63 Blankness 2

Immediately pulling away, Liz turned around and tried to hide the deep shade of red that now dominated her face.

'Way to go, Liz! SO PROFESSIONAL!'

As this mocking voice sounded in her head, the blush on her face only became deeper as she quickly scurried away to the ladies room in front of her.

Just before she entered the door, she glanced behind surreptitiously, noticing that the CEO had frozen in place and had a confounded expression on her face.

Liz's emotions were all high-strung due to the experience, so she actually felt like laughing when she saw his face.

Was this really the man who had negotiated all day with the people from Sylvex who had all gone through blood and gore to get to their position?

Right now, he just looked like a normal man who had had his first embrace.

And that too, a very sudden one.

After entering the washroom and looking at herself in the mirror, the urge to laugh went away and was once again replaced by panic.

She. Had. Just. Hugged. Her. Boss.

It wasn't even a casual hug where the two parties were friends. Instead, it was more like the one between an intimate couple, because of the fact that her head had actually rested on his chest for a moment.

Panic setting in as she wondered what she was supposed to do, Liz tiptoed to the door and opened it silently to see what the CEO was up to.

Yet, she closed it right the next second as she had actually met the CEO's eyes, which had been looking at the door.

Because it had only been a split second, Liz hadn't been able to correctly see what kind of expression he had.

However, for some reason, she felt as if it definitely hadn't been one of anger.

Not knowing whether to trust this feeling, she paced anxiously for a few seconds before taking a deep breath and looking at herself once again.

'It was a mistake, Liz. If he asks, just apologize. Stand up strong, girl! You aren't like this! What happened to the girl who went up back to back against a pack of bullies with just Luke there to help you? He's nothing! HANDLE IT!'

Hyping herself in this way, Liz used some wet tissues to dab the cocoa on her dress.

Indeed, she had totally forgotten the pain, but now that she did so, she tried not to yelp as the skin underneath was very painful.

The main area of effect was her thighs, but it was a good thing that her dress had protected her, making it so that there wouldn't be any lasting damage.

Nodding at herself one last time in the mirror, Liz walked out with a determined stride.

Yet, everything that she had just told herself went out the window as she saw that the CEO was actually right outside.

Hearing the door open, he had turned around and was now looking at her with his mouth open, as if at a loss of what to say.

Since she had met him, this was the first time she saw such an expression, and it was actually very adorable.

Of course, the memory of what had just happened drove this thought out of her mind.

Unable to control herself, Liz looked down at his chest where her head had just been.

That feeling of comfort of security was something she had never felt before in her life.

At this moment, she almost wished that she would stumble again, so that the same could repeat.

"Shall I take you to your room?"

Hearing his question, Liz was finally able to shake away all these thoughts and come back to her senses.

Indeed, this was the same man who had left her alone in that state, and one incident like before changed nothing.

Keeping a strong clamp on her mind, she nodded before looking down and walking out.

The CEO walked beside her, and he didn't seem to realize that their hands were so close that they were almost touching.

Liz knew that she could add some distance between them, but she just didn't want to.

It almost seemed as if sparks flew off every time the two hands came near, as if they were attracted to each other but were being kept apart against their will.

If both of them knew that they were thinking of the same moment before when they had held hands to get here, Liz and Will would have been shocked.

In this fashion, the two walked to Liz's room in silence.

Lost in the feelings that had washed over them before, either of them didn't bother about all the looks they got from others who saw a couple with stained clothes walking beside each other, both looking down as if they had done something wrong.

Finally, it was at Liz's door that Will managed to open his mouth and say what he had been holding inside since the past few minutes.
