73 Take Advantage

Her sobs are so loud that Mo Lihua ears are hurting. She has a feeling that Jean is exaggerating.

"How can you cause issue the moment you visit? I was confident that you are smart enough to cause unnecessary cleanup for this old woman!" Jean continued her rant, mostly on Piore as the woman has not yet addressed her personally aside from their brief exchange earlier.

"You as well young miss! You should have stopped him before he can even get out of the car!"

"See if you enjoy the show of me burning this super expensive metal when you do that again!

"You just visit ones every five years, then this!"

"Huhuhu! Why are you not answering?! Am I now a wind that you are ignoring?" Jean sob louder after that.

"Ms. Jean..." Mo Lihua started but unsure how to comfort another so she shut up again. She resulted to look at Piore and found out that the man is also looking helpless.

She saw Piore released a deep breath before his hand reached to Jean's head to gently caress her!

Mo Lihua was surprised, but when Piore spoke after, she was dumbfounded!

"Mother, don't cry anymore. I am here now..." Piore noted softly, but Jean just continued to cry.

"Mother?!" Mo Lihua blurted out with astonishment. So that explains Piore's audacity to do what he wants inside District 12.

Piore ignored her and continued to comfort the woman next to him.

With that, Mo Lihua can just ponder Piore's origin. She is considering the possibility that the Doncrelli family have already monopolized the District 12.

In the Doncrelli family, there are different branches. This branches composed of people that they made sure to use or keep as chess pieces to have a strong footing to all organizations. Mostly are illegally but there are also legal ones.

One of these branches are people branded as Bastardos. These peoples are those that were used as an offering of family members that were exiled before so they can return to the family.

Bastardos are the lowest in the family and considered as slaves. There was also hearsay that exploding chips are implanted to them for monitoring. For the worse case scenarios, they can be suicide assassins as well.

Exiles are kicked out because of rules violation and grudges cannot be removed just like that. Grudges by the exile for being treated as a disgrace. As well as hate from the other family members that were affected after the violation was done.

Mo Lihua is not aware of who is Piore's father. She is not even sure if the man is from the main branch of the family. However, looking at him gently coaxing his mother to feel better only means that he may not be in good terms with his father.

The way Jean cried confirmed that she has not seen Piore for a while. With the strict rules implemented with Bastardos, Piore probably is not allowed to even see her or contact her in person.

Did Piore use her then to see his mother?

Does he want to take his mother away from District 12?

Mo Lihua badly wants to ask to know the answer but decided to be patient and wait for later. If Piore will not give her an acceptable answer, then he cannot blame him for not cooperating.

'Father...' Mo Lihua silently called out. The things that her father has done for her are all carved within her heart and hopes to repay him in the future.

For her, Mo Che can choose to give her up since she knows that he has not seen her before. He can decide to just negotiate for her mother instead.

Yes, Mo Lihua's mother is still with the Doncrelli family and she knows that Mo Che has been trying to get her as well and after ten years he is still not successful.

With that in mind, Mo Lihua starting to fully accept that joining the selection is really the right thing to do. If she wants to help her father and mother as well as Piore then this is the only way.

Piore is right. If she cannot run away from her origin, might as well take advantage of it!
