21 C21 : Gathering Evidence Part 4

"What did you mean your not a puppy? I didn't hear Storm say anything like that and my hearings pretty good." A pale Logan asked the upset blue teen next him as the stood in the living room of the Stark house.

"Haah, I accidentally read her mind and she called me a puppy, I mean a little respect isn't much to ask for is it?" Nick asked Logan rhetorically as he sat down on the sofa.

Logan sat down next to him and said, "Oh you can just read people's minds casually like that? Charles definitely can't do that without focusing." Logan told Nick.

"Yeah, I just do it in case someone has bad thoughts about me and that they might attack me, can't hurt to be too careful." Nick explained to Logan as he calmed down.

"So what do we do now? What do you need to do to fix my memories?" Logan asked Nick, trying to get back to the main reason why they left the school.

"Do you know how to meditate?" Nick asked Logan as he smiled.

"Huh? Meditation?" Logan said confused.

...

"So I just sit like this a think about nothing?" Logan asked Nick who was sitting across from him.

They were both in Nick's gym room, sitting cross-legged on the mats, Nick was teaching Logan how to enter his inner world so that Nick could get access to Logan's memories.

"Yeah, now, I'll help you enter your mind space and after that I'll enter your mind after you so we can put your memories back together." Nick explained to Logan as he watched Logan calm his breathing and enter a mediative state.

'It must be easier for him to calm his mind and breathing because he is basically a human shaped animal, and natural predators can do such things when stalking their prey.' Nick thought to himself as he watched Logan.

When Nick saw that Logan was completely calm and steady he closed his eyes and opened his third eye, he was able so see that Logan's red life energy was very bright, like it couldn't be extinguished.

Nick was also able to see his metal skeleton, his bones were a completely different colour to others that he has seen and the bones were a sliver colour.

Nick then focused his third eye on his grandfather's head, he pushed his vision pasted the metal skull and into his mind and his vision soon went dark, just like before when he entered his own mind-scape.

...

After Nick's vision once again returned to him he looked around and saw that he was in a battered and torn landscape, like a war had happened just recently, if he looked farther away he would see destroyed war machines and firers still raging.

"Wow, this is worse than I thought it would be... " Nick said to himself as he looked and Logan's mind.

"Hey kid." Logan shouted to Nick as he walked up to him from behind.

"So this is my mind right? Does it look anything like yours?" Logan asked Nick as he looked around them, frowning as he did.

"No, my mind is a mountain range with lots of greenery, yours looks damaged and torn apart... this will take a lot of work to rebuild, I hope your ready because most of the building is going to come from your efforts." Nick explained to Logan as he looked at him with a serious look on his face.

"Ok, so what do I have to do?" Logan asked Nick, determined.

"You first have to learn how to control your minds landscape, you can start fixing the terrain and then we can more on to your memories." Nick told his grandfather as he made gestures with his hands, pointing at the ground and ditches around them.

"Mmm, ok I get that but how do I do that, I'm not a telepath like you or Charles, I can't control any of this." He said as he pointed at the ground.

"You don't have to be, it's your mind, you can do whatever you want with it as long as you have the mental chakra." Nick said as he walked over to Logan, he then stood beside him and started to explain how to move his mental chakra and how to use it to change the landscape.

...

"And that's it, well done grandpa." Nick smiled as he slapped his grandfather on the back for a good job done in putting his mental landscape back together, it was now a densely populated wooded area with a lake and waterfall in the centre.

Nick and Logan were standing in the middle of the lake on a small island, it was the same place they were at when they arrived in Logan's mind so it made sense that they made it the center hub for his mind.

"I can't believe I was able to do this, it even smells like a real forest." Logan said with a small shocked face as he looked at the world he just built.

"Hahaha, don't be so shocked so soon, we still have to recover your memories, now imagine a heavy mist rolling in around us and in inside that mist are balls of light, lots of them." Nick explained to Logan, as he did Logan closed his eyes once again and he followed Nick's instructions, using his mental chakra to bring a mist around them, he then filled the mist with balls of light like Nick said.

