Chapter 14 - Wedding Days (Part 3)

David ran past the invited guests who were staring at him in confusion. He looks like a delinquent who comes to the event uninvited, even though David is actually the main star of the show, which has been delayed for nearly an hour.

"Mr David, why—"

He ignored one of the directors of the Stockholm Corporation company who came with his wife.

David kept running, almost hitting everyone he rushed past, until he found the person he'd been frantically looking for.

Angeline, the woman is smiling. All traces of pain seemed to disappear from the look on her beautiful face. Even though the tears still left her cheeks, they did not dim her blissful expression.

David smiled too. Heaved a sigh of relief and walked slowly towards Angeline. And without further ado, David hugged Angeline's body to which the girl immediately responded.

Although thousands of questions still haunted Angeline's mind, the girl preferred to remain silent, so that she could feel the warm embrace of the man she loved even longer.

David let go of his hug, rubbed Angeline's head gently and stared deep into the eyes of the girl in front of him. "Sorry, I kept you waiting a long time."

Angeline just shook her head softly with a smile. Seeing the tear marks on Angeline's cheek made David's heart ache. With his thumb, David rubbed the traces of sadness and kissed Angeline's eyes for the final touch.

"I know you have a lot to ask me. I know this sounds selfish, but I'm asking to save that question for later. Because when our wedding is over, I'll tell you everything you never knew from me."

The girl nodded in agreement with David's request. To be honest, Angeline didn't find the request selfish at all. Since David's presence was all she wished for, she needed nothing more.

David brought his face closer, kissed Angeline on the forehead and rubbed the girl's head. "Can you wait a little longer? I'll change my clothes."

Angeline nodded slowly. This time the girl didn't care how long she had to wait, because with David's presence, Angeline was sure that he would not leave her.

David walked out of the room followed by some of the people who were in charge of bridal make-up.

To be honest, David never wore any makeup in his life other than face wash and deodorant to reduce the smell of his sweat every time he went on a mission that produced excessive sweating, like fighting the mafia for example.

After making the most of his appearance, David stood at the top of the pulpit, right next to the person who would lead them to say the sacred vows of marriage.

Initially all the people in the hall of the wedding hall did not take their eyes off with the beauty package that would end his bachelor days today. Yes, David, wherever and in any condition can always be the center of attention of the people around him, especially for women.

But now their attention is divided by the appearance of another beauty package walking the red carpet in her very elegant white dress.

The natural-looking make-up made Angeline shine even more and more attention than the dress that cost the same as the four sports cars she was wearing. Plus the body shape that flaunts beautiful curves that can make every man who is paying attention to swallow their own saliva unconsciously.

And the whole beauty package is enhanced with a beautiful face that is so radiant. That lovely smile with a hint of shy accent made Angeline look like a royal princess walking out of the palace for the first time in her life.

Nervousness still rumbled violently in Angeline's mind, but all of that seemed to disappear in an instant when the girl saw the warm smile on the face of the man who was waiting for her on the pulpit.

Angeline raised one hand to take David's and walked carefully up the pulpit steps.

And here, the two people who met in a very unexpected way, with the nature and background of life that are contradictory to each other will be united.

In the most sacred moment,

Namely the wedding vows.

Angeline's chest was pounding as David grasped her hand tightly.

They stare at each other.

One by one they pronounced a sacred promise that would tie them in a sacred bond, namely marriage.

David continued to smile seeing Angeline halting her promise. He understood the feeling of nervousness that the girl was experiencing. Even though Angeline's tears were incessantly flowing, it didn't diminish her beautiful face at all.

However, a few lines of the wedding vows spoken by David actually made the atmosphere suddenly change drastically.

"I promise, no matter how many bullets are lodged in my body, while I can still breathe, this breath will protect you."

Angeline frowned. Bullet?

"I promise, that you are the only place I return to. Even if my life is only one breath away, I will still come back to you."

Everyone was silent a thousand languages. What David said sounded terrible, but also sweet at the same time, like a contradiction. What a beautiful contradiction. Still, it sounded a little gruesome and extreme.

Although some people who attended the sacred ceremony thought that David's love was so deep that he dared to utter such extreme words like that.

"I promise. Will give up every drop of blood that must come out of my body, no matter how much, as long as it can keep you happy to be by my side."

Unexpectedly, a David Stockholm, the King of the Underworld who is notoriously sadistic and has never given mercy to anyone, shed tears. Neither the invited guests nor the employees of the Stockholm Corporation would have thought that David, who always exuded an aura of authority and intimidating every pair of eyes who saw, could also shed tears.

"I promise ... that this is the first, and last time ..." David paused, making everyone subconsciously make everyone hold their breath waiting for David to finish. "I've made promises like this all my life. Only in front of someone who is now standing in front of me."

Everyone sighed heavily. Instantly the whole room was filled with loud clapping sounds. David handed the microphone he was holding to the old man who had been leading them to say their wedding vows and stepped closer to Angeline, trying to keep their distance as small as possible.

David held Angeline's waist, while Angeline put her hand on David's shoulder and looked up.

"I love you." said David, making the tears pouring out of Angeline's eyes even more profusely. Even so, the girl still smiled.

"I love you." replied Angeline.

Before finally the sound of clapping became even louder as David and Angeline started stroking each other's lips in a slow and gentle tempo.

Not a greedy kiss like wanting to quench a thirst that will never be satisfied, but a gentle kiss full of affection from the two people who love each other.

While all eyes were on David and Angeline who were above the pulpit, a woman in black dress with a tattoo of a small black rose on her upper back was smiling broadly in the corner of the room, accompanied by a man who was standing beside her.

The man snorted in an annoying accent. "The god I used to admire on the battlefield, has now become a pussy just because of a woman."

The woman beside him laughed softly. "Never underestimate a woman. You men will eventually bow and become thirsty dogs in a woman's crotch."

"Tch ... you damn bitch." cursed the man which made the woman laugh even more. "When I found out that David had become weak like this, I would lose interest in joining this 'war'."

"I told you, you only see from the outside."

"And what the fuck does that mean?"

"He looks weak on the outside, but do you see the look in his eyes? Do you still think David is weak after seeing those eyes?" said the woman who made the man speechless, his expression showing that he did not want to accept the fact, the fact that David was not weak.

Anyone who knows the figure of a David Stockholm in the Underworld will surely understand the meaning of David's eyes. At a glance they would all know that the present David was even more terrifying than before.

In the past, David was just a wolf who was fierce, cruel, brutal, but lonely.

But this time, the wolf was no longer lonely.

Because that vicious wolf now has something valuable in his life. Something he will take care of no matter the stakes.

That is what makes David even more dangerous now.

However, the woman in black was smiling with satisfaction when she realized that David was a more dangerous person than before.

"Perfect ..." said the woman in black, making the man next to her turn around. "The war this time will be even more interesting.

David did not realize that behind the happiness he felt, there was a great threat moving in the shadows, lurking in silence, ready to attack at any moment.
