Chapter 49 - David Lost His Mind?

David opened the black suitcase on the table and smiled broadly at the contents of the suitcase which he asked Lucy to send to his place without telling Lucy what was in it.

David's type of smile like this he only shows when David sees one of several weapons which is on his list of favorite weapons.

M416 Carbin, an automatic firearm which is a short and light version of the M16 assault rifle which only has single-shot and burst-shot modes.

Single-shot is a mode where every time the trigger pulls only one bullet that comes out. Meanwhile, the burst-shot will launch three bullets for one pull on the trigger of the weapon on the shooter's index finger.

David closed his black suitcase again and put it into a car he rented and drove the car somewhere.

David received a notification on his cell phone and smiled. Angeline sent word that she had safely returned to the apartment. And now the girl will rest. David entered the expressway area, and the three cars behind David's car that he saw in the rearview mirror caught David's attention.

David grinned as an incoming call from Ainsley popped up on his cell phone screen. David picked it up after connecting his cellphone to his car audio using bluetooth.

"Do you think with my experience of dying from a car, you could beat me the same way?" David asked AInsley across the line.

David was unbeatable on the battlefield. But the events that took the life of legendary mafia boss Hendrick Brasco have been around for a long time. Where the legendary mafia died because he was betrayed by his subordinates, and the incident took place when David and Hendrick Brasco were in a car that fell into a cliff and were shot blindly.

Ainsley laughed dryly, "Hahaha ... we'll never know if we don't try, right?"

"I told you, you underestimate me too much." David replied, who immediately deflected the car. The three cars followed David and immediately shot David down with their guns.

David's rear window was shattered. David really only rented an ordinary car. Because for him there was no need to use a bullet-proof steel car to deal with crooks like them.

David took out the M416 Carbin from the black suitcase he was carrying and started firing several bullets backwards relying only on the shadows he saw in the rearview mirror.

It only took three bullets to pierce the forehead of the driver of one of the three cars currently chasing him. Even though they used bulletproof glass, David fired three bullets at the same point in succession, making holes formed in the bulletproof glass.

The car that had lost its driver made a sudden turn and hit the road divider.

Now the remaining two cars are chasing him.

"Looks like I really underestimated you." said Ainsley, who was still on the telephone line with David. "Do you really have a weakness? At this rate our fight won't be that much fun."

David laughed out loud. Ainsley must have been in one of the two cars now chasing him. "So, are you still willing to continue this fight, or are you going to leave your own head to me so I don't have to bother?"

"Don't get cocky just yet. I'm sure I could kill you if we were in a more favorable place for me."

"Has your stupid brain forgotten that I was the one who taught you everything you know?" asked David, trying to discourage Ainsley. For whatever sake David didn't want to kill Ainsley.

David thought maybe he could pull Ainsley back on his side if he managed to crush her fighting spirit, leaving her in the position of having the slightest chance of winning. That way Ainsley will return to his side by herself.

Although David did not know that it would not happen.

Because the crux of the problem lies not in how likely she is to win against David, but the crux of the problem is a feeling of heart that David doesn't understand.

Ainsley had put her heart in David, but since seeing the way David looked at his wife, Angeline, Ainsley felt that she had no reason to continue to survive in this cruel and dirty world anymore.

What Ainsley thought was, if David couldn't be hers, then no one could have David. Even if she had to die, if she died at the hands of David as the only person she loved, Ainsley wouldn't have any regrets over her death.

David thought for a moment. "Very well then. What game do you want to do next?"

"Do you think I'm playing? I will really kill you, you know ?!" snarled Ainsley, causing Daviud to chuckle again.

David pulled the handbrake hard and swerved the car to the left, making the car turn three hundred and sixty degrees, and as he spun one hand free other than holding the steering wheel he grabbed the gun, firing two bullets which made one of the tires of the car behind him leak and lost control and hit a tow truck.

Bummm! ...

The car exploded instantly and created a severe traffic jam behind it.

Now only one car was chasing after David, the car driven by Ainsley herself.

David stopped the car in the middle of the highway. The situation was so lonely because previously David had made a total traffic jam from the car he blew up because it hit a trailer truck.

Ainsley also stopped the car exactly a few yards from where David had stopped.

David got out of his car, and so did Ainsley.

They exchanged glances, with the M416 Carbin in David's hand, and the Desert Eagle in Ainsley's hand. Automatic weapons against a handheld pistol. It was an unfair battle if we ignore their personal combat abilities.

Because in any case the difference in Ainsley and David's abilities is still like heaven and earth.

"Should we end here?" asked David, pulling the rifle back and pressing the button which it activate auto-mode on the gun so that it sounded a 'crack'.