"Good, now picture some black shots in some of those balls of light." Nick told Logan to do, and so Logan followed the instructions and some of the balls of light gained some black spots.

"Ok, you can open your eyes now." And so Logan did and he was once again shocked at what he was able to do.

"These balls of light are your memories are the black spots are the impurities, your lost memories, as long as you think of them as that then your mind will automatically fill them with your memories." Nick explained to Logan who was listening closely.

"We now just have to clean the black spotted memories and you will then have them all back, after that you'll be able to enter your mind-scape on your own the way I tort you and you can take your time looking over your memories." Nick explained.

"Ok, how do we clean them?" Logan asked Nick.

"You will use your mental chakra to cover the ball of light and then use it to heat the ball of light up, like in a furnace, and that will temper the memory and rid it of it's impurities, I'll help with the first couple but after that you can do it by yourself in your own time, okay?" Nick explained to Logan as he made gestures around a close by memory.

Logan did what Nick described and once again used his mental chakra to cover the ball of light next to Nick, once Logan did that he asked Nick, "How do I heat it up?"

"Make it vibrate extremely quickly, like it's excited, it will heat up like that." Nick explained, and so Logan did what Nick told him too and started to make his chakra vibrate, as it got quicker and quicker it started to change colour and release heat, it turned a orange fire colour and then a bright red.

"That's it, keep going, a little more and the impurities will be burn out." Nick encouraged Logan, when Logan tried to increase the temp, sweat started to break out on his forehead, the required concentration for this task was making Logan physically tired, it showed how intense the temperature had to be to burn out the impurities in his memories.

When Logan continued to increase the temp it started to turn a bright white, and the black spots started to fizzle out in the white light.

"Okay, that's good, your almost finished, okay stop!" Nick shouted to Logan, breaking him out of his concentration and making him stop his chakra around the ball of light and fall the ground, once the chakra was gone it revealed a pure white ball of light, all of the black spots had been burned off.

"You okay, grandpa? You did a good job, the memory is fixed now." Nick said as he patted Logan on his back, Logan breathed heavily as he looked up at Nick and the ball of light next to him.

Logan smiled at his work between breaths and Nick then grabbed his hand and pulled him up of the ground so that the eyes were both looking at the now clear memory, "You just need to put your hand inside it and you will be able to view the memory." Nick explained to Logan as he stepped back and watched as Logan nodded his head and then put one of his hands into the memory.

Logan looked as if he was frozen with his hand in the ball of light, but a second later he quickly took a step back and he started to growl and release his claw's in anger.

"What's wrong? What memory did you see?" Nick asked Logan.

Logan turned to Nick and calmed down when he realised that he was in his mind and what he just saw was a memory, "I was fighting in a war and... it felt so real, I don't remember that so it definitely worked." He told Nick as he retracted his claw's and stood back up straight.

"I'm glad it worked but I'm sad to tell you that you have probably live much, much longer then you think and with your abilities it's very likely that you have fought in a lot of wars." Nick said sadly to Logan who was listening closely, but he just nodded his head with an understanding look on his face.

They stood in silence before Nick started talking again, "Haah, alright you should be able to fix your memories by yourself from now on so I'll take you back to the school."

"Ok, how do we leave?" Logan asked as he looked around his mind.

"Just think about leaving and you will." Nick answered and as if to demonstrate he started to fade away right in front of Logan's eyes.

Logan watched Nick go and he too then started to think about leaving with his eyes closed, when he open his eyes seconds later he saw that he was in Nick's gym, sitting across from him with his legs crossed, in the exact same way he was before he entered his mind.

"Well done grandpa, now I'll teleport you back to the school." Nick said before he grabbed Logan's arm and teleported them both away, Logan didn't even have a second to prepare himself for the sudden teleport.

...

Nick and Logan reappeared in the school in the middle of the air in the kitchen, the exact same place they were in when they left.

Nick and Logan were both very agile and so they both landed on they feet even though they teleported in a sitting position, but Logan's face became pale from the teleportation sickness.

