Interlude: Armada in the sky

It’s the 1990s, before Pluto was actively trying to find a way to change himself. He had just come out of a blockbuster chain near his home, bringing some movies for him and Thena to watch together.

He was walking down the street, lighting up a cigarette calmly as the bag that continued the movies he was going to watch dangling from his hands.

But then, in the sky, he sensed something huge. A significant spike of energy similar to the space stone, he could feel it radiating from the space above. He hummed as he felt it, and, with the movies still in his bag, he disappeared from the storefront, towards the event that was happening above him.

Pluto appeared just right at the edge of the earth’s atmosphere, and in front of him, he saw a giant armada of spaceships, travelling slowly to earth.

“Damn.” Pluto whistled, the DVD started to float around, making Pluto had to tie the bag and close any holes on the bag.

He then saw a meteor-like thing that was rushing towards the armada. He knew who it was, he could feel the energy of the space stone inside her.

He saw her destroying a bunch of small ships that were trying to attack her using an energy blast. Pluto admits that she was good at using her powers, but she was no Odin.

Pluto’s body then glowed blue and Eldritch armour started to envelop his whole body. He rushed towards the meteor-like thing, stopping in front of her, and that move also made her stop in place.

“Hey.” Pluto greeted her casually. “Need help?”

It was a woman, wearing a red and blue costume, her hair raising like a mohawk. The woman frowned as she saw Pluto.

“Get out of my way.” she said sternly.

“Hey, I’m offering you help, don’t be so rude.”

The woman’s frown deepened. Her hands started to glow, aiming the energy at Pluto. “Please, I have no time to deal with you, I can handle this on my own.”

Pluto raised his eyebrow underneath the eldritch armour. He just raised his hand, and slowly, the energy inside the woman’s hands started to vanish, surprising her.

“Don’t be cocky Danvers.” Pluto warned. “You’re not the strongest being in the universe.”

Pluto just turned his hand, and made a crushing gesture towards the Armada of ships. Spatial Pressure started to crush the small ships one by one, even the bigger ones were crushed, exploding in the vast and empty space.

It was like a domino effect, the ships exploded one by one, Danvers’s eyes widened as she saw it.

Sooner than later, only one ship left, the mothership; only rubbles of the armada remained in the space surrounding it.

“There, I did your job for you.” Pluto casually said. “Finish the rest will you? and quickly get out of earth”

Before Danvers could say anything, the man had disappeared from her sight, towards his home.

Pluto released the Eldritch Armour on his body as he was in front of his home, and entered it, bringing the DVDs to Thena so they could watch it.

Meanwhile, Danvers was confused. “What the hell was that…”

At night, Danvers was washing the dishes in a remote home with a friend of hers, Nick Fury.

“Hey… when the Armada arrived… I didn’t… do anything…” she murmured.

“What do you mean you didn’t do anything?” Fury raised his brow.

“A man blocked my path.” She said, “I don’t know who he is, though he has a British accent from the looks of it. He just… crushed the ships.”

“Crushed the ships?” Fury frowned.

“With one gesture.” she said. “It’s like… Space around him moved by his will… and Space decided to crush the ships, annihilating the entire armada, except the mothership.”

“Hm… that doesn’t sound good…” Fury hummed, his heart became uneasy. “I’ll check it out, see if I can find anything.”