Ainsley also prepared her gun, "I think so."

Of course anyone already knew the end of this one-sided battle. Yep, death is bound to come to Ainsley sooner or later.

They looked at each other.

At first glance, David saw the silhouette of Ainsley's cheerful laughter, when they trained together a few years ago.

Likewise Ainsley, the woman saw the image of David's face the first time she saw David smile.

However, the sound of a helicopter made David and Ainsley turn their heads. Yes, a helicopter was actually flying very close to them. And in it looks a woman who is familiar to both of them.

The woman who has a black rose tattoo on her back.

A mysterious woman who can tame three former great generals of the legendary mafia syndicate Hendrick Brasco.

The crazy woman who blatantly attacked David, trapped Angeline and also blew up a sports arena that caused an uproar in a country.

A woman who can never be predicted, sometimes she becomes more invisible than a shadow, sometimes she becomes more visible than a very bright light.

And the mysterious mad woman was smiling at David and Ainsley while holding a large caliber machine gun attached to the helicopter.

Ainsley took out her ringing cell phone from his trouser pocket and immediately placed the phone to her ear. "Hey stinky bitch, what are you doing in that helicopter? Why are you interrupting my fight with David?!"

"I just wanted to say hi to the two of you." said Catherine with a smile at Ainsley before turning her gaze--as well as a high caliber machine gun that she held--at David. "My David is very handsome, don't you think?"

"Get lost, stinky bitch. Don't think I'll let you go after interrupting my battle with David."

"Looks like I don't need you anymore. So I just came to say goodbye to you." she said as she returned her high caliber machine gun's direction to Ainsley.

David who saw that immediately rounded his eyes. He knew what Catty was going to do to Ainsley.

David immediately dashed towards Ainsley. "Ainsley! Get the fuck outta there!"

"Good-bye, silly girl. May your death bring sorrow to my dear David."

Drrrrrrrttttttt! ...

David reflexively covered his face with his hands when he heard the sound of the shelling of bullets coming from large-caliber weapons that are usually used to destroy a tank.

By the time David removed his hands from his face, he already found Ainsley lying quite a few feet away from where she had been.

David paused to see the scars from hundreds of bullets of very large caliber pierce Ainsley's body.

Badump ...

David's heart was beating once with a very fast beat. Now his mind is completely blank. His tears flowed profusely but he didn't show any expression. His pupils turned red and his vision was dark.

David turned to face Catty who was in the helicopter.

Catty, who had been showing a smile full of satisfaction, now fell silent when she saw David's expression. The look in his eyes was too sharp for someone with a dark heart like Catty to feel scared. His pupils turned red and tears continued to flow from them. However, the expression David presented was truly expressionless.

As if it wasn't David anymore. But an undead who was ready to kill anyone he saw.

David stepped his feet, slowly, faster and faster until he was running very fast.

Is David going to jump? Is he really out of his mind?!

Catty turned, "Hey, hurry and get us out of here!" shouted Catty to the helicopter driver.

"Why are you in such a hurry? Don't you have that big gun? Just shoot him."

"Hurry and go, idiot!" Catty shouted again. When the woman turned her gaze back to David, David was already stepping on the curb of the highway and jumping with one hand still holding the M416 Carbin rifle.

"Ow shit!" said Catty as David's free hand grabbed the bottom of the helicopter, which was flying very low and very close to the edge of the highway.

Catty thrust her head out and looked down to find David staring back at her, still with his red pupils and expressionless.

Catty goes back inside and grabs a pistol, when she wants to point the gun at David hanging on the bottom of the helicopter, David is no longer there.

Bang! ... Bang! ... Bang! ...

Gunshots sounded from the front of the helicopter, causing Catty to turn.

David. The man was already in the pilot seat replacing the person he had previously killed. David took over the steering tool and pulled as hard as he could, sending the helicopter flying upward at high speed.

"David! What the fuck are you doing?!" shouted Catty asking what she was doing now.

After the helicopter reaches the height limit in the air, David turns off the engine by firing on the steering tool with his M416 Carbin, causing the helicopter to lose altitude even more.

Catty manages to move from the back of the helicopter to the pilot room and looks at David with a terrifying gaze. "Are you out of your mind? We're both going to die!" shouted Catty, frantically.

David, with his reddish pupils that had no expression before, has changed drastically. David just laughed with a laugh that could make goosebumps for anyone, including Catty.

Catty can see it.

From the look in David's eyes.

It's completely empty.

Had David completely lost his human side after she killed Ainsley right in front of his eyes?

The helicopter keeps losing altitude, but David still doesn't stop laughing.

Looks like this won't end well for anyone.
