Chapter 2：CHAPTER 2 : HIS FATHER IS JAPANESE

FLASHBACK

There were some boys playing at the beach together. They played sand and swam in the seaside happily together. "That boy called Joshiro, his father is Japanese. Becareful with him !" a boy told his friend. The other boy was curios "Why, what about him ?"

"Japanese was cruelly invaded our country before right, it suffered a lot of people !"

"But, he just little kid like us, he didn't know about that !"

"But his father knew, his father is a mechanic of any machines."

"But, Josh is a kind kid, he never harm any kids before !"

"Fine, if you still want to play with him ! Then you can't play with us from now !"

That kid was called Philip Xie, he was Josh best friends since they were little. They cared for each other and always helped each other. Josh mom is chinese, she named her son Wu Ji Long.

Josh kid grew up in the coast. His father is a mechanic, he can fix up car machines, or ship engine. He used to be mechanic for tanks. Josh was very proud of his father, he sometimes helped his father fixing the machines, he wanted to be like his father if he grew up someday, and he dreamt to own a big ship one day. Little Josh sometime got bullied by his friends because of his father was japanese, but he didn't care about them. Philip his only best friend, his house was next to Josh's house. His father was a fisherman and got helped by Josh father sometimes. Little Josh got trained karate together with his friend Philip since they were 7 years old by his father. So, Josh never scared being bullied by his friends, but he never used violence to face them, he learnt in karate just to defense oneself not to harm others.

One day when Josh was fifteen years old, his father suddenly died. He drowned while fixing the ship engine in the deep sea. "Daddy, where are you ? Why daddy hasn't came home for 5 days mom ? Josh asked curiously. His mom couldn't hide the news anymore, she told him about his father death in the sea. He was very sad, but he couldn't do anything. They never found the body. They can only prayed for his soul. After few weeks, Josh decided to help his mom, they tried to struggle by themselves since then. He promised his mom, he would help and support her since his father had gone. He tried to finished his high school with his own effort, he got scholarship because he was a smart student. On his off school time he tried to learn about ship engine from his father's friend and also from book. He got some money from helping his father's friend fixing some engines. His mom was very proud of him.

Young Josh spent his teen age for learning and working, he never thought about anything else, including romantic love life. Though young Josh grew to be a good looking young man, he never glanced to the girls who admired him at school. Some girls even gave him love letter, but he just ignored them all. "Josh, Angel asked me to give you this" Philip hand a letter to Josh one day. Josh didn't see the letter "Just throw it to the trash !" he ordered Philip. "But, don't you think you hurt Angel's feeling ?" Philip worriedly asked him. "I don't wanna give any false hope to anyone Phil. You know my goal is to help my mom struggle for our lives since my daddy left us." Josh left Philip then.

Young Josh had promised to himself that he would see any girls and just focus to study and work until he graduated high school. One day one of his fan girls came to his house, this girl was the aggressive one, she just couldn't wait the result of her sent letter before. She decided to face him at his house and there she met his mom. "Excuse me aunt, can I see Josh ?" Josh mom surprised opened the door for her, no other girl had been to their house before and she was the first "Ouw, sorry young miss, my son Josh still working somewhere at the beach now, can I help you ?"

The little girl curiously asked her "Oh nothing important aunt, my name is Angel I'm Josh's classmate. Do you know at what place he used to worked ?" Josh mom smiled "Oh, sorry I don't know on which place he working now, he moves to some places which need him most." Angel still not gave up yet "What time will he back ?" Josh mom replied "I'm not sure, he often came late. You should meet him tomorrow at school young miss."Finally Angel gave up "Ok thank you aunt." She went home disappoint face.

Josh came late that night, his mom told him about Angel who came to seek him this afternoon. He just listened his mom word without expression. "Josh, are you dating Angel ?" Josh mom asked curiously. "No mom, I don't think about dating any girls right now. I just want to graduated high school as soon as possible and get some job to help you earn money. I just want to make you happy" Josh hugged his mom. His mom smiled and caressed his back "Just don't work to tired, you still have to go to school. Your school is the important thing ! Don't worry about me I can still provide some food for us to eat !"

The next day, the bell rang and the school had ended. Angel ran tried catch up Josh "Josh,wait I need to talk to you !" she panting tried to stop Josh. "What do you wanna talk to me ?" Josh frowned.

Angel :"Did you got my letter before ? I asked Phillip to gave you yesterday"

Josh :"Yes I did. But sorry Angel, I didn't read it yesterday and I lost it. If you don't have anything again sorry I have to hurry to work."

Angel :"Wait ! Josh do you know I have a feeling for you ?"

Josh :"No, and I don't care. Sorry Angel I don't have time for you or any romance moments. My focus now is my job and help my mom since my dad died not long ago. Sorry I hope you can understand me and please don't disturb me in the future."

Josh left her hurriedly before his friends came to swarmed them. Angel was shock and couldn't say anything just watch him go and tears started falling from her eyes. She was embarrassed and mad and all her feeling mix up all at once. She covered her face and ran away home. Philip saw them from far. He tried to catch up Josh and ask him "What happened with you two ?" Josh still walked fast "Nothing, I have cleared it up with Angel just now"

Phillip :"Didn't you a bit too harsh to her ? You know she like you right ?"

Josh :"Yeah, but I don't want to give her any false hope, you know my situation now right ?"

Philip :"Yes, but I still feel pity for her. At least she is the bravest one to confess to you !"

Josh :"Yeah, I know. But I don't like aggressive girl you know Phil !"

They went to work together. And rumors started to arise the next day about Josh rejected Angel. But then Angel could accept it after few weeks.

Josh finally graduated from high school and he decided to move to big city looking for job with better pay. He told his mom about his plan. His mom couldn't held him, she just released her only son to struggle for his own life and reached his own dream. She hoped one day his son would be successful.