Across from them was a dark blue skinned boy with three fingers on each hand and markings all across his skin, he had a sandwich between his hands and he was in the middle of taking a big bite out of it.

He was visibly shocked at someone suddenly appearing in front of him, it was normally him who did the surprising, "Huh? Your Nick Stark aren't you?" Kurt asked Nick who was supporting Logan from falling down and vomiting on the floor.

"Yeah, nice to meet you little brother." Nick smiled at Kurt as he helped Logan to a chair on the island, he then walked over to the sink and filled a glass with water for Logan.

Nick then put his he glass in Logan's hand and then also took a seat at the island, "So, Kurt right? What's been happening since I was gone." He asked Kurt who looked surprised that Nick knew his name.

"Huh, you were here before? When?" Kurt asked Nick.

"Oh, right they probably didn't tell you, well I was here like 30-40 minutes ago and I knocked out Hank and then... " Nick then went on to tell Kurt what happened since the time he teleported into Charles study to the present.

"I really wouldn't think that Logan was your grandfather." Kurt told Nick as he finished off his sandwich.

"Well I should probably tell you that I wasn't joking when I said little brother before, your father had a lot of children and not all of them inherited are teleporting ability, my father was one of those children." Nick explained to Kurt who was making a giant shocked face.

"Are we really are related?" Kurt asked still shocked.

"Yeah." Nick answered.

Kurt suddenly teleported across the island so he was in front of Nick, Nick felt Kurt coming with his spider sense's but he didn't move out of the way and he just let Kurt hug him.

Kurt started crying as he held onto Nick tightly, Nick smiled happily as he hugged Kurt back with all his arms, while this was happening Logan just watched them as he walked away with a smile on his face.

Kurt continued to hug Nick like this for two minutes more, when he finally let go he said, "Sorry about that, I just really wanted family and so that all just kind of built up, so sorry, I got your t-shirt wet." Kurt explained as he wiped his eyes.

Just before Nick was about to say something Jean walked in to the kitchen and she looked surprised when she saw Nick there again, she then looked at Kurt and saw that he had been crying immediately assume the worse had happened to Kurt and so she screamed and Nick and attacked him with her powers again, but instead of directly trying to move Nick like she did before, she moved the knifes in the knife block to attack Nick.

"Get away from him!" She screamed, as she flicked her wrist and sent the knifes flying right at Nick.

Kurt was about to shout out to stop Jean, but before he could Nick pushed him behind him with his left hand and put up his top right hand at the same time, bright orange chakra formed around his hand and then shot forward and became a giant hand with a black strip going up the arm from the wrist.

The giant hand took all the knives to its palm and then closed around them, stopping them from going forward and hitting Nick and Kurt.

Kurt was surprised at Nick's giant chakra hand but he dismissed it as one of Nick's powers as it wasn't odd for mutants to have more then the one power, so he shouted out, "Stop! He's not attacking me!" At the same time he shouted Jean was trying to regain control of the knives and it showed that she was struggling with Nick's giant chakra hand.

Jean heard Kurt's desperate shout so she stopped trying, she knew she couldn't do anything to Nick anyway, "Why were you crying then?" She asked as she put her hands down, the knives stopped shaking in the chakra hand.

"I was crying because I just found out that me and Nick are related and I got a bit emotional." Kurt explained a bit embarrassed.

"Haha don't stress." Nick laughed as he slapped Kurt on the back, Jean just stood there stunned and a bit embarrassed because she had attacked Nick again and got it wrong again.

While Nick was laughing happily Jean suddenly dropped to the ground, passed out, "Jean?" Kurt exclaimed surprised, a red fierce energy rose up from Jeans body and formed into the shape of a bird that was spreading its wings, the red bird then made a cry and then flyer at Nick who was watching in amazement.

"What took you so long?" Nick asked aloud rhetorically, as the red bird entered his body though his chest.

"Protect my body." Nick told Kurt before he sat down and used his third eye to enter his mind-scape.

Kurt was left standing there stunned as he looked from Nick to Jean, "What?" Kurt exclaimed.
