'm so sorry... It's Mom's fault... It's all my fault..." she weakly utteredin between with her sobbing and hiccupping.

Lyndon's eyes began to sting but he stubbornly held his tears as he could not reveal that he's pained when he saw his own mother's self blame.

He could only shook his head and reciprocate the hug to his mother.

Kyler's eyes became red but the tears instantly fell on his cheeks without any warning. It was like all his grievances were pulled out in the open and expressed through his tears.

He could not stop it. The longing of mother's love all this years, the pain he had gone through, the betrayal he felt from his own brother and the naivety of his younger self, came all out as he drowned himself with his own tears.

He was so wrong.

It was all for him and for him to survive and be alive. He was a narrow-minded youth and even now as a man.

How could he love Carmi with his broken self?

And he was glad that he came.

The truth came to light.

After a long time, Rodora calmed her senses down and started to dry he tears with the tissue. Lyndon and Kyler remained silent beside her. They could not find any word to say to their pained mother.

The two looked at each other briefly but said no words. It was like they had ceased the long disagreement between them in silence and the strong connection of their blood ties still prevailed at the end.

Though they were not that close, they were still brothers and even though they did not share the same look on their faces, they still came from the same womb.

Kyler and Lyndon smiled with each other but they could not be more intimate than that so, Kyler stood up and had the intention to leave first.

"I'll get going... I have some matters to attend to. It's nice meeting you again mom.. brother... I have to think things over for a couple of days.. Goodbye.."

He directly walked towards the wooden door and pushed it before the door completely shut behind him, he once looked at his brother with mixed emotions.

It was also the time that Lyndon coincedentally made an eye contact with his brother which rendered him more speechless. It made him smile instead and nod in the head.

Kyler that night did not know how foolish he was when he sought revenge on his own family. He even thougt of killing his own sick father.

He wandered aimlessly on the road and eventually found himself at Carmi's doorstep.
